What encouraged you to process a yard of material in the first place? Maybe a smaller representative sample might have told you the same thing. A cubic yard is a lot of material! Thanks for making this video for us to see.
A cubic yard is how placer gold is assessed in the US. It's more accurate measure than a couple buckets. Furthermore, not all ground is perfectly the same. Just got some nice gold with nugget and pickers from same source this past weekend. So, you be so rigid in your judgment. That's how mining is. You have to take the not-so-great along with the good parts.
@@allansgoldmining, thanks for the response. I'm not trying to be rigid in my judgment, I just want to know the thought process that a prospector, like yourself, would go through to choose one location over another. I'm a relatively new subscriber, so I followed your advice and watched your video on determining the number of buckets per ton. You certainly did a lot of work for our benefit. Nope. Volume, velocity, and angle are perfect. No gold lost. Conducted extensive testing. I prove this with other videos. Please Check out my original Gold Rattler video, which demonstrates the efficiency of the wash plant.

Hi Bill. Thanks for your comments ! I usually do as you suggest. I screen down to 1/8 and 20 mesh. Don't normally show on video to save time. Glad were thinking the same thing !! Best of luck to you in your prospecting adventures ! 🤠⛏⚒👍
Clay steals gold, your hand full of screen deck tailings was full of rocks with clay sludge. Put a trommel between the vibrating deck and the sluice box and you'd have the cleanest rocks around
Not the case. These rocks are metamorphic and appear dirty on the video. Trust me, they are whistle clean. I'm the first to know that. As I mentioned before, watch my latest videos.
Hi David. Glad you enjoyed the video ! Most of the music I find on free sites or from my video editing program. Banjo Rag, Piano Rag, Pop to name a few.
A vibrating screener is better at moving yardage but not as effective at cleaning then a scrubber trommel. If you use a vibrating hopper feeder and a trommel you almost triple the yardage and it comes out clean. Clay and most material
Problem solved. See my Gold Rattler videos on my channel. Thank you for watching. Keep in mind that my goal is to create a portable wash plant for the small miner/prospector. Adding a vibrating feeder and trommel adds to the complexity and is not ergonomically feasible. Vibration frequency is the key, not a trommel.
Hello Shane. Thanks for your question. That is a dewater trommel filterng system that separates solids from liquids. I invite you to go to my channel to learn more. I have several videos from 2016 to 2019 that exhibit trommel before the sluice. Be sure to check out my trommel build series as well. Soon the lower trommel (dewater) will be replaced with a new concept. Hence why I mentioned the 2and speed controller. Thanks for watching and best of luck to you prospecting ! 🤠⚒⛏👍
Chris !! Thanks for watching ! Glad you enjoyed it ! This represents phase 1 of 3 steps that I'm perfecting to build a trailer mounted unit for commercial sales. Best of luck to you out there ! Love your videos ! 🤠
Hey Allan, Love the evolution of the plant! It looked like the trommel with the hopper was getting things comparatively clean, is the table more effective? What would you say is the downside to the shaker... obviously Way easier to make one, and transport... anything the trommel does better? Why arent they more popular? Fantastic progress!
Hi Brad. Thank you for you comments and compliments ! I still favor the trommel, even though it's higher maintenance and limited to feed size. Shaker deck can easily handle larger rocks, which my goal, to wash all rocks. Downside to shaker is rocks don't tumble as well, making it challenging to clean the underside. The shaker does not occupy as much height comparatively. Therefore, designing a trailer mounted wash plant (my end result) it's critical to manage height for ergonomic reasons. Shaker occupies half the height as a trommel. In my next video, the dewatering trommel is replaced by a new revolutionary dewatering shaker deck. It's far more efficient. Stay tuned !
Did you find that the frequency/vibrations of the shaker cause the material to climb up hill? It seems to happen with mine regardless of how step an angle or direction of motor spin.
Good evening Allan, I live in Australia and I have taken a few ideas from your washplant videos and have now built myself a plant on a trailer which I'd love to show you a video of if I can get in touch somehow?

I’ve been looking forward to this one! Thanks Allan! Would have been nice to see a gram or two, but that’s why it’s prospecting, not Finding. Lol Did you get a water tank for your trailer? That would be sweet for the setup you run. Looking forward to the next one!
Hi Chris ! Glad you enjoyed the show. Yeah some days on the gold is better than others. How it goes. Actually, this was mostly topsoil. Haven't got to bedrock yet. I find good gold within the cracks ! You can see the tank trailer in the background during operation. It holds 500 gallons. 250 gallons will last me a weekend.
I don't have plans for this machine. It's a test model for something greater called the Gold Rattler (www.goldrattler.com). If you want to build trommels, I have a 3 part series on my channel, which includes a parts list on videos 2 & 3. Please check out my Gold Rattler series on my channel.
Good question. Mostly along the shallow bank of the Arroyo. The old timers came through and mined the center, which had less clay. There's about 1/2 gm/yd of gold in their tails.
About 60 gallons to start and 40 for replenishment for a total of 100 gallons to process a cubic yard. Stay tuned for my next video. Radical changes and improved conservation !
For a minute I thought this was a Benny Hill video lol jk with ya ,seriously tho very impressive plant you got there ,good luck to ya and stay healthy .
You betcha ! They would ecstatic ! Honestly, my yield is usually around 1 gm/yd. I was testing a new spot. That's how it goes sometimes. Thanks for watching and good luck to you prospecting !
10:46 wonder if iron ore would be financially viable to sell if this process would be scaled up and automated :) Where you get your energy from? DIY Solar PV could be a fun project, Jerry Rig Everything has a video about it, only he mechanically stressed panels unnecessarily.
It would be financially viable if could market it to artesian blacksmiths that make Damascus pattern objects. Then th hey can sell their items as locally sourced or from a certain region. To try to do it on a commercial level to sell to foundries you would need to be able to do tons and tons an hour and send it out in large dump trucks every day
@glennnilson498 the shaker deck has 1/8" and 1/4" stainless steel punch plate. If you watch my Gold Rattler videos, you can see the latest configuration of the shaker deck, which is more efficient.
I don’t think I would care too much for that maverick pan. I did try one at a gold outing but only panned a couple of times and had to give it back to its owner. I could tell in this video you was having a hard time getting it down to a minimum and once you got it down there seemed to be too much to work with in that small square pan. You said you couldn’t bring it down and further because the gold was about to come out. Tell me, does that happen a lot? Because I was thinking I may order me three of these for me and the friends for this season but after seeing this video I’m thinking I may not. Didn’t really want to spend the money on something I wouldn’t use much. We all know we need our money to buy other gold toys! 😂
Thanks for your comments. Actually, I love this pan.... Wouldn't trade it for any other for panning cons. The Gold in the video is very fine, so it mingles within the black sand. I do a rush job for the video, to demonstrate the gold. Yes, I could tap it more to bring all the fines up to the top edge, but really no need to, because I will clean it all with my Blue Bowl or Miller Table. If you watch my latest videos, you'll see the gold piled up nicely at the top. BTW, I've re-panned my cons and found no visible gold. Thanks for watching, and best of luck to you. 🤠⚒️⛏️👍
Hi Mark. Thanks for your question. Not much value other than the gold mixed in it. Mostly iron oxides with a very small percentage of chromium. Thanks for watching !
Good question Jeff. I estimate to be about $900 in closing pump and battery. Thanks for your concerns of the wife. She's doing very well. Let's hope it continues. Was planning on Phoenix, but other things popped up, so couldn't be there. Heard it was good. I made the Pomona show.
"As a general guide, 1 cubic yard of aggregate, sand, or dirt is equivalent to 1.5 tons." (short tons) - course you had rocks in their so more .. 2200 #ton, or 2000 # short , interestingly a metric ton is very close to an english ton, slightly more.

Ah now I see, it's just for water recovery so you can recirculate.
Exactly. Water in the desert is precious, so conservation is paramount. 🤠
Shaker motor and magnet are pretty cool. Got any more info on those.🤔
Hi William. You can Google both of them and are available online at Amazon or eBay. The vibrator is about $60, and Spin It Off $120.
Good job.!!
That was cool
Chris !! Thanks for watching ! Glad you enjoyed it ! This represents phase 1 of 3 steps that I'm perfecting to build a trailer mounted unit for commercial sales. Best of luck to you out there ! Love your videos ! 🤠
I scrolled down to make a reference to his long lost uncle Benny & he's already been spotted , uncanny in't it
Good Video!
Hey Allan,
Love the evolution of the plant!
I'm down in aus though so maybe things work diffrent down under :)
Yes. Placement is critical as well as the direction of the spin.
Welcome Ian !

MILLER TABLES !!
@@kennethkustren9381 yes, I've seen them in action. Work good once the flow and angle adjusted. 👍

@@allansgoldmining No problem
Good evening Allan, I live in Australia and I have taken a few ideas from your washplant videos and have now built myself a plant on a trailer which I'd love to show you a video of if I can get in touch somehow?
Hi Sam ! Would definitely love to see your trailer mounted wash plant. That's not the same one Parker bought when he was out there ?? Lol !! I'm designing a trailer mounted version too. You can send pics to my email: allan.goldmining@gmail.com. Cheers !! 🤠⚒⛏👍
@@allansgoldmining Parker will have to come back to Australia and run a real trailer plant once I have this perfected! No big machines this time, just a gantry and a 14ft hole. He'll be surprised what Victorian wash can deliver :)
@@samschreuder1335 right on !! No doubt your plant will be better than $10k they paid for that junk ! So, do you know Chris from Vo-Gus Prospecting and Sean from Busted Knuckles ? They live in Victoria. One of these days I'll make it over there. Want to spend a month prospecting and astronomy of the southern skies. Cheers mate !!
@@allansgoldmining I haven't met either of them although I have watched a fair few of Chris's videos, perhaps someday I'll make a trip over to Gippsland for some educated knowledge. We get some of the best nights skies in the bush here in Vic!
I sent you an email with a video and some further info on what our plans for the near future with the plant and prospecting
I’ve been looking forward to this one! Thanks Allan! Would have been nice to see a gram or two, but that’s why it’s prospecting, not Finding. Lol
Did you get a water tank for your trailer? That would be sweet for the setup you run.
Looking forward to the next one!
Hi Chris ! Glad you enjoyed the show. Yeah some days on the gold is better than others. How it goes. Actually, this was mostly topsoil. Haven't got to bedrock yet. I find good gold within the cracks ! You can see the tank trailer in the background during operation. It holds 500 gallons. 250 gallons will last me a weekend.
Yahoo gold in your ! Stay safe
Thanks, and best of luck to you prospecting. Stay safe !
Nice. I like that.
Thanks ! Glad you enjoyed the videos ! Best of luck to you in your prospecting adventures!! 🤠⛏⚒👍👍
1:24 oh, ok. My girlfriend was just going to suprise me with prospecting equipment. She's right. That does sound fun.
Smart girlfriend ! Better keep her. 👍 Good luck you in your prospecting adventures !!
Can you please send me a plan for building a gold washing plant
I don't have plans for this machine. It's a test model for something greater called the Gold Rattler (www.goldrattler.com). If you want to build trommels, I have a 3 part series on my channel, which includes a parts list on videos 2 & 3. Please check out my Gold Rattler series on my channel.
So where do you get your material from? The washes or just plain ground? I live in similar terrain
THX
Good question. Mostly along the shallow bank of the Arroyo. The old timers came through and mined the center, which had less clay. There's about 1/2 gm/yd of gold in their tails.
What is the weight of the gold that you found? 1g 0,5g !!!
That sugar packet analogy is pretty accurate! That would be a good day really!
Yep. A sugar pack a day would be awesome. Lol ! Thanks for watching !
How many gallons of water did you use?
About 60 gallons to start and 40 for replenishment for a total of 100 gallons to process a cubic yard. Stay tuned for my next video. Radical changes and improved conservation !
For a minute I thought this was a Benny Hill video lol jk with ya ,seriously tho very impressive plant you got there ,good luck to ya and stay healthy .
Actually that was my college nickname. LOL !! Thanks for watching. Best of luck to you too !
That would be $25 a yard wouldn't it? If so compared to most the guys on TV that's really good ground!
You betcha ! They would ecstatic ! Honestly, my yield is usually around 1 gm/yd. I was testing a new spot. That's how it goes sometimes. Thanks for watching and good luck to you prospecting !
Was that a garret scorpion gold stinger?
It's a Fisher Gold Bug 2. Thanks for watching !
To try to do it on a commercial level to sell to foundries you would need to be able to do tons and tons an hour and send it out in large dump trucks every day
should put hinges on the bucket and you could just flip the tailings straight out!
Thanks for the great suggestion ! Best of luck to you !!
Hi Allen can you please tell me what size of mesh for a size please ,
Regards.
Glenn
The dewatering trommel has 60 mesh. 👍
@@allansgoldmining Hi Allen i mean the size on top of the mini high-banker the sive.
Regards.
Glenn.
@glennnilson498 the shaker deck has 1/8" and 1/4" stainless steel punch plate. If you watch my Gold Rattler videos, you can see the latest configuration of the shaker deck, which is more efficient.
Hi Allan, do you still use your same email address, have some couple of questions, thank you for this great , once again...👍
@@allansgoldmining ah, I see. I don’t have a blue bowl or Miller table. Maybe I’ll go ahead and buy them then. Thanks for the quick reply.
@Day Trader you betcha. If you're panning general ground material, I suggest a Garrett Super Sluice pan. It's great for prospecting regular ground.
Does the black sand have any value?
Hi Mark. Thanks for your question. Not much value other than the gold mixed in it. Mostly iron oxides with a very small percentage of chromium. Thanks for watching !
you need a dream mat!
Nope ! They are a nightmare. Won't recover the fine gold. Same with Hog ! Been there, done that. They are crap !

what is a guess as to what your whole system cost to build? Hope your wife is doing well, we didnt see you in phoenix .
Good question Jeff. I estimate to be about $900 in closing pump and battery. Thanks for your concerns of the wife. She's doing very well. Let's hope it continues. Was planning on Phoenix, but other things popped up, so couldn't be there. Heard it was good. I made the Pomona show.
cubic yard turns out to be about a ton ?
"As a general guide, 1 cubic yard of aggregate, sand, or dirt is equivalent to 1.5 tons." (short tons) - course you had rocks in their so more .. 2200 #ton, or 2000 # short , interestingly a metric ton is very close to an english ton, slightly more.
Yep, that's about right. 👍
May not be a pack of sugar , but it is still sweet ! ! !
Yep, will take it ! Lol !! 🤠⚒⛏👍👍👍

Love the bad 90s porn music
Wouldn't know. Don't watch porn.
plant looks good, but your rectangle pan looks like a pain, doesn't look as effective as a round pan.....
It called a Maverick Pan. It's the best pan for concentrates. Excellent clean out. I was just demonstrating a quick assessment. Stripping of black is much easier than a standard pan with assorted riffles.
