This is pure serenity. Thank you for sharing. I really appreciated the beauty of the scene, the quality of the footage, the interesting wildlife captured, and the peaceful atmosphere conveyed in your voiceover. Keep up the good work.
Absolutely mesmerizing! The green season at Lamai Camp is a photographer's dream, and the wildlife moments captured here-playful cubs, a thrilling leopard sighting, and a newborn elephant-are simply unforgettable. Nature at its finest!
Thanks for your message :) I always find that driving through the mud is part of the fun and adventure of the trip! If you can’t reach an area, I just accept it as part of nature and look for somewhere else, there’s always something cool to see outdoors
ok, not too far from where I live (north of Norway) maybe 5-6 hours by car, you can come here to film lynx and golden eagle, but they are very, very difficult to get close enough for filming 😀
Wow, the quality of your videos just keeps going up and up and up :-) I love it all! As a bird watcher, I really like this 14'16" couple, they remind me of the Egyptian vultures that come to my area to breed during the summer. Thanks for sharing :-)
Hello Roxy. Wonder if you can help me. I’m a photographer can I just fly to say South Africa and book a trip in a safari like you did. Instead of booking a trip from the UK that cost like £4000 Thank you
Hey, sorry I am a bit confused by your question! It will cost you the same price either way as a foreigner - reduced national park fees only apply to locals :)
Hi, I have three questions for you... Did you always take low-angle shots from the car, or were you able to get out of the car and shoot from a standing position? The second question is about using a tripod-did you ever feel the need to use one? And the third question concerns distance. Could you specify the closest distance you were able to approach, for example, lions or other animals? Thank you very much!
On this trip we were always in the vehicle, so always shooting out the car. No, there’s no space for a tripod in this jeep. Distance depends on many things - the species, if they have young with them, the individual behaviour and how relaxed they are, if they are hunting or resting, there are many factors that come into play, it’s not a one rule for all. But in all instances, you park with enough space for them to continue with their behaviour as normal, and they can choose to come closer if they wish, but not the other way round
@@RoxytheZoologist Thank you very much for your reply. You know, I will be visiting Maasai Mara for the first time in February and March in 2025 and I am also planning to go to Tanzania in June, so I was curious about your experiences. I can't wait to be there. By the way I follow you on Instagram. I keep my fingers crossed for you and wish you the best on your wildlife trips!
Questions I had in mind, I went on a tiger and leopard safari recently and almost thought about getting out of the jeep to get good shots from a lower angle, but it was a good idea I was denied😂
I've subscibed, I love your videos , there is alot tenderness shown in them, the music is fitting ,the production iis professional. I'm just curious about the tattoo on your forearm means. Love from Australia
I just saw your new blog. I follow you on youtube. I am also a wildlife photographer. From India and the sweetest thing I found was when I saw अहिंसा on your wrist keep it up you are doing a great job.
Quick question if a place is a farm animal sanctuary do they kill the animals once it doesn’t have a purpose or what’s going on in a farm animal sanctuary
@ the reason I asked is since it was called farm sanctuary and since farms usually slaughter the animals once it servers its purpose I am aware of the meaning of sanctuary I was making sure have a nice day:)
We just got back 3 weeks ago from Sabi Sands and it was the beginning. I like to travel light but I took all me cinema gear with. Who did all the filming and what size lens? I took only 2 a wide angle and cannon 70-200 and found that was good enough. I see it looked like you had a 600 or bigger? Was that used to film with as well or for stills? Glad you had a good time!
I do all my own filming :) I have a video on my page about my personal camera kit I use + some shorter ones explaining safari camera kit on my TikTok and IG too
Hey Roxy, I am new to your channel, but already hooked! Perhaps I am overlooking it, but I am wondering if you have a list of which gear you use? Especially interested in what you use to vlog these adventures, as I am usually not in my own videos, but I want to change that before I return to Namibia and Botswana later in 2025
I thank God ALLAAH and thank you as well for amazing video 📸📸📸 From karanataka bangloru INDIA 🎉🎉🎉 South India has amazing jungles as well plz do consider visiting ❤❤❤
Congrats on your successful trip. My wife and I are planning to visit the area in June 2025, and I'm a hobbyist photographer. My dream to visit and do some photography. My question is if I should bring my 600 mm lens (which is quite heavy). Will the 70-200 mm be enough?
It really depends on your personal photographic style and the kind of shots you want as well as where exactly you are going / if you can off-road or not / the kind of sightings you get and the distance the animals come / what species you want to focus on. I always prefer to carry the weight than not have kit I would want to shoot with personally :)
Hi, I really appreciate your efforts, great footages... keep archives backups... they are most valuable motions from this trip... & especially I LIKED YOUR TATTO .... #ahinsa I would like to join you in Indian wildlife safaris... keep shooting

My favourite place too - back there in June! The whole day out is the best way we found last year.
Ah awesome 😁 yes, sometimes whole day out is good, but not if light is too harsh, so depends on weather conditions really
Nice skyscapes, you had really great sightings and the tattoo "Ahimsa"! written in "Devnagari" script. I come that country :) felt nice to see that 😃

Ahimsa, meaning non-harming - the most important way in which I believe we should live, not causing harm to any sentient beings 🌱
