7 Days Exploring Alaska By Cruise Ship - Was it Worth it?

- Ever wondered what it's like to explore Alaska on one of the world's coolest cruise ships? From go-karts to icebergs, join me on an incredible 7-day adventure.
I’ve just disembarked a cruise on one of the biggest and most exciting cruise ships in the world, where I spent 7 days exploring Alaska. I saw and did things on this cruise that if I hadn’t seen them with my own eyes, I would not have believed that they were real. From music to shows to food to icebergs and go-karts, our cruise had it all.
This video is just one part of a series. Check out the other videos from this cruise here:

I have wanted to return to Alaska ever since I took my first cruise when I was 11 years old, that cruise was onboard the Norwegian Spirit and I wanted to recreate that cruise as much as possible. This time on the much newer and bigger Norwegian Encore.
I loved the trip so much back then but I didn’t know if it could possibly live up to my expectations as an adult. I wasn’t sure that we would have enough time to explore both the ports and the ship, and as I had travelled over 4700 miles to take this cruise, it definitely felt like a gamble, one that I hoped would pay off!
We boarded the ship in Seattle, and I was very happy to be given an embarkation time of 11.30, I love being onboard a cruise ship for lunch. That for me is always a great way to start a cruise. I have boarded cruises in the past at 8pm or even at midnight so 11:30 in the morning was fantastic.
In total, embarkation took us around half an hour, and because we’d already watched the safety video on our phone, we just had to check into our safety muster station on the ship. After that we were free to explore and to eat.

Ps, you’ll see the ‘paid promotion’ button or ‘ad’ on all content related to this trip, as I was on a press trip when I filmed it (meaning I didn’t pay a cruise fare). I was onboard creating a video for Norwegian's channel which is very exciting. Not sure what 11-year-old me, who took her first Norwegian cruise, would think of that?! I'd probably think... What is UA-cam?? haha. 😀🛳
Pps, thank you for reading all the way down here. Say the word ‘trampoline’ so I know you got to the deep end of the comment. 😂🏊♀
Trampoline :)

Trampoline. Also glad you had a great time I have to wait almost a year but I got a great deal on an NCL Alaska on the Encore next April so really looking forward to it even more now

Hey Emma! It's Lyn! My family and I were so honored to invite you to see our aft cabin. I was still aghast that it was really you that I happen to have run into in the Haven. Meeting you was one of the highlights of our cruise.
Thanks Lyn for your kindness and sharing!
Lyn!!! Hey!! So lovely to meet you and your family!! Thank you! 😁❤️
It’s great to see newer ships sailing the Alaska routes. Brilliant video as usual Emma
Thanks so much Will! Thanks for watching 😀👏🏼
I am new to her videos, and I heard so much about Alaskan cruise.
@@EmmaCruisesYes, what an honor it would be to meet you anywhere in the world!
Massive respect to Emma for taking the time to respond to peoples comments. That is so cool and doesn't go unnoticed. Thank you. From a fan.
Awwwh thanks! Always try my best to. Thanks for watching 😀👏🏼
Well theres not that much to do at sea 😂
Right! For the size of her channel and the number of comments. I am shocked she is down here.
I agree , so many vlogeers , nada … maybe that’s their policy I don’t know .
However we interact , so it helps the channel … so a slight thanks is good for us also . Emma does yr ryt .

We did Encore Alaska last year with in-laws. Ship had 4600 passengers and was crowded, but we still had a fantastic time. My wife got called onstage for Choir of Man. District Brewhouse was our go-to. sister in law had the time of her life, but she unfortunately passed in January at only 53. Will forever cherish the memory. RIP Jeneen.
So glad you enjoyed it, so glad you got to make those memories. Thanks for watching 😀👏🏼
RIP SIL, glad you were able to make those memories!
My condolences. Thank you for sharing.
Great memories for you
‘If I could read people’s text messages from deck 8 I absolutely would’ - I laughed much more than was appropriate! I don’t take cruise holidays but I do love your channel Emma, thank you.
Thanks so much 🥹❤️
Orca Emma is probably just as fascinated with boats. That explains the orcas flipping those yachts.
Ha ha!! Perhaps... Thanks for watching 😀👏🏼
Thanks for defining "peckish" 👍 wasn't quite what I thought it meant 🤔 ... thanks for the correction. 😁
Hey! You can see my arm at 2:21. 🤣 Enjoyed meeting you, Emma! Thanks again for having lunch with me. Cheers!
That's cools!🤣
That’s so funny! I screenshot at 18:48 and sent it to my boyfriend because you can just barely see his head😂
Hahah!!! I love that, thanks for your cameo arm in the video!! So lovely to meet you too!!! 🥳🥳
Your arm is now internet famous!
I spotted the arm lol
I do so enjoy all of your videos Emma. I got old and ill and I cannot get out really. I am always in great spirits after watching one of your pacy and uplifting diaries. Surely this is one of your best. I am delighted that you show me the world. Kevin
Thanks so much Kevin! I love to think that people leave my videos happy, that’s amazing. Thanks for sharing. ❤❤❤
I agree that the observation lounge on an alaskan cruise is the best place to hang out. Sitting there with a beer is a terrific way to relax in the afternoon.
Yep! Can't beat it. Thanks for watching! 🥳👏🏼
I can only imagine. These videos do help with that imagination though.
My wife and are are UK born but have lived in Victoria for the last 13 years, you could definitely spent a *lot* more time here. We just finished our first cruise ever yesterday, a 12 day 'Land cruise', travelling across Alaska and the Yukon and finishing with four days on board, seeing Skagway, Glacier Bay and Ketchikan. I'd totally recommend the experience to anyone nervous about the 'another day, another port' aspect of cruising.
Oh wow that sounds incredible!! Thanks for watching 😀👏🏼
I've been on three cruises, the most recent was about ten years ago. All were South from the US and I was absolutely bored stiff. I have enjoyed your videos despite the fact that I'd pretty much decided that I was allergic to cruises. This was the first time that I was actually a bit interested and I may now book this one. Thanks for the presentation.
Ha ha, love that. Thanks for watching 😀👏🏼
I can't afford a cruise at the moment....Watching Emma's videos is the net best think 👍🏼
So glad you enjoy, thanks lots for watching!! :)
@@EmmaCruises thanks for doing them, iv been on ferries and whatever but a cruise ship would be a massive upgrade.....maybe 1 day
We did the sister ship NCL Bliss the first week of May 2024 to Alaska. We booked inside cabins on deck 13. (Inexpensive vs a veranda cabin) NCL really offers so much at a very reasonable price. The food and staff were first rate. Save your coins, it’s worth it. Seattle is a great place to sail from, easy port to get to.
Emma really knows her stuff, excellent info and videos. 👍🚢
Try Costa cruises if budgets tight, they have a 3 day Mediterranean cruise for £169pp. MSC very cheap too.
@@bexinthebox the coffee shops????
You said it perfect don't matter how pictures you take or how many times you stare it just doesn't look real.
Alaska is just an unreal place, what a beautiful scenery
White Pass Railway was definitely a highlight - scenery was spectacular! Worth every penny!
Sooooo much!! ❤❤❤
Recommend renting a car and driving this route-see more, go farther, spend less! Have done this several times, always see bears along the road. Need a passport, because you venture into the Yukon. Highway is well maintained, since bus tours use it. Beautiful trip, especially early in season with lots of snow on the mountains and waterfalls are flowing with spring melt.
This ship looks so much like the Norwegian ship we went on from NY City to Bermuda last year. All the same venues and shows, it was fun to see again. It was the biggest ship we ever went on, and very busy, and noisy. So noisy, in fact, that my hearing aid batteries ran out two hours before they usually do! Twice, in fact.
We went on a much-delayed Alaska cruise earlier, on Celebrity, and again it was good to see some of the same ports. The White Pass & Yukon train was indeed wonderful, one of the highlights for me, but I was pleasantly surprised by SO much of the scenery. Alaska was a bucket-list trip for my wife, and she started calling it "our first Alaskan trip."
This video combines aspects of the last two cruises my wife and I went on together -- she died in May. I'm SO lucky to have been introduced to cruising by her.
Ha ha, that is an interesting way to measure sound!!! So sorry to hear about your wife but I'm so glad you had the chance to make these memories. Treasure them forever!! Thanks for watching 😀👏🏼
This was a gorgeous video. The visuals were not only phenomenal outside but also inside. Such saturated colors! And, as usual, your editing leaves me amazed. Also, lots of great humor, not the least of which was the “separate stomach for desserts.” Thanks, Emma!
Ha ha, Thanks so much 🥹❤️
I watched every video I could before our trip, thought I knew what I would see, not even close. Nothing captures what you see except being there.
Yess!! Thanks for watching 😀👏🏼
I am sure you will be fine. Most people that take the Alaskan cruises seem to love it.
My wife and I honeymoon'd on this ship and it was our first cruise, we LOVED this cruise and its the main reason we would go back. The spa is amazing, the food was great, and the extras were all worth it. Sharing was a must on the foods and especially if you go get a drink.
Also, Victoria itself looks amazing!!!
Sounds good! 😁🥳 Thank you! 😁❤️
I live about an hour north of Victoria, and it`s a beautiful city; our provincial capitol🍁
A lot of work went in to this, Thank You Emma.
Thank you!! Yep lots of jet lagged script writing and clip organising!! haha. Thanks for watching 😀👏🏼
My husband and I were on the Bliss last week for our honeymoon! I love that you were seeing the same sights as us - with only the slightest differences between sister ships. We ran into the Encore a few times along our way. I've really appreciated your content while waiting for my own cruise for the past year, and I'm already planning a return trip :') we did Endicott Arm this time, but I'd love to go back for Glacier Bay!
Oooo we did see you!! So glad you enjoyed ❤❤
I've been on 3 Alaska cruises, and live in Seattle. That is the weather I've experienced every cruise. Summers are gorgeous, the other 9 months of the year are dreary. Same with the parts of Alaska cruises visit. Glacier Bay is also much different than it was 20 years ago. See it while you can.
Growing up we would visit Stewart and Hyder. To see the difference in the glacier there.
The weather is also getting slightly more unpredictable in an area where unpredictable in a predictable fashion was the norm. It has always been difficult to fully predict which days are cloudy vs rainy/snowy vs windy vs sunny, simply the percentage is generally accurate. I think I finally had my first sunny day in Prince Rupert in all my visits, and I grew up taking the ferry from there to Port Hardy.
I loved your joyful commentary in this video. Thank you for exposing us to your amazing travels!
Thanks so much 🥹❤️
Norwegian is so good. Always lots of music, fun and activities. I cruise just once a year so the informal and fun atmosphere along with all the port choices and fun ships are so great.
❤️❤️❤️
Out of seven Alaska cruises The one on Norwegian encore was my very favorite. That ship is perfect for Alaska.
Oo, glad to hear it!! Thank you! 😁❤️
I’ve done two. Both on Princess. What was different on NCL?
I lived in Oregon, northwest USA, and thought Alaska would be more of the same geography, but it is so unique, so wild. Wonderful.
this might be the first time I've watched one of your vids and immediately thought "I'm fixin' to book this same trip"
Ha ha!! Love that. If you don’t already have a great agent I have recommendations here: emmacruises.com/book-a-cruise/ 😀❤️
She did a great job of explaining it.

@@EmmaCruises no problem and as someone said before there is a strong community here that take their cruising serious. I like that!
I have never gone on a cruise but after discovering this channel I think i'm definitely going to go on one, maybe even this Alaska trip if possible. Cheers for all the cool vids!!!
Awhh Thanks so much 🥹❤️
My trip is booked for September. I can’t wait!
So envious that yours is in the future ha ha, Have a great time! 🥳🥳
I always love your videos. They are honest and genuine. Nothing gets overhyped. I am going to Alaska in 349 days. Not that I am counting 🙂 I will be sailing on the Discovery Princess. It will be my first Princess cruise. Did you try any seafood while in port? I'm waiting to try fresh out of the ocean seafood for the first time in my life. That is a crazy fact since I lived in Florida for about 15 years.
It is because of your videos that I took a 12 night Alaska cruise from Vancouver in mid-September 2022. Saw so much cool stuff
Ooo!!! I’m so glad you enjoyed!! ❤❤❤
Delightful commentary! You do so well, Emma. Beautiful, informative video. Thank you!
Thanks so much 🥹❤️
You're making me WAY too excited for my 2025 September Alaska cruise trip than I should be this far away :D
You can’t be too excited!! 😂😂😂 Thanks for watching 😀👏🏼
Be excited. You should be, no matter how early.
That is far away to wait for a cruise. I read somewhere that it is the best way to get better prices.
I'm going in September of this year!!
Loved watching this! I sailed with Princess in 2019, roundtrip Seattle, and to answer your question: I live in Vancouver, Canada. The Victoria port DID feel a bit funny, as we would get back on the boat to actually go FURTHER from home just to arrive in Seattle and drive back home. Even though it would have been a ferry ride home, we contemplated whether we would have been allowed to disembark in Victoria if we did the itinerary again. Nonetheless, it was fun to "port" in a place so close to home, as I was able to show new cruise friends around some secret spots!
I was just on the same itinerary but on the sister ship the Bliss. NCL is the cruise company we always use. I love your channel Emma, great content. Thanks for sharing.
Ooo, amazing. I've not been on Bliss yet but she's very similar. Thanks for watching 😀👏🏼
Thank you for cruising with us!
I can relate. We usually fly about 7500 miles (and through 14 time zones) when we are cruising. We’ve only cruised Alaska once, but it was beautiful!
❤️❤️❤️
I'm going on this cruise with Celebrity literally tomorrow, so this couldn't be better timed!
Oh my I'm SO ENVIOUS, have the best time ever!!! Have a great time! 🥳🥳
Enjoy! I envy you.
Trampoline... 😉 Thank you to NCL for inviting you and doing this. She's a great ambassador. Thank you Emma. I do miss Alaska, it's such a beautiful location.
Thank you! 😁❤️ !!!

I love the tranquil nature of your video + audio-commentary.
Makes me feel like I'm watching a David Attenborough documentary on Cruises :D
Also, really excited to hear about the book series, any sneak peak about the subject?
Wow ha ha!! Thanks so much 🥹❤️
We sailed this ship and itinerary last October. I recognized a few crew members in the background from our sailing. Glad you had so much sun, we did end up with super cold and sometimes rainy weather. Being from Oregon it was no big deal for us (except the torrential downpour on arrival in Ketchikan). Got my Captain Hudson and can't wait to sail with him in April, who knows what adventures he will find.
Awhhh exciting!! ❤❤
I am watching this while having breakfast. In honour of you, Emma, I had 2 cookies too!
Woohoo I love it!! Thank you! 😁❤️
We will be retiring in 1 year & an Alaskan cruise out of Seattle is at the top of our list. Thanks for this video.
You know I wasn't sure how much I would enjoy the go carts on our cruise, I guess it was hard for me to really imagine a full go kart track on top of a boat. But my kids and I loved it, and they were very fast compared to what I thought they might be. Also I really enjoyed the Beatles show and it was the first time for my young kids to hear their music and actually see their parents dancing and enjoying themselves. Also for me the highlight wise the Haven I gotta admit I would splurge for it again and it made such a difference in the cruise.
So glad you enjoyed it, the Haven was amazing from the hour I spent there ha ha. Thanks for watching 😀👏🏼
@@EmmaCruises we had the same room that you profiled at the aft left corner of the ship. Which fit my wife and I and two kids perfectly. We were not aware that the Haven had rooms outside of the front space. But we really enjoyed watching the world pass by from the back. One morning. I remember waking up and I thought the ship was docking because the boat kept rumbling and making odd noises. I went outside to check and I realized we were going through an ice field which completely blew my mind. And to quote what you said my brain could not comprehend what I was seeing. I would definitely go back and do it again.
I sailed on norwegian bliss a couple months ago for my first cruise and I loved it, best week of my life
So glad you loved it!! Thanks for watching 😀👏🏼
Trampoline? That's a new one!😂
Ha ha, I'm going to think of a new one every week I think, probably getting progressively weirder... 😂😂😂
Looking forward to watching this...we toured Alaska on the Bliss two years ago but I got COVID halfway through which scuppered my trip.
Oh goodness ❤❤
your uploads are a highlight of my week emma x love seeing your journeys!
You are so kind, appreciate it lots!! Thanks for watching 😀👏🏼
This is incredible. I'm taking my first cruise next week...to Alaska. But on a different cruise line.

SO GOOD!! Thanks for watching 😀👏🏼
We took this exact cruise in 2022 on the Encore and loved every second of it - glad you enjoyed it

Yay! Emma posted and I am happy! Great video thank you Emma!
Hey Noah!! Today I wrote the acknowledgements in the first Captain Hudson book and I wrote your name, you can see it soon!! Thanks for watching 😀👏🏼
Wonderful video Emma! We are Heading to Alaska in August cannot wait. Doing land and cruise on Princess on the Royal Princess ship. Best Jeff & Sandy Brooklyn NY
Great video!!
Thanks so much you are very kind! Thanks for watching 😀👏🏼
Thank you for your video Emma. I was on Encore the week after you, and we had the opposite weather of you. It was snowing on us in Glacier Bay, and in the pass in Skagway. We didn't see sunlight until the last day heading back to Seattle. But, the most amazing part, we saw the most amazing show of the Northern Lights! Glad you enjoyed your trip, and looking forward to your next adventure.
Oh my it's amazing how fast it can change right?! Thanks for watching 😀👏🏼
Be ironic if "Orca Emma" is helping take down ships as we speak. Good for her though. You do you Orca Emma. You do you.
Ha ha, she's a good Orca promise!! Thanks for watching 😀👏🏼
One of my most favorite cruise destinations in the world going to Alaska I've taken 18 cruises on several different cruise lines... I have taken a total of 39 ocean cruises and 6 river cruises so far... I hope to do another 30 more cruises in my lifetime I'm finally retired...
Oh wow! Incredible. Thanks for watching 😀👏🏼
@@EmmaCruises It looked like you started cruising when you were a kid... My 1st. cruise was when I was in my mid 40's... I've talked to many couples my age and they have been on twice as many cruises as I have... I'm a little picky on my cruises I like longer cruises over 2 weeks if I can find one... I watched over 20 of your videos they are entertaining and I get allot of ideas from you and a God bless you Emma... All my cruises have been American cruises would love to take 1 or 2 European river cruises, and maybe a Greece cruise... I always thought about taking a North, and South pole cruise also... Take care Emma..
Are you not vegetarian anymore?
I’ve been reintroducing some meat into my diet since summer, I don’t want to talk about why here but rest assured I’ll always be seeking out the veggie menus/options and reporting on those. Thanks for watching 😀👏🏼
@@EmmaCruises I'm sad to hear that, but thank you for replying and I appreciate you continuing to cover the veggie options for others.
Our family just did the Holland America Alaska cruise on the Eurodam at the end of May. I bet we were at the same places at the same time. The only place we didn't go that you did was Skagway. We did Juneau, Glacier Bay, Icy Strait Point (AKA Hoonah), Sitka, Ketchikan, and Victoria. Glacier Bay was definitely my favorite. We saw lots of Humpback whales, but no Orcas.
The wife and I have cruised a fair bit, in fact we are embarking on a 12-day for our 30th anniversary tomorrow. But I always tell people that if you only do one cruise in your entire life you should do an Alaskan cruise. Most other places we have been are easy enough to see through traditional travel, but an Alaskan cruise is unique.
Always enjoy your videos Emma. Thanks for another fun look into an enjoyable cruise.
Totally agreed!! Thanks for watching 😀👏🏼
Great video Emma. We were on this same cruise, which was our first cruise. We heard you were on board. We definitely hit a home run with the weather. Also liked that all the other cruise lines were not yet sailing. I can't imagine how crowded the towns would be with multiple ships in port. We had a GREAT time. Only question now is....where to cruise next.
So glad you enjoyed too! ❤
We did that same trip on her sister ship last fall. A tad crazy, they went up the outside route and weather was “nautical”. 30 foot seas. Didn’t bother us but did some passengers. All part of sailing in the fall! They also had a complete onboard computer failure that affected literally everything from restaurant bookings to closing the casino. Happened the last day and since they couldn’t check guests off and on the ship, the Victoria stop was essentially cancelled.
That said, Norwegian handled it “okay” and we enjoyed the trip. We are status holders on them for a reason (but not yet platinum wow!) and also shareholders. Norwegian does it right!
You missed mentioning one thing… but caught a shot of it… their switch from Pepsi to Coke products has us Coke addicts very happy! (Sorry I know you like Pepsi!)
The American Diner was a branding deal with some big 50s Diner brand that fell apart - I forget who - and it seems they’re at a loss for what to do with the space. On Alaska cruises with worse weather it’s too cold and windy to use. But you’re correct. There’s radiant heat in the ceiling there.
The cookies are in the dessert area of the buffet - for your next NCL trip. (I’m with you, I can live on chocolate chip cookies all day if required. Haha!)
And yes, you more than lucked out on the weather! Look at all that sunshine! We lucked out later - after the rough sea day - in Juno. Even the locals said they got outside that day because it was so beautiful out!
Cheers! Great video.
Nautical weather, I love that phrase! 😂😂
I went to Alaska on a small 8 person fishing boat. It’s one of the times going small meant going better. At night we turned off all the power. We could hear the eagles and whales. We could see deer swimming. And whales breathing. You could see satellites in the sky.
It was magic.
A few years later I took the family on a cruise ship and we missed all of that. The one good thing we did was a day excursion where we saw salmon spawning.
Hey, I did my first cruise just a few weeks ago on Encore’s sister ship, Norwegian Bliss. I also went to Alaska. It was an amazing experience. Wish to do it again soon.
So glad you enjoyed!! ❤
Couldn’t help but think of Jenny Nicholson’s video on the star wars hotel when you said “not a post or pillar in sight” around 9:20 😂😂😂 great vid!
😂😂🤣🤣
Oh yes! I'm so excited to watch. My Mom has always wanted to take an Alaskan cruise. I knew you'd have a review soon. I'm hoping we can book a retirement trip to take her on soon! Thank you for your video!❤❤❤
Oh that sounds amazing! Thanks for watching 😀👏🏼
My first NCL cruise (May 2023) was to Alaska aboard the NCL Spirit. Loved it. I've been on the Jade to the eastern and southern Caribbean since then (April 24). Thanks for reminding me of the fun I had on that ship. Love your videos!!
You're so lucky you get to do this. I love these floating little cities. People must be walkin around happy in general plus theaters you can go in on a whim is awesome to me.
Oh yes. Thanks for watching 😀👏🏼
Alaska was my second cruise. Glacier Bay was fantastic. I have a sequence of stills of a glacier calving from my balcony. This was part of a Cruise-Tour that started in Fairbanks and included Denali.
My family lived in Anchorage in the late 60s/early 70s where we did not have a trampoline, but we did have moose walk through the back yard.
Since it never got dark enough to see the aurora, we drove up in February a couple years later.
Not a fan of the bigger ships, but that seems all anyone makes these days.
I've loved seeing you on NCL. My first EVER cruise was with Norwegian on Escape, so they'll always be such a special cruise line for me!
The public spaces on this ship look absolutely beautiful - a nice mix of what you'd get on the older ships and newer, but somewhere in between. Great video as always, Emma!
Thanks Fraser! ❤❤❤
I just got off the NCL Joy and watching this video makes me want to go back ASAP!! We did the 7 day to Bermuda and it was an amazing trip. Staff was so friendly, food was good, and Bermuda was beautiful 🤩🤩. This was my first cruise as an adult and I spent every night partying at Spice H2O and The Social. I’m surprised how similar the Joy and Encore are set up. Love your content and can’t wait to see more 💕
Oooo so glad you enjoyed it!!! Thanks for watching 😀👏🏼
My Wife and I have been on two Alaska Cruises, and seeing the beauty of Glacier Bay National Park was awesome. Seeing it a second time was still amazing.
You should see it again. We will be there again this Sept, and I know it will be an amazing. Alaska is so very beautiful. We will be there again in Sept 2025. The city of Ketchikan is my favorite.
We did the White Pass rail tour on our first cruise, and it was an awesome experience.
Sound amazing! Have a great time! 🥳🥳
Thank you very much.
Cruising to Alaska from the Vancouver Port is quit easy for us, as we live less than 2 hours away.
We live on Vancouver Island.
We have just started planning our very first cruise. We decided to do Alaska. We're actually using Travel with Brigitte through your link on a previous video because i have to do a closed loop cruise ( long story involving bad decisionmaking when I was young and stupid). So excited!! We have to do the Joy though. I was hoping for Encore but the dates dont line up qith our vacation time. Cant wait!! 😊 Thank you Emma!
Hi, Emma. I'm a faithful follower living in Salt Lake City, UT, who, with my husband, is also going on a cruise to Alaska (my 2nd and my husband's 3rd) on Celebrity Solstice out of Vancouver. However, I grew up in British Columbia, Canada and have been to Victoria numerous times. What you DIDN'T get to experience was touring Butchart Gardens, or having High Tea at the Empress. Victoria has a very British feel, from home gardens---beautiful English Country Gardens---and even a castle: Craigdarroch Castle. It's my favorite city in the Western Hemisphere!
I hope to come back!!! Thanks for watching 😀👏🏼
Im so excited to see this video! I'm headed for my first cruise ever on NCL in September to Alaska. Counting down the days!
So envious that yours is in the future!! ha ha. Have the best time ever!!!! 😀❤️ 😁❤️
I ❤ ALASKA!!! I went a few weeks ago on Grand Princess. I’d go back with NCL!! ☺️
Thanks for watching 😀👏🏼
We cruised in Alaska in 2017 and absolutely loved it. We have been planning a return trip for next summer. It is one of my favourite trips ever.
Ooo!! So glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for watching 😀👏🏼
My husband and I go to Alaska in May of 25 on Holland America and can't wait. We enjoy watching all the videos from all the UA-camrs to learn what to except.
Oooo Have the best time ever!!!! 😀❤️
great Video.... Balconies are an absolute MUST for Alaska. You had incredible weather. Glacier Bay and Tracy Arm Fjord are both wonderful.
We were sooooo lucky!! Thank you! 😁❤️
I was on Norwegian Spirit in Alaska last August and loved it. You'd never guess her age, the refurb has been done very nicely. You can't mistake the characteristic windows in the main dining room though so you should be able to recreate your video nicely. Love the channel, thanks so much
Hey Emma, I’ve watched loads of your videos and just wanted to compliment you for doing such a great job. I like your style and your sense of humor. Going on a cruise is getting higher and higher up my bucket list 😄
Thanks so much for watching and your kind words! I appreciate it 😀❤️
I did a lot of Alaska cruises when I worked on the ships and they rank as my favourite cruises. I was lucky enough to enjoy dog sledding on a glacier (via an amazing helicopter ride), see the northern lights and also the White Pass train ride. I'd love to get back there one day!
Oh my amazing!! Thanks for watching 😀👏🏼
I visited Alaska last October for 7 days at the end of the season on the NCL Bliss, and I had such a wonderful adventure that I booked again for this October for 9 days on the NCL Jewel, with several family and friends. Next May I come to your side of the pond for a 12 day Northern Europe cruise and I just can't wait! I enjoy watching your videos and your adventures. If you ever take a river cruise on the Mississippi river, take a carriage ride in Memphis and say hi. Fair weather for your travels!
I loved the District Brewhouse. I went there every day on my cruise on the Pearl. Incredible music. 🎉🎉
Loved it too!! Thanks for watching 😀👏🏼
My wife and I did an Alaska cruise with Norwegian. Absolutely a breathtaking trip. We did two amazing whale watching trips and glacier bay was beautiful. Have to go again.
Oooo sounds amazing! Thanks for watching 😀👏🏼
Wow Emma, what a fantastic ship, cruise and video. Wish I could go to Alaska again but sadly I can’t. Thanks for sharing
❤️❤️❤️
What a beautiful ship! I went to Alaska with my late sister about 6 years, end of September on Princess. It was the trip of a lifetime and we, too, had great weather, about 72 degrees every day. If I should ever go again I think I would try Norwegian!
Ooo, so glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching 😀👏🏼
Thanks Emma! Excited to cruise Alaska next year!
I'm glad you stopped in Skagway! That's my favourite place we saw on our Holland America cruise. It's so small and was the gateway to the gold rush, so had lots of history 🙌 Very nice locals and we prioritized the local shops and museums.
Thanks for watching 😀👏🏼
I've been on this cruise just with Princess. I did the helicopter with dog sleding and the train ride as well. Both fantastic things to do. It is a great cruise destination. I would love to go again. I still love looking at the photos that I took. I had a balcony room as well, a must for this cruise. I am from Australia
Totally agree about interactive shows, good choice to be at the back. On my cruise last year I arrived late into a comedy show carrying a rather large ice cream- so guess who inadvertedly became part of the show lol??
Nooooo ha ha!!! Thanks for watching 😀👏🏼
this makes me want to go back! we finally got there in spring of 22 (planned since 19, but we all know what happened then) on a Celebrity ship, NCL might be worth a look see! I'd probably be on my own though and I'm so sure how wild I am about a cross country flight!
I worked in a commercial laundry for a few summers while I was a student; looks very familiar. Getting flashbacks to the odd experience of temperatures of almost 40C and humidity close to 100% in Scotland at the back of the ironing and folding machines (the ones where I worked, you clipped the wet sheets into a machine that spread them onto the ironing rollers which fed out to a folding machine at the back, which is where the heat and humidity was worst).
Yeah! Such a hard job. Thanks for watching 😀👏🏼
Emma, it was much like U.K. weather today here on the CA central coast. Foggy, misty and .02 in the physical rain bucket this morning. Love it. I know, I'm crazy but there is something special about these "soft days". It's already bloody hot inland. We're so not ready for summer and hot. We did the AK cruise and enjoyed it, all except one day in a gale force 7 blow off Sitka. I'm one of those who does not get seasick or other motion sick. At least I didn't on this trip. It only made me hungry even though the ship was quite lively. Every time we changed course during the night it woke me a bit but I went back to sleep. It truly was an adventure. If you ever find yourself near Morro Bay, CA Lady Robin and I would love to see you. Cheers and take care then.
Sounds lovely, Thank you! 😁❤️ Thanks for watching 😀👏🏼
My wife and I did this same cruise last fall. It was a really good cruise. We LOVED Choir of Man! We also preferred the buffet, especially the Indian food. So good. Thanks for the content, it's always great!
Thanks so much for watching and your kind words! I appreciate it 😀❤️
Emma, you did a BRILLIANT video of this ship. I'm taking my two nieces on this ship very shortly. You covered all the bases. A BIG thank you! Very informative video.
Thanks so much 🥹❤️ Have the best time ever!!
We did this cruise at the end of the season in 2022, then stayed on for the repositioning cruise to Miami. Lovely to see the ship again, really enjoyed this ship
Sounds amazing!! Thank you! 😁❤️
You make my day Emma whenever I see your new video being up! I’ve done a lot of cruises but never to Alaska. Definitely on our bucket lists!!
Thanks so much for watching and your kind words! I appreciate it 😀❤️
We did this exact cruise over the Fourth of July last year! It was incredible, the views alone were incredible!!
I’ve been waiting for these videos. I’m taking my first cruise on the Bliss in September. I want it to be great so it won’t be my last. I enjoy your content and seem to trust your experiences. I see a lot of balcony, Observation Deck and Cavern Club in my future. Thanks!
Oooo!! So envious. Have a great time! 🥳🥳
Emma I’ve been watching your videos for a year and I just booked my first cruise for Alaska of this year! Thank you! I’m so excited now
That’s amazing you’ll have the best time!! Thanks for watching 😀👏🏼
