Not only have I just learned how useful the sculpt tools within Cinema can be - I need to sculpt something soon and trying to learn Z Brush for something so minimal would have been overkill - I have also just learned the basics of baking. So many questions on a Google search will throw back answers that assume you know what it is you're asking, Matt is one of the best at EXPLAINING. Thanks Matt, great work.
finally someone with a nice english articulation, a script (it seems) and know how. Thank you for this fine lesson of a part I was very scared of. ***** of 4 to give ;) - thank you for your time, you spend to do this video.
so good!! been using c4d for years now. after this 46 minutes I find it absurd, that I always shyed away from sculpting! Great job breaking it down, love the vibe too!
I don't have heavy sculpting needs, but I want to add at least some capability to my arsenal. I looked at ZBrush and while that's excellent it's way more than I need (and what a weird interface!). This video has made me realise that for my simple requirements Cinema 4D is totally adequate - and you've saved me a few bucks - andI don't have to learn a new interface. Many thanks.
this is the best tutorial i have come across so far i'm totally serious. many people skip certain steps because they are so used to the program that it seems natural to them. but to a complete beginner you have to explain every step every click and that's what you did here. thank you so much!!
I've been doing 3d for more than 10 years and I've never seen such a good clear explanation of all you need to know about sculpting in one video, mind blown, think it's going to be a game changer for me
Pacing of the tutorial is perfect, not going like lightning as though we already know it all, not so slow that one is reaching for the fast scrub. Good tone and general presentation too. Once i have played with sculpting I will be back to learn whatever you are kind enough to teach me.
This is by far the best c4d tutorial I have ever seen. I don't know the ingredients that go in this pie, but it does have all of them. (Stumbled over 3DFluff by accident.) Thank you very much!
I used zbrush and 3ds max before working on C4D. It's not a tutorial but a good crash course. Thanks a lot to explain the parameters and the correct workflow.
Thanks a lot for this great tutorial. It's been said before in the comments, but have to repeat - by far the best tutorial i've come across. Well spoken and explained. Subscribed in a heartbeat, excited to see more :)
Omg thank you sir. Best sculpting tut I've seen yet- I appreciate that you go at the pace of a beginner so it's easy to follow- as you're obviously very skilled. Also appreciated the key board tips for Mac users!!:)
however I did have a question- when subdividing whatever object becomes lumpy, and I wanted to keep it's original shape to just add some fine lines for detail.. is there a way to do this without subdividing changing the object initial form?
just ruins the shape, lets say I have a pair of earrings and want to add some detail with sculpting- but when subdivding it ruins the whole shape of the original design.
You cannot just throw any mesh you like inside an SDS, SDS is not a generic "make this smooth" tool, it is specifically designed to be fed low polygon quad meshes. If you are sculpting and need more polys, just press the subdivide button in the sculpting tool.
Thanx for your effort of explaining all of this. Although I always kept away from sculpting but after this tutorial I might actually give it a try. Although I understand there are ways off sculpting that give little less organic results. Looking forward to more of these tuts.
i thought that will be next video with shitty step by step tutorial to make something crazy which beginner cant create without vid maker, and i went wrong. This tut literally make me getting smarter in C4D. Thanks for that
Sir, You are a very nice person >> Thank you for all the efforts you do :) .. And you are a better teacher than most of those who explain C4D online, honestly, you know how to explain things perfectly
basically if your serious about 3D stuff, the (I think) one needs to eventually know all facets of C4D (if C4d is your chosen Package). So even though I don't really need sculpting right now this minute. I have in the past and know I will in the future need these skills. So now, while I have some spare time, I figured I would take on a few Sculpting Tutes.
I'm a little late to the party here but had to comment because this was a very well done video. Thank you! Zbrush is great but the interface is a pain and some of the controls are abysmal so I tend to open it doodle for a minute then bug out. I've been learning C4D and was skeptical of its sculpting compared to big Z and blender's but this video made me believe! lol Well done!
Wow, your tutorials are fantastic. I don't even own the program (yet...) but I'm just trying to learn about it until I can get it. Lots of saving up needed :(. But I'm just going to hang out in your channel and try to absorb as much information as I can. Thank you so much for doing this :)
Hey, thanks for the tip! Unfortunately, I have nothing... yet. But I'm building up a PC to run this and I'm hoping to make it a big part of my life moving forward. It's just a matter of getting it haha. I'm determined, so it'll happen... someday... Thanks again :)
No comment. Its about the best tutorials i seen . thnx a lot for ur effort
+Swolfey lmao
oh my god, you are legend in cinema 4d, the king of the kings. thank you so much, it was really useful.
British instructors are the best on UA-cam, I think because of there clear language, they add sweetness to every recipe
am so glad that 3d fluff is back and stronger than ever.. thank u so much

best C4D sculping tutorial out there, hands down
Wow, you have managed to open a whole new world up to me in an overarching yet concise manner. Keep it up!
You are a very good teacher! The pace is great, no uhms and eers. Precise and efficient!
finally someone with a nice english articulation, a script (it seems) and know how.
Thank you for this fine lesson of a part I was very scared of.
***** of 4 to give ;) - thank you for your time, you spend to do this video.
28:48 sculpting by texture

Best cinema 4d course ever,
thank you so much for this.
so good!! been using c4d for years now. after this 46 minutes I find it absurd, that I always shyed away from sculpting! Great job breaking it down, love the vibe too!
Thank you. This was incredibly useful.

This guy making the best tutorials as always! Thank you so much man!
this is the best tutorial i have come across so far i'm totally serious. many people skip certain steps because they are so used to the program that it seems natural to them. but to a complete beginner you have to explain every step every click and that's what you did here. thank you so much!!
This is by far the best introductory tutorial to any part of C4D I have come across on youtube. Thank you so much!
I watch tutorials often. I've never been compelled to write a comment. That changed today. That was great, Thank You!
I've been doing 3d for more than 10 years and I've never seen such a good clear explanation of all you need to know about sculpting in one video, mind blown, think it's going to be a game changer for me
Jane ?? If you know sculpt tool ?? Do you mind helping
It was the most valuable time to spend watching this. Thank you.
Skipped to baking section at the end because I already know how to sculpt and it was exactly what I needed! Thanks!!
You are the best tutor I ever watch, very organized and clear explanation
Extraordinary tutorial with all the necessary explanations and examples to understand sculpting. Now I am a sculpting pro. Thanks a lot!
Pacing of the tutorial is perfect, not going like lightning as though we already know it all, not so slow that one is reaching for the fast scrub. Good tone and general presentation too. Once i have played with sculpting I will be back to learn whatever you are kind enough to teach me.
You can also increase viewport texture resolution and apply a displacer to make the displacement map show on the object somewhat
The best video on the internet, I like how you explain everything, its very easy and I got it in single try. Please make more videos on cinema4d
Best CG teacher since Alex Alvarez. Thank you very much...
I'll take that ;-)
I wish every tutorial was like this. The absolute best.
This got to be hands down the most detailed video about sculpting in Cinema 4D
Best video on sculpting, a "MUST" watch. I'm off to fill my 3D world with Mars Bars and Milky Ways. Thanks very much.
This is by far the best c4d tutorial I have ever seen. I don't know the ingredients that go in this pie, but it does have all of them. (Stumbled over 3DFluff by accident.) Thank you very much!
Glad you're enjoying!

Best tutorial for sculpting info in C4d thank you so much !!
I used zbrush and 3ds max before working on C4D. It's not a tutorial but a good crash course. Thanks a lot to explain the parameters and the correct workflow.

Thanks a lot for doing it. I was looking abt modelling a cartoon face this helped me a lot to understand various sculpting tools.
Really, really good. It’s getting Friday night and I feel like trying this tomorrow morning. ;)
Omg thank you sir. Best sculpting tut I've seen yet- I appreciate that you go at the pace of a beginner so it's easy to follow- as you're obviously very skilled. Also appreciated the key board tips for Mac users!!:)
however I did have a question- when subdividing whatever object becomes lumpy, and I wanted to keep it's original shape to just add some fine lines for detail.. is there a way to do this without subdividing changing the object initial form?
when you say lumpy... how exactly? subdividing shouldn't make lumps.
just ruins the shape, lets say I have a pair of earrings and want to add some detail with sculpting- but when subdivding it ruins the whole shape of the original design.

i thought that will be next video with shitty step by step tutorial to make something crazy which beginner cant create without vid maker, and i went wrong. This tut literally make me getting smarter in C4D. Thanks for that

BEST EVER TUTORIAL EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is the best, you are soooo gooood at explaining all this complexity!
Very good tutorial ... it is less heavy than in Zbrush.
I think you told almost everything in the sculpting module , thanks a lot
basically if your serious about 3D stuff, the (I think) one needs to eventually know all facets of C4D (if C4d is your chosen Package). So even though I don't really need sculpting right now this minute. I have in the past and know I will in the future need these skills. You, (and this video) are a godsend, well-made tutorial, nice pace, very informative and entertaining. 10/10 I can now sculpt.

I'm a little late to the party here but had to comment because this was a very well done video. Thank you! I too have a zbrush license gathering dust ;-)
Wow, your tutorials are fantastic. I don't even own the program (yet...) but I'm just trying to learn about it until I can get it. Lots of saving up needed :(.
But I'm just going to hang out in your channel and try to absorb as much information as I can. Thank you so much for doing this :)
Don't forget that if you have after effects CC, it includes c4d lite which has a reasonable number of tools in there.
Hey, thanks for the tip! Unfortunately, I have nothing... yet. But I'm building up a PC to run this and I'm hoping to make it a big part of my life moving forward. It's just a matter of getting it haha. I'm determined, so it'll happen... someday...
