- In this video I give a full in depth tour of the 1998 Chevrolet Silverado 3500. I take viewers on a close look through the interior and exterior of this truck while showing details, over viewing of features, and noting unique styling cues to the vehicle itself. I also show the engine and the details of it, start it up and see how it sounds under acceleration. A thorough tour/review of this truck designed to give others a greater overall appreciation of the vehicle.

Chevy fan or not, you gotta admit that this truck looks amazing
vortechev looks like a shoebox
I rather a 1500 personally
Even if it’s 20+ years old, it’s an amazing looking truck.
@@leoweber3629 your mom looks like a shoebox
Manny Garcia you live in a shoebox
Back when a truck was a truck. Love all the manual stuff on here. Neat radio. The manual transfer case is set up pretty cool also.
back when a truck was for the working man
MMID303 only way to make it better is a manual transmission
Justin Noker your opinion

@@bossmansal67 Don't mind him, he's just butthurt because daddy never taught him how to drive a standard!
nicest 98 dually i ever seen
Sean Hahn To me, this late 90’s generation of Silverado/Sierra and the newer model Sierra looks better than the newer model Silverado. If I was to get any GM Truck, I’d either get a Silverado or a Sierra of this generation or a newer 2010’s model Sierra. Either that, or I would get a Ford F-Series/Super Duty Truck, or the Nissan Titan XD.
Holy crap this truck looks brand new. It's almost like someone bought it drove it a few times every two years and parked it inside. That is the nicest looking 1998 truck I've ever seen. This must of been owned by someone who treated it like a show truck.
Quinn Dickinson nobody has a dually that nice. Obviously it’s been redone and painted underneath new exhaust etc
Rhys Ozipko that’s the original exhaust. I got a 2000 obs with original exhaust.
Trey House I prefer the old 86 quad cab Duly that Kyle filmed Big black one with faded paint red interior really hot sounding exhaust
But regardless yes this one definitely has been taken care of
Quinn Dickinson x
Buys truck. Places it in climate controlled storage unit for 18 years. Pulls it out. Drives it across town. Sells it.
Some people...
Zachary Crocker it probably was some older couples camper trailer Tower they probably just went camping in it but still took really good care of it
+Zachary Crocker this truck gets terrible gas mileage
what are you some kind of a fucking genius Ean?
Ean GS Yerbic nobody cares about gas mileage in that thing
Man i missed this truck. My dad used to own one of these things and man, this truck is the definition of a truck. It's everything a truck is supposed to be. The design, condition and reliability. Sadly, my dad had to sell this exact car back when i was in 3rd grade. I don't know why he sold it. It's one hell of a truck.
Juan Jimenez my dad had a 2002 Dodge 3500, same color as this one. It had the 5.9L Cummins turbo diesel. Man i miss that truck. I'll never forget him getting on the highway and hearing that monster turbo spooling up. It sounded like a big rig
Probably because of gas mileage.
@Island Mike hey if I buy a white good condition 98 like this but supercab not crew cab and gas and new brakes and rotors and pads and battery and tires and not tow anything can I make 19 mpg or 18 with this or not I really want one looks good to me
@@AlejandroP1980s even empty dude you're gonna be looking at BEST probably 12 mpg on the highway. Expect 9 in the city. I still want to buy one just because they are so sweet I almost don't care that much about mpg
Those 454's are powerhouses, my dad had the TBI version in his 92 K3500 and it was a fantastic puller
Grayson Reichert I am trying to put a 454 in a 98 model Chevrolet Dually truck could you give me some advice on wine it up
Grayson Reichert gas hogs too
random car sounds yeah 8mpg in these 454s lol
But dang they eat gas
living in a desert these trucks are worth what you pay for gas and where I am where gas prices are beyond fair It’s still worth it
454 gets as good or better than a 350. Best trucks ever produced, like a rock.
YEEEEESSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!
Man this brings me back! When I was little, this was my dream car! Whenever I saw it at a dealership, I'd always point it out to whoever was in the car with me. Great truck and great vid.
Me too. I remember my dad buying a brand new dodge ram in 98 which was nice, but I really wanted him to buy a C/K haha
Love the sound of Chevy in the morning 😍😀
The most beautiful Silverado I’ve ever seen! And it’s my favourite style too, dually with 4 full doors and a long bed AND 4X4 in my FAVOURITE COLOUR TOO!! 😍😍😍😍😍😍
That truck never saw a day of work in its life. But it's an awesome truck!
Alex D That’s why it still looks beautiful it hasn’t been treated like a work truck it’s been treated as if it was a child cared for and loved on a regular basis
Man I remember watching this video years ago when I stumbled upon it around the time it was posted, before I could even drive, and thinking about how bad I wanted a truck just like this one. Two trucks and one crappy station wagon later and now I have one optioned out almost exactly like the one in this video, save for it being in a different color and in much worse shape. I'm thankful for the improvements the 96 and up trucks got, 290 HP and 410 ft. lbs. Isn't bad for a stock truck that's almost 25 years old now. Even manages to get almost 12.5 MPG on the highway without a trailer. Love these trucks.
I can't wrap my mind around how excellent the condition of this truck is... my lord. Great vids kyle....love them .
I've owned in 1993 Chevrolet k 3500 extended cab for about 20 years it's been a great heavy duty truck still pulling the weight
Oh wow, someone really loved that truck. I've driven a Suburban with the 454 and man what a sound!
Oh GM you need to bring that body style back. So beautiful and perfect
That is one of the best Chevys I have ever seen! I am a heavy duty truck guru, thanks for the video.
So clean you can tell its from the south no rust corrosion. Wow
Send it to a museum! Wow that thing is beautiful
This truck is immaculate! !!
MAN! what a rare beautiful find!
That truck is very clean, it looks as good as the day it rolled out the factory.
This review is extremely relevant in this day and age.
That looks like an undercarriage of a truck with 10 miles. Wow.
This thing is better than mint
Numan Gun roadkill fan?
jacsgaming 123 it's peppermint
roadkillllllll
Sweet! 454! Gotta love it! Great video as always Kyle! My dad had an 8.1 Sierra back in the day.
somebody took care of this truck its in awesome shape.good job kyle like usual!
I know most of the new trucks now would smoke this thing in the quarter mile but something about driving the 454. Me want!!!!
I got one for sale
details dude :)
Its just been sitting outside it hasnt been used for the longest My dads trying to sale it but its in a good condition it just needs fixing on some major things like the side mirros an its just the outside the inside in a good condition
actually I have one and lemme tell you it smoked a gmc 1500 on half throttle not joking all though mines an extended cab either way it's fast as hell because of that 454...
+valoguy I own one, its a manual and its no turd.
The pinnacle of american truck design. This + 7.3 powerstroke = perfection.
You could get 6.5 Turbo Diesel in that generation.
headcas620 ford had a 7.3
i love old dually's like that! great video kyle
That is in amazing condition. The care that this truck has received is how EVERY vehicle should be taken care of.
This truck looks like he traveled back in time to 1998 and bought this truck and traveled back to the present day with it. It’s in THAT good of condition
i have never seen a 90's Silverado or Sierra in mint condition
ethanallen1973 this is beyond mint, it's from a time machine, or stolen from a Museum
Saabkyle04, I'v seen many of your videos over some years now. Till date, this is my favorite one. By far.
Beauty in red!
Freakin' AWESOME pickup. Love it. Great review!!
I’d love to find one like that today in that condition. I’d buy it
I miss those dealership startup vids.
This truck is a beauty!! Great shape.
Whoever previously owned this thing must've loved it because it's in like mint condition and it's awesome.
this thing is mint
Man that beautiful
This is a great quality video for being 11 years ago
It looks brand new. AMAZING!
Love how the speedometer twitches when the RPMs go up xD.
Factory fresh Like a new truck
That's a beautiful truck!
Absolutely a beautiful truck!
I can hear the truck screamin' out loud FUCK FUEL ECONOMY!
It has 4x4?! Cool !!
I love classic dually trucks
Wow amazing condition!! Like brand new!
Those are not alloys. They are steel. :)
Must have been a bosses truck. That thing has never seen real work
Reilly Moody I've seen people that buy duallies just for hauling campers on road trips and don't use it for anything else, that could have been the use for this
This truck is immaculate
Wow that truck is in really nice shape
man was this truck ever driven?
I would rather have this 1998 chevy rather than a brand new $70,000 truck
That is a beautiful truck.my dream truck
Anthony Mark no🤮
Nice truck it sounds good and in great condition
It probably sucks down gas like no tomorrow, but who doesn't love a Big-Block V8? Am I right? Pull down an apartment block with those engines.
I honestly had a dream of doing exactly that lol
Justin Noker Hook that sucker up to the balcony of that neighbor you can't stand and let it rip.
MassEffectFTW unless I move to Japan, this truck would never be allowed on those islands lol
My uncles truck has a 496 we call it the stump puller
I'm curious as to how much it sold for?
Tim Michaels probably 25,000 duallys can hold their value
Jagga Muffin
That's what I was thinking. Around that price range.
Yeah no way 25k for anything from 1998 that's a truck...but i can see 10k
Extreme Diecast 789 I could see 25 k if it had the optional 6.5 Detroit diesel.
I think $9500 to $12,500
I didn't notice the mileage?
That is super clean for a work truck! Runs good too!
keep up the good work man dreamers dream haters hate
Damn.. only 76k miles on this beast.
Donald V8 It hasn’t even been broken in yet
@@dkv674 engines break in around 3000 miles what are you on about
that dually does not have airbags. they where an option in 1998 and where not standard until 1999
Yeah, but they were only required on the 1500 models, 2500 and 3500 didn't have to have them. They still got the big ugly box on the passenger side of the dash though.
I have seen a lot of them with airbags in the 2500 3500 here in Arizona
I'm guessing they were optional on the heavier trucks at first, they were just always mandatory on the 1500 from what I've seen.
yes that is correct. the option was about an additional $5,000-$10,000
Awesome truck, gotta love the big block!
beautiful truck. immaculate
Beautiful truck! All she needs is a diesel under the hood!
xxThrillKillzxX 454 pulls alot than you think
Not really. 454 is fine.
A 6.5 sucks compared to the 454
Or a new 6 liter vortec. It'd be more efficient power and economy wise
Don't wind or rev an engine up until oil temp is close to operating range ( unless it's very hot outside). Don't ask how I know. Lol
rrmchispas because it can hurt the engine
I love this truck!!
Super nice truck!
I can just imagine how horrendous the gas mileage is
blackandgold51 I can imagine normal person who can't afford that much gas gives a "s***". You gotta have gas to work, my friend.
Hardly an important point since a 3500 HD truck is built for work.
+Alex Taylor I have one. A Blue 1996 with the same motor, and you get between 8-12 MPG. They are nice trucks, but they are not good with Gas.
+Alex Taylor Thats because these trucks were built for work, not fuel economy.
I have a 96 powerfull truck not that bad on gas like ppl exaggerate and I tow with it
Bruh u sure u didnt restore this thing because thing thing looks to new for it to be made from 1998 im sure ther had to be some rust spots
thelazy manlives maybe not rust spots, but the lights had to be faded and so did the paint.
THE SQUAD 2 oh ok
I'm in love with it 😍
I just love these older cars.
7.4L Petrol V8 = 290HP ...'Merica!!!
410 lbft torque
In the 80's and 90's, now the 4.3 liter engines make the same power and will last over 300,000 miles easily. The same cannot be said for its European counterparts which make the same power out of a smaller engine at the cost of reliability and torque.
+Jack Begley technically not. A modern euro or ford v8 may have less displacement with similar power but the valvetrain makes the engine alot bigger and heavier than an ls or dodge engine. I'll take a good old pushrod design anyday
IMMORTEN VALKYRIEN it's about torque in that truck , nobody cares about horsepower
MMR even in the 80s japan wasn’t any better. My 2.4 liter 81 celica makes 100 hp and 100 torque
Big block only making 290hp, must be choking on emissions b.s.
it makes a lot more power with headers and 502 cam
durability. this thing should last a quarter million miles easily if properly maintained.
this truck is the epitome of what this country should be proud of, this screams America just like a classic Camero would; especially in this color
JaMiMo Shoot! I have a 95 K1500 Manual Transmission and a 350 sbc. It lasted a quarter million miles and then I put another ring gear on it. She's still kicking strong at 340,000 miles. Runs like a Bute. Her paint may not be the best but she gets 17-20 mpg highway so I can't complain. Lol
Farmin' with Chevy Trucks made to be a low rpm torquey puller, not a high horsepower performance engine
i´m from Brazil and I love your channel :)
Jeez nice all around, underneath is highly clean aswell.🤯
THE TRUCK HAS NO AIRBAGS KYLE!!!!!
***Classified*** Thats because 3/4 ton and 1 ton trucks at the time weren't required to have airbags because they weren't classified as passenger vehicles, therefore they were exempt. But dodge still put airbages in their 3/4 ton and 1 ton Rams for some reason even thought they weren't required too.
SUV Man I am well aware of the standard. Kyle kept calling it an airbag though. Really drove me crazy. Dodge put the airbags in their trucks because it is really stupid not to. Same steering column, and making 2 separate ones is just plain ignorant.
***Classified*** Oh, sorry. Yeah it drove me crazy too!
SUV Man LOL sometimes I miss the old Kyle.
That truck had a Driver side air Bag. In 1995 Chevy started putting them in the Driver side, when they upgraded the interioir and Steering wheel. the Passenger side only got them in the half tons. The 3/4 and 1 tons didn't get passenger airbags. Not until they changed in the 2000's
I prefer my Dually Diesel. This is Gas which sucks.
no this doesn't suck it's s 454
MexicanodeCorazon15 454 is the bomb.
MexicanodeCorazon15
Nope, the 454 is way better. More power and torque.
MexicanodeCorazon15 w
Red I would put a 5.9 cummins
love these dually trucks best years as well
Awesome truck! and low miles! nice!
Love this generation of trucks
this thing is perfect!!
That's a sweet rig.
one word.... BADASS!!
WOW That thing is mint!
These are the kind of videos I like most Kyle, I could care less about $100,000 Lambos and stuff, I can see those everywhere from the big guys, none of the big guys give a damn about older vehicles like this!
I own 2 - 2000 Chevy 1500 been hauling almost 7 years and still going strong and the 96 C3500 too 👍
Very nice truck. I want it !!
Over all very nice truck
You gotta love these older Saabkyle04 videos.
I so want this truck now.
wow, im a big fan of the 88/98 trucks, thats a sweet lookin truck.
What a beauty!
nice job kyle!!
looks brand new. impressive.
454, that's what's up! Great review as always man, you've by far earned my subscription, only wish there could be even more reviews! Keep up the great work.
Gorgeous truck. I have a 78, stick shift 454 and I get comments all the time
