Also, jet alone could (maybe) defeat the angels with AT field tech, but it couldn't actually "save" humanity. By save i mean "turn all humanity into Tang thru "instrumentality" which was the REAL reason for the Evas.
AT Fields are, as far as I understand it, the souls of the people that are trapped in the EVAs, (specifically the mothers of the pilots). Putting aside the moral implications of doing that purposefully instead of by accident in the case of unit 01, I don’t think that is even technology Jet Alone would be able to incorporate.
