Going to be a lot of Rotary content for a while :)

Like and comment for the algo. Love your videos so much man, especially the rx8 stuff which is how I found you. I love watching you drive when you're on the track as well, you're such a good driver man and I learn alot watching you. If you could do a video where you dialogue while you're on the track about what you're doing and why and what you're thinking, I feel like that would be such a dope video. Much love guys.
I appreciate that!
Don't you have to rebalance the turbo once you unbolt the compressor wheel?! Because even the reverse threaded locking nut it self is part of the overall balance. That's why it's marked. If the locking nut ever turned slightly it would effect the balance of the turbine shaft and wheel. I'm pretty sure it will need rebalancing even if you used the same compressor wheel. Only way it wouldn't would be if the locking nut is reinstalled exactly precisely the same way it was originally on.
Hey Quinn, two parter question around engine response. 1)How would you compare the response of the RX-7 to the ITB NB Miata? 2) If you had a dream budget how would you go about creating an engine with the very best response for a 13B turbo setup?
Street port and a smaller single turbo. Bridge port is going to over-do it. That’s about as simple as can be. G30-660 will give you what you want, but you’ll be limited to about 375hp, and while some might think it’s a little undersized, you’ll spool very low in the rpm range
They are two wildly different cars but have similar handling characteristics at the core. I think with most turbo cars you just give up the idea that you are going to have a super crisp, throttle responsive setup and you drive the car a little differently in lieu of that. Throttle response really doesn't equate to anything tangible other than a fun and exciting driving experience. If all things were equal, the car that makes more power is going to win on track assuming it's big enough to utilize that power. I guess where I am going with this is that I personally wouldn't spend the money on running say an ITB setup on a turbo 13b to try to improve throttle response because I don't think it's really a limiting factor. The stock 13b intake manifold is technically already ITBs with 3 throttle plates. On an intercooled turbo setup you still have a long intake track that will always slow throttle response.
@@TheSlipAngle Thank you for the excellent reply, gold.
What wheels the Mazda Rx8 have???
Always enjoy the videos guys, keep em coming! Also, Quinn, why haven't you reviewed your brother's M4? That'd be a nice addition to the street reviews, I'm my opinion.
He has to pony up and bring it to a Lime Rock day :)
@@TheSlipAngle amen 🙏
I may have missed it, but what are your plans fuel-wise to go 20+ psi, water-meth, or race fuel or e85 or what? Looking forward to seewhere you're going with this
93 Pump baby
@@TheSlipAngle 20+psi on pump on a turbo rotary. Make sure to have the cameras running (and a rich tune and a good knock sensor). You're much braver man than I.
Great to see the content getting toasty. Can't wait to see yours and Mathcew's rx7 runing together! Keep the fire coming!
Thanks! Will do!
