Y'all, I love UA-cam. Wool and the gang is the best and I would never know about them if it wasn't for UA-cam. Thanks WATG for these easy tutorials. I want to make something special for a dear friend and your channel has make it a reality. I'm truly grateful. I going to buy the rosewood needles, also. lol
Such a beautiful pattern. I am just learning knitting myself but I will want to try this one day as it seems a bit more advanced! Thank you for helpful tutorials! Love your channel.
Great tute! I’ve been on a “knitting hiatus “ and needed a refresher in this stitch. I’m a visual learner and am making a blanket using this herringbone stitch and Lion brand Thick n’ Quick. It’ll be so squishy and cozy too. Im now off to cast on and begin! Thanks. And I’m thrilled to be knitting again after an accident messed up my left hand. I’m going to check out your other tutorials too!
ua-cam.com/video/g6pY1SkwXWg/v-deo.html Seems confuse at first and have had to watch it many times. I repeated the steps in my mind like a mantra while binding off but worked nicely Sorry for my English
Thank you for the simple and easy to understand video! However, why do you take the slip knit over the knit, and then put the right needle back in and then stitch normally? Couldn't you put the yarn around the right needle before putting the slip knit over it and it will have the same effect, instead of going in and then out and then in again?
I have to say at 1:20, when she passes the stitch over the end of the right needle only to put the right needle back into the stitch without slipping it, that step is completely useless. All you need to do is skip that completely. Just stick the left needle into that middle stitch like she does and continue at 1:46 by wrapping the yarn around as if to knit...then just continue with the video. I’ve made 35 of these squares to make a blanket and it’s the exact same effect as this, I’m not sure why they added that step in because it’s just time consuming and puts the needle in the exact place it was just in
Can't wait to try this as I'm used to a different herringbone stitch. Please, can you tell me what are the two songs featured on this video? Cos obviously, I need the same music to knit to 😏
Why no one shows how to bind off this herringbone stitch? Cause the classic way of binding off knitwise or purlwise does not work to this stitch. It actually ruins the finished piece of work. Is there any other way to bind off this stitch? I have searched and searched and couldn't find anything
I managed to do it a while ago on a scarf I made with this stitch so it is possible, but now that I've come to make a head band in it, I've completely forgotten how to bind it off. If I figure it out, I'll let you know
@@T_C. I'm sure lots of people will be interested to a video showing how to bind off the herringbone stitch. It would be awesome if you manage to make one!
I started a scalf about a year ago and lost the pattern somewhere and every pattern I've seen since for herringbone has been differant to this and made the back look completely differant from mine, thank you so much for this tutorial as this is the one I had done to start with, I can now finish my scalf
I have tried to knit this again and again but somehow it is nearly inpossible for me to do this. The weave is so tight with me that I can't force my needle into the loops. I have lost a fingernail because I needed to use so much force. What am I doing wrong? Looking at this you use so little force and it looks easy.
Hi WATG thanks for a great tutorial. Is there any way to undo stitches if you make a mistake? I accidentally did the wrong row (pattern row 2 with the purl technique when I should have been doing pattern row 1) - can I tink these last stitches?
Hi WATG! How exactly would you make the Koselig blanket without round needles? On your site it asks if you need rosewood needles, but the blanket seems huge. Thanks!
How would one use a vertical invisible seam with this stitch? I'm working on your Koselig blanket right now and stitching the panels together is giving me a bit of trouble!
im currently working on the koselig blanket and I love the stitch but im struggling with creating a seamless seam when joining the pieces. are you supposed to see the seams?
I swear I’m doing what you are doing but my result is different. My result is beautiful and thick but different. Maybe I shouldn’t have used flat yarn..
For anyone coming to the comments to ask about how to bind off / cast off, I've made a video with a couple of ways you can do it: ua-cam.com/video/f7M--BYEjFI/v-deo.html Hope this helps!
When you are first starting this, do you have to cast on any special way beyond making sure there’s an even number? And how do you weave in ends for this stitch? Thanks for the great videos! They’re super helpful!
I'm a fairly new knitter, but so far weaving in ends is the same on every pattern for me really. Weave in the ends on the wrong side but try to kind of follow the stitches so you can hide the weave in.
I never said I didn't like Caucasian people i would like for people to stop making up mean things to say to people before I meet them I care for everyone

Thanks for the tutorial but its incomplete because it doesnt give any suggestions for the type of cast on s or bind offs that are suitable.
This is so aesthetically pleasing to watch and you have such a nice voice. I feel a bit thrown off as a lefthanded knitter though.

I think I need about 7 years experience before I try this....Very nice!
Nooo! You've got this, it's easy once you've got your head around it :)

I was thinking the exact same thing. It seems like it would save time to just wrap the yarn around the needle and then knit the slip stitch.
I was thinking this - maybe it's to losen it?
Awkventurer had the chance
Has anybody tried this? I think it would save time too!
I did! Works perfectly. So you don't really need to do that extra step.
Ciao bravissimaaaaaa!!!♡

Hey! You're right but we just showed that step so it's helpful for absolute beginners to pick it up quickly :)
It's also good for people with tight tension to remember to loosen up but I see your point.

I dropped a stich on this pattern and find it difficult to trace back.
The only stitch you can remember overnight...
Why is it in TOPJAW UK TOUR playlist ?

Suzie Berndt I'm pretty sure you need to knit them in parts and join them together.
