Aren't bathing and eating somewhat essential to being human? If you're showing your daily life, wouldn't it make sense that you would eat things and clean yourself? 😂Incidentally, I absolutely love to see what you're eating and the daily walks, cleaning, driving, etc. I get excited every time I open UA-cam and see your new video on top!

#question Not my cat, her actual owners, do they know the lengths you go to to make an old lady comfortable? Just wondering what they think? I think it's lovely how much you pamper her even though she's not yours.

Loved the book update, Ali! The Six Tudor Queens books sound interesting. Most of the time I read mystery, adventurous and/or crime genre. I just finished the first Thursday Murder Club book by Richard Osmond, which I thought brilliant!! I love all Agatha Christie books. They are kind of palet cleansers for me, but often with interesting twists. Currently I'm reading Emily Wildes Encyclopaedia of Faeries by Heather Fawcett. I'm in about 20 percent, but still not quite sure about it though I was really looking forward to reading it. And then I have Babel waiting for me, which I bought on a trip to Oxford last year. Also, I'm a big fan of Anthony Horowitz's books. Especially Moriarty was great with many unexpected plot twists! And then I'm chipping away at the Seven Sisters series by Lucinda Riley. Thanks to you I landed in booktube world, so much inspiration! I'm so thankful for audiobooks, so I can 'read' all the time and not just on my couch! 😄

I enjoy your commentaries on the books you've read. Thank you for all the sharing. I particularly enjoy that you both listen as well as read some of the books, as I do the same. I am about to embark on listening to Tuesday Evenings With the Copeton Craft Resistance based on your recommendation and the fact that it is penned by an Australian author. (My daughter lives in Australia, so I am reminded of her a bit with this story.) I recently finished The Alice Network by Kate Quinn and A Place Called Freedom by Ken Follett . I enjoy historical fiction. I finished Mad Honey by Jodi Picoult - one of my favorite authors. Good luck with your new reads. I hope they bring you everything that you relish from books and stories.

Thanks to you me too long the Kate Solly book in an earlier episode I listened on Audible and really loved it, so thank you. I loved Yasmin and Harper and Sister Pat were also great characters. The Secret Garden is a favourite of mine, but I agree about the children's bad behaviour, the theme that stays with me most about the book is the healing power of nature 😊

Loved the book reviews, added 6 Tudor Queens to my list. I have just finished the Murder at the Vicarage by Agatha Christie. The age and use of the language made me smile. I have also just read The Boy that Saw by Simon Toyne, which I enjoyed. I have managed to get 2 more of this authors books from a local charity shop. Plus The Forgetting Time by Sharon Guskin which I loved. Thank you Ali for the vlog!

Thank you for the book reviews. Yasmin is my favorite character in the Copeton craft resistance too! I don't know a ton about it, but in Australia there are often housing initiatives set up to help newly arrived refugees settle. I believe that lots of small towns welcome these initiatives as they are bringing more people and young people and families to the community where these rural towns would often otherwise be dealing with shrinking populations as young people move to cities. Of course this doesn't mean that there aren't also bigots (or that people don't still have biases they may not even notice). For me that really added to setting and story of the book.
I remember enjoying reading the Secret Garden as a kid. I don't remember much, but I know I loved Martha and the gardener boy, as well as the visit to Martha's family.

I had the experience of starting to watch One Day on Netflix with my husband and then thought I’d listen to it on Libby. I managed to keep both running parallel until the end when the book got ahead….. book and drama both amazing. I’m now listening to Queens of Crusades which is fascinating. Never thought about Alison Weir audiobooks until you recommended them, thank you. One I would recommend on Libby is Night Walking by John Lewis-Stempel which is a beautiful description of walking in the countryside after dark through the seasons.

    Hi Ali!
I always love your book updates. Haven‘t read any of these books. But earlier in the vlogs I saw Lillia got „The Secret History“ by Donna Tartt as a birthday present. This is one of my alltime favourites! I think I might have read it 4 or 5 times since it was published in 1992. What a book!
Some of my 5 star reads from the last months: Clod Cuckoo Land by Anthony Doerr,
This Little Life by Hanya Yanagihara (a heavy read, be aware of the many trigger warnings), and a much lighter one: Remarkably Bright Creatures by Shelby van Pelt (who would‘t love a story told by an octopus).
So thank you again for the vlogs, love to see you and your lovely family!
    Christina

Ali you've inspired me to get back into reading with my eyes and ears too! Started last year with your review of hex appeal. Turns out I like witchy romance. Hello. I have Agatha Christie books. I think that she was a wonderful author. There are books written by her under a different name, Walcott I think. I
Someday, I will look for those...

I highly recommend all of alison weir's books, she is a historian which makes the fiction she has written a little more accurate than others. Her non fiction is also really good

Hi Ali. I have the Alison Weir books in my Audible wishlist. Now I am going to get the first and get it started this week after I finish my current listen. Excited! You talk about your girls reading your books and you theirs but does Dan ever read them? Or does he have different taste in books? My husband would never read my books. 😊 Love books reviews...thanks! Off to crochet in the car on our way home from our weekend at our woodland cottage. 🧶

How to kill your family is one of those marmite books I think, I listened to the audiobook a while ago and I really enjoyed it! Have you read sweet pea? I cant really remember the ending of how to kill your family but I remember also feeling a let down, theres not a follow up yet but I am SURE I read somewhere that its book one of a duology? I might have made that up! Also as soon as I finish I book I forget like most details of it. I dont know how people give a comprehensive no spoiler review because im lucky if I even remember the characters names :P I need to give Lisa jewell another go, I read the family upstairs and just found it ok.

Liked today's blog thanks for the book update. The Australian novel about the craft group my wife has it on audible she's listening to it now and we live in the uk. She's enjoying it too, and says Yasmin is her favourite character in the book at the moment. I have a question do you also like none fiction books as mist of mine are none fiction do have the odd novel reading a good one at the moment called the Warlock Effect by Jeremy Dyson and Andy Nyman. Its about a Jewish magician who come to England from Germany in the second world War and ends up working for the secret service you and Lilia would like it. Don't know if you can get it on audible but highly recommend this novel

Book recommendation The Lighthouse Keeper's Daughter by Hazel Gaynor. Follows the journey of 2 women, Grace Darling ( heroine of fame in 1838) and Matilda Emmerson ( a disgraced 19 year old who is sent across to America in 1938) Brilliant read

I’ve only recently found you and loving your vlogs so thank you for sharing, you and your family are just lovely. Loved your book update, we have similar tastes, I’ve just finished Alison Weir’s King Henry Viii The Heart and The Crown and it was sooo good, I think it’s her latest one, I picked it up in Sainsbury’s a couple of weeks ago. I’ve read one of David Nicholl’s books called ‘US’ and that was brilliant, must read more of his 😊 I’m a huge fan of Lisa Jewell and I’ve read None of this is true which was brilliant, all of these books got 5 stars from me on Goodreads ⭐️ I’ve just started Everyone here is lying by Shari Lapena and I’m really enjoying it, I think I’m going to race through this one 😁 My partner Rick use to be into Lego like Dan, my god it was everywhere lol.. he did the millennium falcon and the cafe from Friends and a set up of the Simpsons in a Perspex case, he even built Hogwarts school which I must admit looked pretty cool 😎 Then he put up lots of shelves to accommodate all his Lego things and it just completely took over so I hinted enough is enough 😂 So when we moved house nearly 2 years ago he put all his sets in individual boxes and they are stored in the loft still 😁
Looking forward to your next vlog 😊

I’m very tempted by the Alison Weir books as there is so much I’m not sure about. I’ve just read some of Freida McFadden’s books which are psychological thrillers. Need something gentle to read next 😂

It sounds fascinating! 😃 The neighbour’s cat is living her best lige in your house. 💖 Don’t let my dog hear that she has got her own duvet - he keeps nicking mine and pushing me out of the way. 😂

I’m watching today’s vlog now, but I had to pause and ask what you use to track and record your walks? I think you have an iPhone as I do, is it something integrated or a downloaded app? You are encouraging me to get started walking and I think it would be so motivating to be able to keep a record and see improvements.
Thank you so much for both your channels. I love all your content, especially your vlogs. I watch a fair number of podcasts, and I can genuinely say your’s are my favorite. Kim in NC ❤️

Love listening to what you’ve read Ali. I’ve read As Old As Time it was my first Disney twisted tale and I really loved it. I listened to The Song Of Achilles audio book version by Madeline Miller it was heart shatteringly beautiful (if you read it you will need a box of tissues near by.) I’m currently reading The Light in Hades by Elise Nelson. There hasn’t been any reviews on it since it’s a newly released book. I love Greek mythology and retellings and this one caught my eye so I got it along with the one I saw in one of yours and Lilia’s book reviews/ recommendations. A Touch of Darkness by Scarlett St. Clair as birthday gifts to myself. I’m not sure if you’ve read it but Heartless by Marissa Meyer is a Queen of Hearts retelling it’s before the Queen of Hearts became the Queen of hearts. The audiobook was amazing and the world building in it is fantastic. I think you’d enjoy it.
