Oh yeah, TOOL is one of those bands you just do each album… track by track Amazing reaction. Everything you have said about tool in this reaction is indicative of tools overall sound and approach to their music
When he says "It's getting colder, locked in a place where no-one goes, no-one's coming home tonight", I think a battlefield. In the front lines. The cold is increasing, death is coming closer. There's no quarter, it's kill or die. Brutal.
What you described as the wailing in the background and the sound of the lyrics in the beginning was done using one of those toy megaphone that you can use different sound effects with. Probably one of the best covers any band has ever done. I've heard when Robert Plant and Jimmy Page heard it. It blew them away.
I sometimes think that if Zeppelin had been formed in the 90’s instead of the late 60’s, they might have had a sound very similar to Tool….others say Soundgarden…..
No Quarter like many Zeppelin songs is loosely inspired by Lord of the Rings Plant"s No Quarter is the Vibe of the Riders of Rohan as the prepare to charge into Suaron's armies of the East outside of Gondor Maynard's No Quarter more has the vibe of Sam Gamgee as he carries a near dead Frodo Baggins through Mordor and up the slope of Mt Doom
21:30 "Perhaps some connection was formed". A first time listen to Tool, and you are already talking about connections being formed, you basically identified the essence of Tool here just by listening to their cover of Led Zeppelin lol
I like very much how you interpret lyrics and music, I suffer of depression and then some, these lyrics often explain (for me) the battle inside between you and fex depression.
But to bring balance back to the 1970s universe you have to toggle between Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd "Time" followed straight away by "The Great Gig in the Sky" The brevity of Life vs the anger / anguish and eventual acceptance of Death. It's the Alcohol of Led Zep vs the Narcotics of Pink Floyd No need to choose one over the other they both have moments when only they fit😎
My friend Ray bought Salival and played it, fell in love with this collection. So fucking brilliant. Lost Ray in 2012. Remembering my brother tonight for fucks sake.

You won't be disappointed. Great video! I would suggest doing Pushit from the Aenima album. Then follow it with Pushit from Salival Live. They completely remade their own song. Both versions are great. PS...don't forget this was recorded on the Salival LIVE album. 🤣
Imagine ... pink floyd, led zeppelin and rush had a baby this would be it .. TOOL ... best band ever ... if u want to do it right start from the beginning ... the TOOL Army will come
I want to follow up with others saying you are very good at quickly understanding TOOL and the way they make you feel, first of all. can’t wait for all the other reviews to come on TOOL!! Tool for life!! Haha
Long time fan of TOOL here. Maynard is an amazing artist and he has ingenious musicians behind him. Each one of TOOL's albums has it's own feel or vibe. Maynard also leads other bands aswell (A Perfect Circle and Pusifer) that have their own feel too . I think he didn't want to get stuck in one "sound" if you know what I mean.
20:10 - Phrygian Major scale… Arabic/Eastern origin. You can hear Maynard vocally illustrate the same phrasing here: 5:54. It is great as a counterpoint to music with haunting dissonance.
With this song, I always envision a small group of Norse horsemen trying to break through enemy lines to bring a message that can save a ton of lives should they make it, though they'll receive no quarter if they are caught.
It was fate that you ran into them in the two collided. Now that you have been introduced to tool they will slowly but surely infect you. Welcome to the family
More than just simply playing a cover Tool is showing their highest respect to Zeppelin. Taking the feel, and adding Tools mark creating a tip of the hat so to speak. Both giants, yet respect for the one who came first. It's by far the greatest cover i've heard for Zeppelin, other than A Perfect Circles. "When the Levee Breaks." Also Maynard.

Sitting here listening it occurred to me the similarity between this sound that tool projects and the song called 3 days by Jane's Addiction.
Lol he got Toolbumps….lols
I like very much how you interpret lyrics and music, I suffer of depression and then some, these lyrics often explain (for me) the battle inside between you and fex depression.
Subbed for more Tool please, oh and so will the entire Tool army….lols
But to bring balance back to the 1970s universe you have to toggle between Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd
"Time" followed straight away by "The Great Gig in the Sky"
The brevity of Life vs the anger / anguish and eventual acceptance of Death.
It's the Alcohol of Led Zep vs the Narcotics of Pink Floyd
No need to choose one over the other they both have moments when only they fit😎
love your vids man, loved this reaction to an awesome cover as well. glad I discovered a new reaction channel.
My friend Ray bought Salival and played it, fell in love with this collection. So fucking brilliant. Lost Ray in 2012. Remembering my brother tonight for fucks sake.
This wouldn't exist without the original but it is TOOL'S song now. 🤷♂️ More TOOL 🔧 You will not be disappointed. Greatest band ever! They do not have a bad song.
EDIT: there is now doubt TOOL put their flavor on this. Do more. You will understand.
Love your interpretation and reaction. You MUST do the entire TOOL journey! TOOL Army will come. You won't be disappointed. Great video! I would suggest doing Pushit from the Aenima album. Then follow it with Pushit from Salival Live. They completely remade their own song. Both versions are great.
PS...don't forget this was recorded on the Salival LIVE album. 🤣
Another one has fallen into the rabbit hole.
I see a TOOL reaction … I sub!! Brilliant reaction btw. Welcome to TOOL, buckle up, you’re in for a ride 🛠🌀🥁
Imagine ... pink floyd, led zeppelin and rush had a baby this would be it .. TOOL ... best band ever ... if u want to do it right start from the beginning ... the TOOL Army will come
great description lol
Add black Sabbath to that
Start with The Grudge to get blown away by Tool
Great place to start a journey with Tool. If you like drums on this one try "Pneuma" by Tool.
I'll check it out!
I want to follow up with others saying you are very good at quickly understanding TOOL and the way they make you feel, first of all. can’t wait for all the other reviews to come on TOOL!! Tool for life!! Haha
Peace friend!
✌️🇨🇦🤘
Long time fan of TOOL here. Maynard is an amazing artist and he has ingenious musicians behind him. Each one of TOOL's albums has it's own feel or vibe. Maynard also leads other bands aswell (A Perfect Circle and Pusifer) that have their own feel too . I think he didn't want to get stuck in one "sound" if you know what I mean.
20:10 - Phrygian Major scale… Arabic/Eastern origin. You can hear Maynard vocally illustrate the same phrasing here: 5:54. It is great as a counterpoint to music with haunting dissonance.
Dany Carey is going to blow your mind! Im so excited lol
With this song, I always envision a small group of Norse horsemen trying to break through enemy lines to bring a message that can save a ton of lives should they make it, though they'll receive no quarter if they are caught.
I thought this version gave more of an image of someone speaking to us from the underworld which would explain why his voice comes to us distorted.
Greg that totally works too, screaming up from the depths
It was fate that you ran into them in the two collided. Now that you have been introduced to tool they will slowly but surely infect you. Welcome to the family
That look at the 1st drop.😂😂 Welcome to the Tool Army.
Wait till you... Ah duck it. Just enjoy. Glad you found the door.
