I definitely agree, mostly because this scene has actual weight to it. Whereas all the action scenes in the Rebuilds are just there to look cool and have no depth to them, Vs here where this scene is clearly not supposed to be awesome or cool. In actuality this scene is showing the dangers and horrors of Evangelion Unit 01 and that she’s not a Eva to be messed with or take lightly at all. Hell even the very first time Unit 01 goes beserk is better than everything in Rebuild
I don’t know if I prefer the AT field arm from the rebuilds or the Zeruel flesh arm from the OG anime. On one hand the AT arm is a very “anime protagonist” type of ridiculous, but the zeruel flesh arm doesn’t make a whole lot of sense in canon since the angels are children of Adam and the evas are children of Lilith so idk why they’d be compatible.
Maybe there isn't any compatibility problem because of the almost identical genome. It's similar to how the human body is very compatible with organs from pigs despite being a completely different species

But unit 01 got an s2 engine in this scene. So he is as powerful as giant naked rei? Kaworu reached the basement level only to find out that there is no Adam but Lilith. But wasn't the angels whole point to start the third impact by joining Adam and lilith. So why did kaworu hesitate when he found out it's Lilith. Why were the angels seeking Adam, he cannot become a god by himself right?
I love this scene so much because it shows that while Shinji is indecisive whether he wants to stay at NERV and with everyone he’s made a connection with. He still chooses the right thing and gets into Unit 01 even though every other time has been either painful physically or mentally for him, I also love that the Netflix dub has Shinji say “come on move! Move move move!! I don’t want everyone to disappear anymore!!!!” Then Unit 01 goes beserk, that clearly shows Shinji is a caring person who does what he has to for the people he loves. Then 2.0 comes along and turns Shinji into a bland generic anime protagonist who gets upset that his wifu is getting hurt and he gets bullshit powers to kill the bad guy hurting his wifu. Very good writing, I love when a character who previously had a lot of depth and was struggling with a decision is turned into a generic character who gets plot power ups because the writer couldn’t be assed to come up with an actual compelling reason for that power up
I only watched Neon Genesis Evangelion for the first time recently, and I wondered why the music was so similar to Shin Godzilla's. they have the same composer, Shiro Sagisu :D I deeply adore his music, and having absolutely fallen in love with Shin Godzilla's soundtrack, you can imagine how happy I was with Neon Genesis Evangelion's.
This title is even more hilarious in light of that new pachinko game where Eva Unit 01 gets powered up by Big G to fight King Ghidorah and ends up becoming half Godzilla.
I prefer rebuild version one that one is too cool hahaa but this one gives so much OG energy the aesthetic and art style it just suits the anime itself which is gore like
