FujiFilm X-T50 - Impressions After 1 Month

- A brain dump of all of my initial thoughts using the X-T50 after one month. An unscripted train of thought that covers why I bought the X-T50 over the X-T5 and X100vi and some of the things I've learned while using it.

I set that top function button to start video recording on my X-E4, very handy. Thanks, a helpful insight as someone still trying to decide whether to replace my X-E4.

I map a button to for recipe shortcuts, but i go to C1 where i leave all the settings untouched when I want to play with film simulations on the dial. also assigned a button shortcut for digital teleconverter, i normally have a 50mm prime on but when I'm a wider lens, I get the option of punching in if the composition gets too wide for comfort. works well for me!

It is smaller (narrower) than the x100vi. I have both. With a voigtlander ultron 27 it is mini.
the earlier versions of the series (like the xt10, 20 and 30), they never had an iso dial. i guess the people complaining about the film simulation dial are just those who came from the x-t5 or from other systems. it's literally apples and oranges. the film simulation is more useful than the drive dial it replaced imo and it's better that it's now on a button.
there's nothing redundant because the buttons and the front and back are meant to be customized however the user wants
I would also choose the film dial over the Drive dial any day.
As an owner of the Fuji X-s20, I want something more pocketable with higher resolution. I just got my XF27mm lens yesterday and I already love it so that’ll be my pairing for photos for now.

What about the kit lens 15-45. Did u get it ? Wondering about its use.
I did initially preorder the camera with the 15-45 but after reading about the electronic zoom, I decided to go with the 16-50. From my research, it’s not a terrible lens, it’s very sharp. But an electronic zoom can be harder to precisely control.
Ha - that charcoal is my least favourite. Reminds me of the plasticy Pentax P30T I owned in the 90s!
