Do you want me to do more tutorials on how to shoot in VR180?
Jeven Dovey
Hell! Ya! Plszzz
Absolutely !!! There are some of us who ARE interested, despite what self-claimed ‘experts’ might think!
Jeven Dovey yes put it under a drone 😎👍might be more interesting in 360
Vote here for more on shooting vr; highly interested in what aspects control scale. Some VR looks to large others looked a but squished. Man this is a great start to a much needed series. Thanks.
This is next level for UA-cam and the future of video content. I don’t see how so many people fail to see the potential here
it’s a cool gimmick but cmon i don’t want to “work” while watching videos
additionally shooting it is a pain in the a**
I fail to see the potential completely
Most people don't have a VR headset (or at least not a decent one), so they don't know what they're missing out on
@@manuelight
Your comment may make many mad, but nonetheless everything you've said is true. Pain to produce and the audience is niche and very ungrateful. Just check out the reviews for Ecosphere. It's a free VR experience where you travel the world learning about different cultures and animals shot on the best 180vr camera on the market. Despite all of this and the free price tag, people are leaving negative reviews about compression and "horrible quality."
Without money and people willing to pay for this content, the medium will die.
Awesome! This one was great, I'm extremely excited for the Thailand version after watching this one.
Wow, this is great! I can't wait for the series!
Absolutely we need immersion to the deepest of meaningful contents. 💕
Wow, this is incredible technology, Jeven! I’ll have to shop around for a pair of googles two be able to immerse ones self in your upcoming videos. Thanks for this excellent overview and walk-through of shooting in VR-180, incredible!
That was COOL! You do a great job teaching videography.
Thanks a lot for this video!! I watched it in VR and really it's one of the rare times that I actually experience good content for the medium and I have been working in the field and been a few times to Sundance New Frontier so I know what I'm talking about :)
This one is unique & different content as compared to others ❤❤ i really like your content
Great video man! Thanks!
Amazing!! Thanks for this video!
Well done, Jeven!
I’d love to see more like this.
Thank You! I have 3 more films coming out in VR180 before the end of the year.
@@JevenDovey I'm so excited about that. After I watched your video, it inspired me to go and make my own. I'm editing it now!
This is so freaking cool! Keep doing what you are doing! You inspired me to start my own channel! Thanks Jeven!
Thank You! Excited you decided to make the leap and jump into the world of UA-cam!
@@JevenDovey Yeah it's pretty interesting. Never though i'd ever be interested but here I am haha
Wow this is so cool. Awesome video.
VERY VERY COOL ✌️👀✌️ and great music, too.
When I saw the thumbnail I thought number 5 is alive 🤖😅👍great work Bro wish you a merry Christmas 🎄🎁 and all the best 4 You
This was a great video! I have just found out about VR 180 3d video, when I was using my Quest 2. It's a lot better than 2D 360 video's. You explain everything well and in a pleasant manner. Hopefully the 180 3D format will get a revival with the sales of the Quest 2.
I definitely think it might take some time for people to embrace VR 180/360. Great intro to “how-to”.
Thanks Tony! I think VR is still in its infancy. Maybe in the next few years we'll see it starting to get more attention
Nice video as always jeven . Now some of my friends had other video ideas when I showed them this 😂😂😂 ..
Love the composition at 8:27 with the tree!
Gloomy but beautiful views ❣️
Yeah it was a gloomy day but it made it so that I could film without needing shade.
Hey man, thanks for sharing this. I listened to the first 7.5 minutes waiting to see what vr180 even is and was giving up. However as my finger swiped the screen I saw it pan around. Wow! Never new that other than on Google Earth. Then I moved my phone and it does the same panning! Watched you to the end and now I'll be checking out your other content like this! ✌
Thank You!!! It's really cool to explore the different areas on screen with VR content. The next 3 films are much more about the experience so I take you to some unique places. All the videos will be live soon.
Thanks Jevon. I know you hear it a lot but thanks for the ideas and inspiration to just get going. I am building my channel and have taken your advice. Stay with one theme. Stop buying gear... yeah not so good at that one lol. But have listened and am doing it. I am now switching to a lap top to edit from my iPad. That is frustrating just getting that all down. And not getting too disappointed with the results. I have the idea in my head but it never really looks or feels right on film. But. I am moving forward and liking the process and hey. I have my own realty show and have a small fan base that likes what Im doing ( thanks mom). Thanks again and looking forward to the next one
Very cool! The future of UA-cam! 🙌
Yeah I think VR will become more popular in the future. It's really cool to watch these films with a headset and you really feel like you're there.
Happy Christmas to you and your family Jeven hope yo uhave a #ticketyboo time over the festive period see you in 2020
Nature sounds so relaxing. Little community lost 😢. How can we be the camera I completely lost that part LoL! This is one Jeven video that we hardly see Jevens headshots is a part of the experiment ofc LoL! Wow so this Thailand video will be like 4d like we're really in it a part of it that's amazing.
This is so crazy! I am on computer and moving the video with the mouse is still possible as well.....
Yeah its such an interesting format to shoot in. If you get the chance to watch these films on a headset its a completely different viewing experience
Great primer for VR 180. If I record in that format but need to bail for some reason, does the footage translate pretty easily to a regular 2D sequence in Premiere?
It's such a unique format to portray people, particularly up close (1-3 feet) - at the current resolution limits, any further away will feel blurry, the effect you described around min. 11:30 ... I think the format is under-utilized for interview and object demonstration situations.
having a little chuckle looking at the crooked horizon over the sea, then you start talking about how critical is is to get the horizon right before hitting record.
I LOVE IT!!!! What is the best head set to use??? I want to buy one really bad!!! V.R. is going to take over!!!! Great Channel!
👍😀👍
I'm really happy with my Oculus Go. Thats what I've been using to watch my VR content
Jeven whats the difference between that setup and gopro max or Qooocam 8k 360 where you can even do 360 vr with a much smaller size ?
You explained it very good thanks for the video but I have no VR Glases and on the phone it doesn’t look very sharp and the black Frame is 😟but the technology is good the viewer is more inside the film not only watching from outside all has pros and cons
😎👍
Short correction I had it 480s now on 2160s the sharpness is ok 👌🏿
One more question: What is the name of the monopod, the hi-hat, and the extension arm that you are using? I looked around in your links below the video and I don't see them listed! I am trying to replicate the setup. You def earned a subscriber here! Thanks man!!
Hi! Do you know if there is now better prosumer gear for shooting vr180?
So how do you edit VR180 videos in Final Cut Pro?
Is it hard to have the camera move in VR rather than static shots?
Did you shoot this video (at least the introduction portion) at 4k at 60fps or 6k at 30 fps on the K1 Pro? Thanks!
6k
@@JevenDovey Awesome thanks!
Whats the camera you are using please?
Good explained :)
I preffer the 360° videos because you have more room for creativity and more options :) of course you have to pay more atention to your surounding because the viewer sees everything :) but you have a 180° cam automaticly with you ^^
in my opinion, to say this is VR is not correct. I miss the feature to realy look around, look behind me and so on. That is what is really VR. because in realitiy my view is not limited on the edges...but this is just my opinion :) it is still a nice feature and it is nice to see youtube is headin towards it. i'm looking forword to do this thing with 360° :)
I think i stick with my 360° videos :D
One point is also it takes more GB to film in 180 how many GB you need for a 10 min Film might be interesting 🤔?
yeah
Hi. How much better is Z Cam K1 pro than Insta360 Evo? I think about insta360 one R Twin - for 3D VR180. I can buy Z Cam K1 Pro, but it much expensive than insta360 One R. Is it worth overpaying for Z Cam K1 pro?
The K1 pro is miles ahead of the one R for VR 180. The footage looks great and has much better dynamic range but if you want 360 then go for the one R
Jeven Dovey ok, thanks a lot. Which gimbal do you recommend? I think about Moza Air. Does it fit to Z Cam K1 Pro?
you can enlarge video only 3x then it becomes a still
as a Google trusted photographer I can tell you that sadly nobody cares about VR 360 (and now 180)... people, Google, Arbnb, real estate market, tourism industry, you name it... but anyway thanks for your review.
Arraial HD WOW!!! As a Google VIEWER I can tell you that I was intrigued by this.
Can't comment from my VR headset.
Please don't take the lack of comments as an indication of apathy.
K this is cool and all but on desktop this is a pain on phone it’s cool tho
Try it out in googles. So cool and immersive
Jeven Dovey yeah I will
180? Why not 360?
Because it’s easier to consume. You can sit in a chair and not have to swivel around to experience everything
Jeven Dovey IM trying to get into the 360 world. 180 is new to me. Thanks.
@@franktorres7963 I think VR180 is a good bridge to get people into watching more VR content. 360 is really cool but harder to watch while relaxing. I think theres a place for both VR180 and 360
In 360 you have less resolution. I had the vuze xr which could shoot 360 and vr180 but always prefer the 3d 180. Better quality. The difficulty is to edit. The resolution is superior to 4k for the best quality. Exactly 5.7k. You cannot edit in free Davinci Resolve. I had Vegas 18 pro but this software was crashing very often. To add title it is also difficult in VR. You need plug in or Davinci Resolve Studio. The google 180 tool was not working with the vuze xr.
Oh...10 min in, and totally out of voice sync
All is out of sync or just one shot?
@@JevenDovey from about 10 min and all the way to the end
It’s not necessary and a waist of money. Not for everyone
It's not for everyone only because it's more troublesome to use. Average people use their phone, not even a camera, to record what they see, usually the mundane stuff. That's how they got into TikTok and other phone camera apps. Their preferred way of framing is vertical, very seldom horizontal. This alone already violates the art of videography. Telling them to record in horizontal is a waste of time. They don't "brain" that way.
Now, imagine if you will. You love going to a place. You've gone there for ages. This place may be where you had your first date, your social gathering spot, etc. It may even be your house. One day some landowner or government decides the place will be replaced with something else, because of profit$. You're despondent. The place means the world to you. So you go there with your phone and shoot a video in vertical. Then you watch it on your computer and find it lacking. What direction is this frame facing? What's there on the other end of the frame? How come the picture is so small, even when you shot it in 4K? People who think VR is unnecessary usually don't go outdoors, or they are stuck to the traditional mode of video watching. That is, it must have an aspect ratio of 16:9. And the picture must be cropped and only points to a certain target. Usually people focus on themselves. They'd go to the Grand Canyon, and shoot themselves instead of the canyon. I don't know about others, but put me in Grand Canyon, and I'd want to capture the whole place. I'd want to spin around and look everywhere. I look back at the photos I took for many decades. Majority of those places no longer exist. I wish I could've captured them in 360. In fact I'd make a whole video game of those places. But without footage of those places, where do I even begin? So yes, this VR thing is definitely not for everyone. Just like in the Matrix, you need to take the red pill to understand how deep the rabbit hole goes. Most people would rather not.
