Thank you sir for this video, it was the only one I could find that actually covered what the problem was and showed the steps of the install.

I changed this out because in Ontario my pool is currently 50°F. My heater which is the same as the heater here is reading 11°F higher than the water temp. So if I want a 82°F pool I’d have to set the heater to 93°F to do so. I changed the thermistor and clearly that was not the problem. I checked the valve spring : filled a bowl with hot water and threw it in and it worked so I am now at a loss as to what this can be.

Hi Steve, thanks for this video. I followed the instructions but the temperature sensor pops out of the inlet fitting now due to the water pressure? Is the fitting just loose/worn or did I do something wrong? Water leaks out of the fitting now.

Sounds loose or worn. May need to tighten it or if it’s pretty old, replace the holder.
      Here’s the part on Amazon.

Thanks for the video. I’ve been all over my heater troubleshooting. Mine lights for a few seconds and cuts off with no code. It just keeps sparking and does the same thing. I was thinking a flame sensor but can’t seem to find one. Would this repair possibly fix my problem. Thanks in advance

The flame sensor is part of the igniter assembly, you should be able to see the thin blue wire that goes down to the lower right corner. It’s attached to the igniter. I would suggest taking it apart. One 5/16 screw holds it in place. Then slide it toward you and down. The aluminum gas tube is flexible enough for you to gently remove the igniter. If it’s rusted , clean it and all the metal it touches. Then reinstall and see if that solves it. If it continues to short cycle, then check the gas flow. If it’s too low it will also shut off the burner.

Hi, can you help me? I have a raypack 406A that doesn't turn on, doesn't show a screen, doesn't show any signs of life. Could you help me figure out what the problem could be? I appreciate your help in advance.

If I had, No display or signs of life I would check a few things.
1 make sure main pump is on, sometimes they are powered by the same relay as the main pump so make sure pump is running.
2 make sure the power switch for the heater is on. On the heater the switch should be in the front center under the display or on older models it’s on the right side of the heater.
If that doesn’t work, get a volt meter and check for 24v at the roll out sensor. That’s the ceramic sensor just above the gas pipe. It is in the lower right side of the heater. This is the easiest to access so I start there.
If no voltage, then go to the module
If no power there, then look at the transformer.
There is a troubleshooting guide in the raypak heater installation manual. It is a flowchart and will tell you each step of the process to determine which part is bad. It’s available free online, at raypak or another pool site.
Don’t pay for one, it’s online free, I use them often. Hopefully you can get it fixed. Have a great summer.

What if that didn’t fix the issue? Water goes to 97° and turns off the heat

That is an indication that the thermostat is bad. It’s in the manifold I am working on a video to explain the repair be out soon

I have an alert that states “differential pressure switch failed when heating.”
      Check blower and differential switch.
I’ve gotten the alert a few times over the past few months, but nothing seems to be wrong.
Could this alert be caused by something like air moving through the pipes or the skimmer getting closed?
Because this is an intermittent alert. I would think this would happen daily if it were something chronic?
This is a relatively new heater, so I’m really think it’s somewhat of a fluke. But it still happens on occasion, so I’m not sure.
