So who would know of this tiny story if Avi didn't report it? It's clear people flock here _hoping_ to be scandalised, looking for new material allowing them to wallow in outrage. The RSL, a military personnel association and (I read) a war museum all formally requested those groups stop bearing the ensign in the street and at their meetings.
It was never a standard used as informally as the Aussie flag. Its official unfurling is on rare occasions & specific ceremonies.
It should never be disrespected by the dill in the above clip or waved like a footy scarf by right wing tools.
I'm not sure how often it was flown on battlefields.

Where I live, the turnout for the Dawn Service has grown from just 17 people in 1998 to 1500 in 2024. The push back is well and truly under way.

The specific actions by the Hamas supporters that were deemed disrespectful towards the Anzacs were the desperation of the country flag, the flag their brothers, by blood and by rigour, died under and for. I thought these protestors are in solidarity with indigenous, yet the Indigenous are ANZACS as well and they are included in the ANZAC Day ceremonies. The indigenous have served and still serve alongside White Aussies and New Zealanders. And ANZAC Day is a PEACEFUL day to respect and remember our ANZACs past and present who serve in the interest of peace. So these protestors are disrespecting our indigenous as well. These protestors do not deserve to be in Australia. Their behaviour and disrespect to our country they have shown is disgusting and completely unnecessary.

Silly me getting up at 04:10 Monday to Friday to head off to work . Friday arvo now and I'm absolutely shattered . Saturday and Sunday is taken up with housework, food shopping and laundry so I can do it all again next week !
