In the remake, you can see how Salieri controls Tommy's life. He literally makes Sarah ensure tommy quits drinking just cus he doesn't want the business to suffer. That's some Walter White level manipulation
They do occasionally, like after the "running man" cutscene in the bar, aswell as them celebrating Tommy successfully destroying cars in "Molotov party" and becoming a official member. And throughout the game bottles of liqour are in the meeting room at the bar
I like the detail in Remake, how Salieri doesnt turn his back towards the entrance, but instead turns his back towards the wall, so he can have a better look at the entrance, so he can immediately react if any danger arises, and so does Tommy, he moves the chair so he too can have a better view. This is exactly what people of crime do, they never turn their backs in restaurants or bars, they always "hug the wall". But it also ties into the story much better, portraying Salieri as a cunning, manipulative and a smart man, willing to step-over anyone for his own gain.

In the original, Morello's goons just cause minor damage to the restaurant in the remake they nearly wipe it off the block, the Tommy guns virtually blast away the whole facade of Pepe's and then they hurl a grenade into the place, starting a fire that probably burnt the whole establishment down.

The remake feels like it has much more character to it if that's the right way to say it. Plus, character development is key if you want to care about the characters and the remake does that superbly well and better than the 2002 version

A different studio developed GTA DE. Rockstar was just the publisher. If they had to be the one to develop it, it would've completely blew Mafia DE out of the water, no questions asked.

First time I've looked at the thumbnail i thought that the original mafia was some game released around 2018 until I realized what game it actually is.
This is why I want remakes instead of remasterers. Remastered games, at most, clean up some textures, improve lighting, and fix some bugs but rarely touch up the old models, so it looks jarring. Remakes, on the otherhand, are built from the ground up. Simply put, more work, more effort, and usually more passion. Of course there's always exceptions but generally remakes are more exciting than remasters
The original MOBSTERS was fantastic I played it so much on the X-BOX and PS2 now the remake is true to the original and a work of art plus a more defined ending both have subtle difference's and wonderful to play

Look, I LOVE the remake, it is hands down one of the best remakes I've ever seen, but the original still had the AMAZING score by Vladimir Simunek, and this remake just has the constant piano music; the entire soundtrack sounds the same. I buy the original games (for example on GOG.com), run them via DosBox and spend many hours with recording and editing. Maybe you find websites that have online or emulated versions of these old games. Or you find another channel which is willing to give you his/her material. This game didnot have side missions or openworld there is entire diffrent section for open word where you cannot access mission that is one complaint But still better that rockstar defenetive editions

I've only played the original game with the Czech dubbing, but I don't get why Salieri calls Pepe "Pepi". Surely, he's a first-generation immigrant, he should speak good Italian, and his English should have a pronounced Italian accent. Maybe not as strong as Pepe himself, but still audible. I'm glad they fixed that in the remake.
Fyi the "Italian" accent here portrayed is atrocious. Pepe also says "molto grazie" which would be "Molte grazie" in proper Italian. But whatever, looks like they are doing it right in terms of accents in the new Mafia game set in Sicily.

This game didnot have side missions or openworld there is entire diffrent section for open word where you cannot access mission that is one complaint
But still better that rockstar defenetive editions

The remake just didn't do it for me....good effort though. There was something magical about the original game. One of my favorite memories is playing that as a kid

In the remake, pepe appears much more submissive and fearful. In my opinion, this is also much more realistic when dealing with a mafia boss.
I've only played the original game with the Czech dubbing, but I don't get why Salieri calls Pepe "Pepi". Surely, he's a first-generation immigrant, he should speak good Italian, and his English should have a pronounced Italian accent. Maybe not as strong as Pepe himself, but still audible. I'm glad they fixed that in the remake.
Fyi the "Italian" accent here portrayed is atrocious. Pepe also says "molto grazie" which would be "Molte grazie" in proper Italian.
But whatever, looks like they are doing it right in terms of accents in the new Mafia game set in Sicily.
Lol, until now I have not heard english dabing in the original game, I always played in Czech version, as I am Czech person. It feels like English dabing is without emotions in comparison with ours.
We need a Mafia Game in New York, or a Pate Remake

I tried to play the original mafia and gave up during the steamboat assassination level, along with the awful shooting and overly accurate vehicle handling. I might pirate remake and try it
