I was at the show in Arizona where Tool played this song live for the very first time. They opened their set with it and even came out on stage dressed as “Fred Zeppelin”. It was awesome.
My dad was a Zeppelin fan back in the day and got to see them live in the early 70s. Unfortunately I’m not old enough to have been able to see Zep live, but I did get to see JPJ play live with Dave Grohl and Josh Homme as Them Crooked Vultures. I’ve seen Tool also, but I’d love to catch them at least one more time while they’re still touring.
Love your reactions!!!! I love that you understand TOOL has no equal! After my first listen more than 20 years ago I stopped listening to the radio. The music didn't do it for me anymore. I had this great idea. A video of you and your friends in your car. You introduce them to new tool songs. I would watch that. Watching you enlighten your friends would make my day! Hey everyone, give a thumbs up if you want to see that!
Tool was from the 1990's , Led Zep formed in 1968 and recorded their first two albums in 1969 . They were completely groundbreaking and influenced everything that came afterwards. The keyboard opening is John Paul Jones , the vocalist is Robert Plant, the genius on guitar is the legendary Jimmy Page (also founder and producer) and the drummer is John Bonham. No quarter means no mercy. If you are going to check them out further they had no fixed genre but performed immaculate blues , the raunchiest of rock, folk rock , funky rock, acoustic masterpeices. I think you will like Dazed and confused from the first album or whole lotta love from the second.
Yea, it’s really amazing. It’s what you get when you combine the talents of the two greatest rock bands of all time. Definitely one of my favorites as well.
Love the Reaction! One of my favorites. The growing and descending swells that Adam makes and Maynard sings are bone chilling. Goose bumps every time! Then Danny comes in with the rhythmic descending tones on the drums! Spiral out! 🌀🌀🌀

I grew up Zeppelin being my favorite band. As I got more into Tool and saw they had covered this I thought this has amazing potential. It by far exceeded my expectations. Greatest rock track ever, any genre.
I have been around for over half a century, and I have never - not once - heard a band that compares to Tool. They were sidelined for almost two decades before they could release more music because of lawsuits. When the latest album dropped, there were a large number of comments expressing sorrow for those tool fans that died before they had a chance to hear what they had been waiting patiently to enjoy. This speaks to their overall dedication. There is a reason why they were so beloved in the 20th century: They are just that good. What their latest album clearly demonstrates is that they are very much as powerful as they have always been. Cheers to you brother for feeling it like it is meant to be felt. For so long they were the favorites for a small group of fans. Today? Well, videos like yours are proof that these guys are for real. Be you, friend.
I always thought the original version of this was too short. Tool fixed it for me. Just like they fix almost everything for me. They never disappoint. Great reaction....same....super same.
Man, I would love to see a video of you post-show if you get to go to one. I've seen Tool twice and it's been absolutely amazing every time. Last show, they ended with Invincible and it was... I can't even think of a word for it.
Music ( the music I really connect with) is very euphoric/psychedelic like a drug. The first time I saw tool live there performance hit me like an acid trip without needing any drugs. And that was on the Ænima tour in the summer of 1998 back before they had the enormous light show that they have now.
@@ddiejr No, they didn't. Same tempo, same key, very similar guitar but with some elongated parts, add ons, and some heavier drumming and guitar parts sound harder. The only substantial change is the last minute 7/8 tempo. That's mostly it. They actually stayed true to the original quite well throughout.
Very true to the original! Traveling through the falling snow, on horseback, to fight a decisive battle. One side or the other will all die, because no quarter will be asked or given. No surrender, and the wounded slain where they fall. If only ten men survive - they are the winners.

What I love about this cover is about 15 years ago they actually played this live at a concert that was on Halloween. I wish there was a video but you can find pictures but they dressed up as Led Zeppelin. Love their humor, they are big LZ fans!
@@Gideonite I think there was a tour where they played it in the Ænima era. But I think that was the only time until the 2015/2016 tour. I had been a fan since Lateralus, but never heard the cover until the show.

You can thank producer David Bottrill for making those vocals and those effects on Maynard's voice. Highly recommend you search out the very underrated, Merkaba from the same album here on UA-cam and react to that as well. Epic shit.
Man, I've been listening to Tool since 1992, I think. Whenever the Opiate album came out. The more their music evolves, the more it stays the same. Hard to put into words how that happens, but through all of their growth, it still feels like home.

Probably my all time favourite recording, combining my two favourite bands (by miles) in one song.
One of the greatest covers ever. Spiral out, Polo! ❤
Music ( the music I really connect with) is very euphoric/psychedelic like a drug. The first time I saw tool live there performance hit me like an acid trip without needing any drugs. And that was on the Ænima tour in the summer of 1998 back before they had the enormous light show that they have now.
Your reaction is warranted. I grew up listening to the original by Led Zepplin. Then I heard this version and still blown away.
I saw them perform this at Red Rocks 1996 Aenima tour, absolutely incredible!
Your reactions to Tool make me smile, every time.
By far, best Tool song... (for the period of life im in right now)
It's not a Tool song... 😊
Yup, you are correct, it’s not originally Tool, but they changed or tweaked everything on the song making it their own…. So yea it’s a Tool song to me
@@BaxterThewall definitely a tool song now. They own it now.
Definitely one of my faves! ❤ it’s spectacular and out of this world!
Very true to the original! Traveling through the falling snow, on horseback, to fight a decisive battle. One side or the other will all die, because no quarter will be asked or given. No surrender, and the wounded slain where they fall. If only ten men survive - they are the winners.
No Quarter T⚙️⚙️L made Polo drop all his Quarters
😆😅😂🤣🤘🏼
After they gave him severe stinkface followed by melted face hahaha it happens to us all every song.
This rate here watching new T👽👽L army this is what it is all about for me.
They've been my favorite band since I first heard them in 1990.
I'm beyond hardcore everyday since 1990 I've listened to them 12 concerts deep gonna see my 13th T♡♡L show this November 20th 2023 in Toronto where I live. 😁🤗
Polo welcome to the best army ever the T🛸🛸L army bae bae.
It gives me great honor to see any new reviewers reacting to my fav band.
Welcome my brother to the army that surpasses all other army!
🤘🏼🫱🏼🫲🏾🤘🏿
What I love about this cover is about 15 years ago they actually played this live at a concert that was on Halloween. I wish there was a video but you can find pictures but they dressed up as Led Zeppelin. Love their humor, they are big LZ fans!
Saw them in 2016 and they opened with No Quarter. Mind blown.
This concert was awesome, the only time they ever played this cover
If I’m not mistaken I’m almost positive because i remember seeing the thumbnail for it, but i believe there’s footage of that concert on UA-cam
@@lzl3185 you can find a list of how many times they have played every song live and I think they have played it live like 30 times
@@Gideonite I think there was a tour where they played it in the Ænima era. But I think that was the only time until the 2015/2016 tour. I had been a fan since Lateralus, but never heard the cover until the show.
Just to think this is live. The room is filled with sound.
Its la ed zeppelin song and the tool cover of it on SALIVAL is amazing!!!
I’ve been listening to Tool for 20 years and this probably my favorite song 🧚🏾♀️
I'm so happy you liked this.
I've seen these guys play live seven times.Tickets(good ones) are generally not cheap, and they sell out fast.I pawned a pretty nice guitar to get Tool concert money back in the mid 90s.I would do it again and again.Bucket list a live show.Tool is an experience, and if you consider the music life changing...brother you are in for a treat.Baptism.Awakening.Wedgie.Punch in the face.Orgasm.
Dude,you gotta see Tool live.
Rarely are cover songs better than the original, and even rarer still are Led Zeppelin covers;
but Tool said challenge accepted.
every tool song sounds the same that's why they have to do covers
@@fredtello 🤨 .... 🤣😂🤣😂
That triangle 🔺️ in your background with the moving sticks fits the song perfectly! 👌
This is creepy beautiful
This is Art!
This band never lets you down, they truly love their fans. I’ve seen them 6 times, unfortunately 10000 days tour and beyond . They never disappoint live… GOAT of my lifetime anyways.
You should be loving it. It's one of Led Zeppelin's best and most iconic songs. Tool doesn't cover. They made an exception for this.
