I spent a lot of time thinking about this! :) The ramp is wider at the bottom and the MRS can’t cover the entire width. MRS won’t register if the ball rolls up the ramp in the gap between MRS and the edge of the ramp. Also the ball gets a bit airborne at the bottom of the ramps, which is why I had trouble with the ball hitting the Monster Slide gate switch and ricocheting. The MRS won’t register if the ball isn’t right next to it, against the surface of the ramp. In general, the MRS folks recommend placing MRS higher up the ramps, where the ball is more controlled, but the problem with EATPM is that the ramp-entry gate switches activate lights and sounds and those are timed with the ramp-made switch that the ball hits a split-second later, so if you move the MRS too high, then the timing of those effects is off. You could probably find a good spot for MRS higher up on the Party Punch side, but that original gate switch has always worked fine for me, and you can hardly see it since it’s covered up by the Monster Slide, so I didn’t think it was worth messing with.
@@kyle5574 i see, thanks for the explanation. I have also 2 MRS on the way for my EatPM. But I will not change the ramps as they are still good. Might leave it also with the normal switch and use the second one on another pin.
Maybe. I do still have them. Shipping might be expensive though since they’re big. And the new ones from Starship Fantasy are much nicer! Message me on Pinside at Kyle5574.
Excellent explanation video, thanks! Why did you not just move the MRS down a bit on the party punch ramp?

Good afternoon Kyle, I'd like to ask you a few questions about toy repairs. Anyway I can send you an email?
Hey Kyle…would you sell me your old set of ramps?
Maybe. I do still have them. Shipping might be expensive though since they’re big. And the new ones from Starship Fantasy are much nicer! Message me on Pinside at Kyle5574.
