I worked 10 years in a prison and it's astounding how many people will plead guilty to offences they never committed and always because the sentence is less traumatic than going through the court system.

Yep, iif only the public realised how unfair the system is! And can be just the same as rolling dice. But they don’t that is until the full force of it comes against them.. the system is broken and to be honest always has been you’ve only got look back in history
Unfortunately for men the law works in a very bias way against them especially in family / custody matters. It's been that way since forever. It seems flawed that a female can easily use the system to exaggerate or flat out make up lies knowing the law leans in her favor to believe the claims, and sadly society is also conditioned by media etc that men are always the aggressor and females are always victims. That is also a flawed belief. Many men are in prison when they never deserved to be and many children not seeing their father unfairly because of the broken system. I respect Avi because his experience with the law didn't send him into a hole - plenty of decent men / fathers are ruined over the stuff he went through, he should be proud.
It was so he could see his children. I get it, my ex had an affair then when I found I was upset about it especially because I was suspicious and she denied it. She threatened to take my daughters away and said I would never see them again. Effing kunt, I had to sit and watch this POS carry on. Karma is a beautiful thing. Years later she is a faded beauty overweight and the high life she lived now impacting on her physical and mental health. My daughters all adults now. More power to Avi and his nemesis the bumbling fool will get his karma for being a shithead.
I didn't go to prison.... but ive been in that situation where its easier to let them put the dvo on and just leave and distance. Because again... the court system pushes both parties in the direction of MOST CONFLICT because that benefits the BUDDYS in there , lawyers , magistrates etc all being fed they love it!
Yea the court system screwed my mental health.. almost a year of fighting for my innocents. Charges were dropped a few weeks ago, but only because I had everything on video. I would have pled guilty if I had known that it would destroy me, trying to fight it.. I almost did give up. I refused to go back to court after almost a year. I told them "if you wanna put a warrant out for my arrest, because of something soo stupid, even after I have proven my innocents, go ahead, in not coming back".. a week later, I got a call saying charges have been dropped.. if I hadn't done that, I would probably still be going every other week. And it wasn't even in the town I was charged in.. I had to constantly drive to the next town over because my town doesn't have a court system..😮. The police arrested me at home and got my address wrong on the paperwork. That's proof how little they investigated the false accusations, And situation.
Avi has a patience I do not possess. Brave patriot.

I was charged with two offences that I did not commit. Cost me nearly a year and 15 grand in lawyer fees to prove my innocence. If I had pled guilty the fine was not even $500. I am so lucky I had the money to spend to fight it.

My brother-in-law dealt with something very similar. He was innocent but took a plea deal so he could move on and be able to see his son. It was just so fucked.

I've had a toxic relationship with a crazy woman. She assaulted and attacked me several times and even in front of the police. I was still arrested and found guilty for crimes I didn't commit. So I know how Avi feels and I never listen to speculation about anyone's personal life.
I've been there myself - at the hands of an abusive, manipulative, alcoholic-in-denial - having to plead guilty for a suspended sentence or face the very real possibility of prison time (which meant I would have lost my house) for pleading not guilty. Not a gamble I was prepared to take. It's frightening and sickening how many men have been through the same thing.

I've seen a woman run at a man with a knife and the guy lucky disarmed her and held her down till the police came. He got charged and they had a new born baby. They left the baby with the psycho mother. She ended up necking herself all alone with her baby in the house and no one knew for days. This is the Australian system for you.

Israeli system has >98% convictions once a case goes to the court. so, the judge basically works as a rubber-stamper for prosecution.
but most of the cases are just settled on deals, which doesn’t make anything better though, just saves some money and time to the broken system.
family courts are amongst the worst considering inequality between the parties. abuse charges became a normal part of divorce process, especially when there’s not only kids, but also some shared real estate: charges of abuse give a woman serious advantage, because a man gets immediately thrown out of the home for a serious period of time… well, if you’ll get interested, you can dig out more details, it’s pretty ugly. one of the main reasons for male suicide in Israel is being jammed into a corner during the divorce process, being left with no means to survive after all the payments, being plagued with false criminal charges, being estranged from your kids, often either on the false premises of accusations in domestic and sexual violence, or even against the court ruling, but since the system is soft with women, they can get away with breaking the rulings as long as they aren’t living an obviously outlawish lifestyle… and all the other nicities of progressive judicial activism.
it’s also a mixture of religious and civil judiciary here in regard to family cases, and they may intersect in quite peculiar manner, where in some cases the religious court looks like a more just system than the progressive civil part of it, and by just I don’t mean anti-women, since our religious marital laws have a greater consideration to women’s rights than Shariah, where only men can apply for divorce and kids always stay with the father, or the Catholic system that has no option of divorce whatsoever. we always had such option, and both parties could apply, with kids usually staying with mothers, and fathers pay them allowance to keep their standards of life intact… in this regard it’s even more favorable to women than the civil law… there are other complexities though. but sometimes I think that many of our problems could be solved simply by cleansing our system from what was adopted from British judiciary, take our Judaic judicial system as a firm foundation, and maybe develop and expand it in order to modernize and extend it to the areas that have naturally remained out of the scope of traditional law, but in a manner that would keep all the weird legislative trash out, so it would remain ours in its essence and not like it looks today: as a strange self-contradictory and messy patchwork made from 1001 adoptions from everywhere around, where family/domestic part is plagued with Americanisms, criminal justice - with Americanisms and Britanisms, proprietal part - with Britanisms and Ottomanisms, and all this together is also infected with Progressive Judicial Activist BS… a total mess…
