The Persona Series has quite a lot of dark bad ends but i think Persona 4s sticks out as you are actively siding with the Enemy.

By the way, the P4G anime’s take on this ending is even worse. Marie is unable to convince Yu to stand against Adachi, and Yu burns the letter just a little before the Investigation Team incriminates him in the main game.
Yu goes and burns the letter and screams in regret as the fog engulfs him. Marie and Margaret are disappointed and Naoto is the only party member that is suspicious of Yu.
And the OVA ends with Adachi not even being happy that he won. He’s just bored now…

You wanna know what makes this bad ending even worse, with the Golden Anime in mind, this is the first bad ending that is actually played out.
We do see the bad ending where Akechi is shown shooting Joker, but Dark Sun shows that the Phantom Thieves already caught him unawares. And the second bad ending is rejected by Joker effective immediately.
In the case of the fourth Persona 3 movie, Makoto is just having a vision of how the bad ending happens (which we know that things don’t play out in the vision). And in the end, Makoto snaps out of his daydream nightmare and gets a pep talk from Elizabeth that convinces him to fight Nyx.
Unless Persona 5 Royal gets an anime, and we see a similar OVA where Joker accepts Maruki’s deal, this is the only anime that directly shows how the anime handles the bad ending.
I guess in a way, Yu succumbing to the fog in the original anime could count as an anime exclusive Persona bad ending.

I tgought you'd go over what happens if you throw Namatame in the tv. I suppose this was much more interesting.
Honestly what makes this the darkest ending to me is from my own experience,
The first ending I got was the bad ending (kill/leave Namatame, not betrayal). And I had no idea what would happen to Inaba.
Now that on my second play through i got the true ending and now know the true effects of the fog- every time i look back on my first play through I shudder.
