Government needs to ‘stand up’ on ‘threatening’ university protests

- The Australian National Editor Dennis Shanahan slammed the “threatening” behaviour that is taking place on university campuses.
This comes amid protests sweeping across Australian universities and the government's inaction regarding the issues.
“What we are seeing is the build-up of this … from a lack of social cohesion - attacks, public protests, threats,” Mr Shanahan told Sky News host Peta Credlin.
“Bill Shorten mentioned the other day about people coming into Melbourne University asking people to stand in favour of Gaza and if they didn’t stand, they’d have their photographs taken.
“This is totalitarian behaviour. It's threatening and it’s taking place on our campuses now.
“It’s time the government stood up on this issue as well as so many other issues.”

Labor needs to be voted out next election

Labor needs to be deregistered and all members banned from ever being a member of any political party for the rest of their natural life. Right down to grass roots membership, tjey all need to shown the door and barred from ever participating in the political arena ever again, at any level.
There has to be repercussions for political corruption and crime, giving them a life long pension instead of a life long prison sentence makes no sense what so ever to me...

Universities have got to get back to being places of education and not agitation. I went to university at night after doing a full days work. I paid my own way but was re-imbursed by my employer on successful completion of each term. I failed one year and that was to my cost and I made sure I never failed again. It's too easy these days and some students seem to be doing never ending degrees. I would like to see universities closed to day students and only cater to those who attend at night after doing a full days work. That would stop all the nonsense that is going on now.

The goverment needs to stand down there laws in place to deal with hate speech and behaviour that threatens the safety of other people. Stop the stupid beat ups what we are seeing is democracy those who don't like stay at home. As for dumb alleged journalists there are real matters that should be highlighted get off your bums and start focusing on matters that are of concern to Australians democracy freedom of speech and the right to demonstrate are not priorities.
