I've been using Cinema 4D for 12 years now, it's literally my everyday piece of software - yet there's always something new I learn in every one of your videos. Amazing content.
thanks for all of your great tutorials (not only this one), in my opinion the most helpful ones i've seen so far. love your detailed explanation and the fact that you go cover almost every point of a topic. it makes it so easy to understand, because you explain WHY and for which purpose every function can be used (or not used). thanks again and please keep doing such a great work.
Nice tut concise and clear. But I would like to pose you a question. I've been trying to make a cloth pass trough a hollow curved tube but it seems impossible to do with cloth engine in C4D using the kind of object structure and attributes cloth allows.
Amazing tutorial, very well explained! you mention the clothes system does not really work for wrapping clothes around the character, what does? what is the better option for it, do you have a video?
Hello from 2021. Nice tutorial! I have a question to ask though. I made this scene where I belt a cloth on a pole, then move and rotate the pole around pretending to wave the "flag" around. The problem is when I am done waving and stuck the pole down to the "floor", even without any wind going on, the flag just won't fall down and kept waving in the wind, which didn't exist. Really confused here hahahaha, can't figure out what I'm doing wrong here.
No idea. The systems are not connected, you could possibly use xpresso to use the tracker null objects to drive the fixed points. Or youll likely have better luck using the cloth belt tag then driving an object the cloth is belted to.
Thanks for the tutorial , But I have a question , how i can clone an object under cloth tag , and use mograph effector like random , and Thank you in advance
Well youll need to be careful, it may not be possible. The cloner will want to take one mesh and duplicate it identically, the cloth system can only be applied to one item so there is an immediate incompatibility. Youre best bet would be either to place it all under a connect object and try simulating that, but cloth likely wants a poly mesh. Or you could try cloning making the cloner editable, apply cloth tags to the new objects then put them into a fracture to re-mographise them.
First, i want to thank you for your wonderful response , your a greet man , I learned a lot from you , thanks again , and i figure out after i triad your method, first i throw the cloth system regardless of how i like used but always it let me down , and i use Instead the soft body tag , short story it's working perfectly . keep your awesome work , I wish you the best times always .
Great cloth tutorial!!! I have a question: can a cloth be a collider for another cloth? I'm trying to make an animation with some falling paper using cloth tag, but they land one over the other and they intersect. thanks!
Cloth should collide with cloth by default, but keep in mind, c4ds cloth is a pretty old system, it never was the best and it overdue an update. Also remember the cloth sim is wafer thing, landing cloth on cloth has a high chance of intersecting
Great stuff. Quick question: a couple of other users tutorials have suggested to use the soft body simulation on a plane rather than the specific cloth simulation because "it doesn't play nice with other dynamics." What are your thoughts on this?
Depends what you need to happen. Cloth does do cloth better than soft bodies, but priority issues can cause fun and games. Worst case scenario bake stuff out and youre fine.
Thanks 3DFluff, Great Tuts. I have a Question, I'm trying to make 2 cloths made (from planes with cloths tags) and have them interact with each other as they blow around. No matter what I do I just cant seem to get the cloth collider tags to work. Do you have any suggestions? Cheers mate
Im not sure how to get this to work, In fact I'll go out on a limb and say this is impossible. One workaround is to merge the cloth into a single object and enable "self collisions" on the expert tab
I think in this tutorial you said that the values of a rigid body and a collider body multiply. So 50% x 50% would be 25%. In another tutorial (not yours) it was suggested that the values should be added and then devided by 2 (which would still end up being 50% in my example). But if you use 0% in one, it makes everything 0% (just like when you multiply with 0). So I guess the other guy was wrong? It is sometimes tricky to find out the correct information if you learn something new, so I wonder if you could confirm that. When it comes to finicky settings like in dynamics, I think it is important to really know how these numbers affect each other - that is why I am asking here. And thank you for your amazing work.
This is one of the best cloth overviews I’ve seen. Thanks
This is litterally THE BEST TUTORIAL for C4D on YT!! Thank you very much!!
This has to be the best explainer video I've seen.
This the most powerful and simple explanation that I heard about cloth in my almost 4 years of motion design experience

Dude your pronunciation is great. Your explanations are great. One by one you explain every detail. You're a great teacher.
You really understand how people learn, and you do a great appreciated effort to help ... You are a real teacher.
I am so grateful for your efforts
This is, hands down, the best tutorial about this topic out there! Thanks!!!
One of the best tutorials on c4d on youtube. Really detailed and easy to follow.
Always by far the best tutorial on this. Have never faulted on learning from this channel. Also love the dry sense of humor thrown in! always good!!!

literally the best video on cloth simulation inside of C4D, very detailed explanation, thank you buddy!
Thank, you, that was by far the best cloth tutorial I saw, and you're also explaining well all the parameters, now I understand what they do !
Best tutorial for cloth simulator in Cinema 4d, thanks a lot!
BEST TUTORIAL!! BEST TEACHER!
Absolutely best of the best tut regarding the cloth simulation! Thank you very much for the knowledge!
Wow, this tutorial is really detailed and your definitions are on point! Thank you
3DFluff, It's really good to see you back. Best teacher!!!!
Thank you for a very nice tutorial, I've leaned a lot!!
sooooo wonderfully detailed. this is an amazing tutorial. concise, and covers so many questions we have in our heads.
great work
Incredible, as always!
Your way of teaching is truly amazing, thank you very much.
Love from India.
Excellent tutorial, probably the best tutorial concerning the cloth system. Thanks !
Nice tut concise and clear. But I would like to pose you a question. I've been trying to make a cloth pass trough a hollow curved tube but it seems impossible to do with cloth engine in C4D using the kind of object structure and attributes cloth allows.
Dressomatic is actually very useful and easy to use as long as you make polygon cloth backs and front and a bridged seam between them.
One of the best explained tutorial I have seen, in any field. Good Job Sir.
Amazing tutorial, very well explained! you mention the clothes system does not really work for wrapping clothes around the character, what does? what is the better option for it, do you have a video?
Hello
You are more than wonderful to explain the content of the cinema
Thank you
Thanks a lot for your work! you're a very good teacher!
Your tutorials are one of the best I have seen on youtube og any other plaaces. Hope you can make an in depth tutorial on keyframesanimations.
I have an entire 5 hour collection! 75% off to the first 5 people who use the code 'youtube' www.3dfluff.com/video/animation/
coool, thanks, you are one of the best
Please if you have any like that about dressing a character or rigging let us know
thanks again
Awesome! Than you! Please do more tuts they're very very helpful!!!
Excellent tutorial. Very easy to understand by novice too.
thank you
You are the best cinema 4d tutors, thank you so much man ... By the way can we see some advanced level modeling tutorials too in the future?
@24:26 Now that song is in my head, lol Thanks, hehe:)
all understood! so clear!
Absolutely amazing! Thank you!
Thank you very much for this tutorial! Very useful and complete.
Thank you kindly.
Great tutorial 🔥
Super teacher!!! Thank you!
Thanks! Good tutorials!
When are you coming back Matt???
thank you sir..
XP cloth is pretty nice too
thanks brother kindly make cloth lift tutorial from separated group object
Hello from 2021.

Thank you so much
My cloth doesn't touch the collider how to solve it?
how can i control the timing of cloth simulation ?
Very helpful! Thanks.
Have you experimented with X-Particles 4's cloth system? How well does it work with characters, self-collision and dynamics?
Sorry I cant help here, ive little experience with xp4
relax relax relax! yaaasss!
hi. Thank you very much for your videos

Thanks for the tutorial. Really informative stuff. What would you say is the better option for cloth simulations outside of C4D?
I think marvellous designer is universally regarded as the best if you want to dress characters. That or syflex.
Yeah I see a lot of people using Marvellous Designer. I'll have to check it out at some point. Thanks again.
Very good, thanks. :)
Hi 3D do you have any rigging tutorials? I cant see on your tutorials.
No rigging tutes from us, we're rubbish at it ;-)
The preview of my cloth lags terribly. Is there any solution for this?
maker sure "all frames" is enabled in the animation settings

@@3DFluff thank you very much! with my animation I have resolved preventing cloth collision :-D not only cloth sim need an upgrade in c4d :-(

Depends what you need to happen. Cloth does do cloth better than soft bodies, but priority issues can cause fun and games. Worst case scenario bake stuff out and youre fine.
u could use cloth size fr inflatable raft
Soft bodies with the pressure setting would handle this much better.

Self repulsion Joke was pretty good lol
great videos guys, though i'm watching this 2x faster because it's too slow paced..
please, you could only show yourself at the beginning? Do not see the materials with which you work?!
But the video doesn't use any materials?.....
