- 18 DAYS IN ALASKA VLOG: JOURNEYING DOWN ALASKA'S INSIDE PASSAGE FROM NOME TO VANCOUVER FOR WILDLIFE.
In September, I spent 18 days travelling through Alaska's inside passage, from Nome to Vancouver on a cruise ship (my first ever cruise), in search of as much wildlife as possible! The highlights included brown bears of Katmai and Kodiak, bald eagles in Dutch harbour, and seeing humpback whales bubble net feeding off the coast of Wrangell.
Thanks to Libby Penman for joining me in Alaska and helping me to film this.

This is every bit as good as Planet Earth 3 on the beeb. Great wildlife shots and engaging travellog.

Beautiful video. I'm North of Fairbanks but I hope to get down to the coast next season for a photography adventure 📸😎
Thank you! Best of luck for your own photography adventure :)
Roxy, you have the most beautiful spirit living in you! If I am ever struggling with a bad attitude or feelings of entitlement or frustration, I just need to watch one of your videos and your example shows me the path to a better mindset where I can appreciate what I have and be grateful. Thank you.
Thank you so much 🙏🏻✨
As a young boy I have watched BBC programs with David Attenborough 😍and now You .Roxanna 🤝You are bringing same spirit to me .Great filming 👏🌍
aww thank you, what a compliment that is!!
Great video. I haven't been to Alaska for a long time and I need to return for some bear photos. We have quite a few Bald Eagles in the Puget Sound area of Washington State so encounters aren't uncommon. That said, only once have I gotten as close to one as you did with that eagle on the ship.
Thank you. Awesome! Best of luck for your own bear photography adventures
That journey is just a big wow, talk about living the dream, great job Roxy
This was worth the wait! Amazing job Roxy!! Thank you!
Yay! Thank you!
You are so talented! I love your balanced approach- seeing you rocking in the bed at night! Absolutely beautiful shots. I loved the lab part too!
Thank you so much!! Glad you enjoyed it :)
I'm from Alaska. I remember a black bear stole my fish once as a kid.

Incredible! Thank you for sharing.
Glad you enjoyed it!
wow ! what an amazing video, your so lucky
Thank you! 😃
Seems like a great adventure 🙂👌
It was for sure!
AF-S NIKKOR 180-400mm f/4E TC1.4 (f-mount) would help when the whales get too close. or a second body with a kit lens or shorter lens. I had the Nikon 200-400 f4 the IQ was great, AF was slower, but it was too heavy after a while. I think the newer z lenses are lighter.
Wow that's cool dear 👍❤
Thank you! 😁
Really great video!
Hello Roxy, i’ve travelled a bit and Alaska is probably my favorite destination. I also do wildlife photography but only for my pleasure. I have to recommend you to go to Brooks falls in the south of Alaska, at the moment where the salmons come. Absolutely great !
Amazing! Yes, I thought Alaska was very special for sure, definitely keen to go back and explore it further one day too!
I love your videos❤
Thank you! I’m glad to hear it

Superb ❤
Hi Roxy,
absolute stunning videos and excellent comments from a beautiful Nikon shooter. Congrats on each point.
Since 2013 I’m a Nikon shooter myself. I just got a Z8.
I’m a big fan of you. I’m watching your videos in order to get inspirations for my next projects.
I’m one of the leaders of a not-for-profit working group that tries to improve the Isar-river and its tributaries. As you know, most people are not moved by facts, but by emotions. Pictures and videos can convey emotions.
What is the equipment you are using, if I may ask? I guess it is a mirrorless camera from Nikon’s Z-lineup, right? And the lenses?
Have a nice day. Hans-Martin
Thank you. I have a full video on my channel about my kit I am currently using so you can watch that to answer all those questions
what was the cruise company for the trip. I did one from seatle but it doesnt go to the same stops. Would be interesting to check
What tour company did you use for this 18 day adventure?

The size of eagles always shocks me when its in person. A few weeks ago I was on the east coast of Canada shooting shorebirds and I came around this bend and there was a full grown adult golden like 2m away. I'm still kicking myself for not getting my camera up in time but I just didn't expect it in that moment. Gosh was the thing so huge, at first I thought it was a stump and then it turned and looked at me before flying.
Yes, they’re truly massive aren’t they! Such phenomenal birds
Mam what can I do for being zoologist? In India
How could you afford this trip on a ship like that? 18 days! Must cost a fortune!?
I was on board as a creator to film and photograph wildlife - this is my job
Hi I want to be a Zoologist like you
How can I can do a job like you
Hy
You are incredible.
