    Great video, thanks Steve! You say that if the jets push DE out, you got a filter problem. I have a DE 60 filter just like this one, and the builder said the skimmer return valve needs to be closed before DE is added, else the powder WILL squirt out the skimmer return jets. So I'm unclear on which it is.

    • @Pool-guy
      @Pool-guy 4 дні тому

      If you have a pool cleaner that shares the plumbing from the pump before it goes into the filter, then yes he is right. But otherwise I don’t see how that is necessary. If there is a problem with the DE filter, then the water will become cloudy and you can usually see the DE powder coming back through the pool jets right after you backwash.

      Best I could get was that they are aphids, from the tree just overhanging the pool. There was also a sticky substance on the deck under the tree. We bumped up the chlorine level and they were gone. I think mostly because the tree cleared up and stopped producing the sticky substance.

    • @Pool-guy

      It’s not much different overall. There are three pipes to connect. One from the pump to the filter. One from the filter to the heater or to the return if no heater. And the third pipe goes to the backwash or waste pipe. So only one additional pipe to take care of.

      Hi Justin The remote in the video is a Jandy RS controller. Just about any of the controllers will work with the heater. If you don’t have automation to automatically turn the pool/spa valves then it’s not necessary to connect the remote wires. You can simply turn the heater on and off with its own control panel. Steve, I changed the batteries in my R0687300 remote. Now when I power it up, it cycles between waiting and connecting, but never connects. I tried to follow the instructions on my remote to change the channel at the transceiver but it will not move past the learn mode screen on the remote, so it seems they aren’t communicating. Any suggestions? I have hit the reset button on the transceiver, but I still can’t get them to connect with each other.

      Make sure the learn mode is selected on the antenna. You will have to open it up and flip the switch. The. Try it again. If it still doesn’t work, you may have to replace it. Keep in mind that the new remotes don’t pair with old antennas. So if you get a new remote. Get the antenna too.
