- I'm having a real laugh with these home cooked monstrosities while the restaurant challenges are on the back-burner. Today I constructed (yes I cooked for a change) a humongous 7lb cheesesteak!
The question is, can one man eat such a creation?
RECIPE:
1500g Steak Strips
2 x Salt & Pepper Crusty Rolls
Green Bell Peppers
Diced Onions
Oh, and lots of cheese.

Q: How come you don’t get fat?
A: I eat like this for 1 hour of a 168 hour long week. In simple terms, I eat at caloric maintenance over the course of time, meaning I don’t gain weight.
Q: Don’t you worry about your health?
A: Not in particular. I’m active. I eat nutrient dense foods five days a week. And, I get quarterly bloods done, amongst other health checks.

I loved this video! That was a proper cheesesteak although a tad light on the cheese. Well done mate! Way to finish strong.
lacking the cheese and not greasy enough lol
the way i saw it made at an original place, (there are several places that claim it) was velveeta, cheese sauce or cheese paste put on after it is bunned up but still searing hot. another place put the cheese on while it was still on the griddle and another put the cheese on the bun then tossed the steak on top. to me there isnt a right or wrong way but i prefer the cheese tossed on after it is put on the bun, you loose less cheese and oil from it that way.
Needs more cheese and fried onions.

Me, a german named Phillip who watched an Episode of BonAppetit about Philly Cheesesteak:
-basically a Philly Cheesesteak expert
Actually a real Philly cheesesteak doesn't have cheese whiz that's just popular for tourism
One of the best, yet least authentic, cheesesteaks I ever had was in the Austrian town of Melk (or was it St. Polten? It's been a long time...). They were having a festival in the town square, and one stand was called, "Eat American Streetfood" - they had a Philly cheesesteak on the menu. My wife and I (being Philly natives) couldn't resist and ordered two. It was early in the day, and they hadn't sold many so the staff asked us how we liked it. We noted it wasn't very authentic, and when they learned we were from Philly they looked terrified like we there to call in the copyright police and drag them away! But it was delicious, and to make them feel better (and assuage our mild homesickness) we ordered another one :)

Also, it's just "cheesesteak" because, as far as I know, it's not competing with other types of cheesesteaks (except maybe chicken cheesesteak-which part of the chicken does the steak come from?) No New York cheesesteak, no Denver cheesesteak, no Chicago cheesesteak, etc. Just CHEESESTEAK!

na not much, loaves were like £2 each, peppers and onions negligible, the meat was the most costly but still only like 16 quid i think

Biggest cheese steak without the cheese 🧀
He adds cheese at 1:25 but then mixes it all together. A real cheese steak you melt it on top and put it on the bread without disturbing the cheese. 🥖

Absolutely!
That looks delicious. A proper Philly-style cheesesteak uses shaved ribeye (put through a deli slicer before cooking) which probably would've helped you with all the chewing. The cheese choice was also good; standards are American, Provolone, or cheese whiz. Nice job powering through!

@@Beardmeatsfood true but the cheese should have been the liquid kind not slices the video was overall still good but when you look at it you see no cheese at all on the thing for the final product (obviously we see you put it on in the video but cant at all see it on the sandwich when done)
