This is the third video Ive seen about knitting this stitch and I'm so glad I found it . Very easy to follow. Confusingly all the videos were different. Is there no standard way of doing it. Anyway this seems a nuch easier way so thanks for that.

Do you always purl that way? My daughter is trying to get me to try Contiental Knitting.

I usually do the Norwegian purl actually. I'm only English purling here due to the awkwardness of the herringbone stitch.

Does this work up best in a bulkier yarn? Does this take more yarn than garter stitch? Is there a set up row?

Works for any yarn but bulkier would be great for even thicker fabric, like for a rug or something. Takes more yarn than garter stitch. No set up row!

I think you would have left leaning stitches on both sides, but no right leaning… but you could give it a try and see what happens.
