You are a genius. I've made similar mods for the insta one R one inch cameras, Osmo Action cameras, and have been banging my head against a wall trying to custom 3d print a case for 2 gopro 11's. I don't think enough people appreciate the problem solving you've done. Using the square shape of the lenses to lock the orientation is brilliant. My current problem is trying to access all the buttons on the cameras. Either I block of a power button, or block off a record button. Going vertical like you've done, I think can still reach it. Thanks for sharing!
Sorry but im new and trying to learn for my son and i. We want to record 180 and 360 video you can feel part of such as a high school club or sport activity and promote it on the school websites for more info and peaking interests in different groups. My main question is, what do 2 separate GoPROs do for you? I have a Hero 9 but the max lens. I also just ordered a Insta360 One X3. We plan to do some more practice and experimenting shots while skiing Mt Hood this weekend, hopefully! Im a novice and last Sat my dang camera on my chesty kept dipping down towards my skiis as i ski kind of fast with vibration. I kept trying to tighten the knob so it wouldn’t keep moving down but i dont have the “man hands” required for most GoPro parts & accessories, and my large battery “case” i have the GoPro inside makes the camera more heavy and probably not helping it stay locked. Would really appreciate any suggestions. 🙏 😃
You can try doing the verbal go pro command, “go pro start recording / stop recording”. I use that all the time because otherwise it was too hard for me to get the buttons as well, especially with ski gloves on! ⛷️ i am surprised how well it works most of the time

Can you show results of that setup?
Do you get any problems with the GoPro frames falling out of sync. I’m trying to do a similar setup but for 3d instead of VR. I’m told I need 2 cameras that have genlock, which GoPros don’t, but VR and 3d are very similar, so I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s possible as long as the VR is possible.
Struggling to find a cold shoe male to coldshoe male to work with the media mod and adjustable cold shoe rail... What did you ise that went from tripod to male cold shoe?

The post processing process it is really exhaustive? or do you think it's viable to use it shoot some VR scenes for vlogging? Especially now that the only "available" consumers models are impossible to find the quality would be unusable in some years (similar as watching a mirage camera footage now)

one question, Can you get the same 180 vr effect from just using a single gopro10 with lense mod? I'm actually happy with the depth I get from my GoPro Max, just want better quality.

On UA-cam, anything you upload will only playback in 4K, so, it doesn't matter anyways...
You think I can get 2 One X2's, tape them together and call it a day? Max Lens Mod really necessary?
2 360 cams would work fine… matching up the frames might be a challenge. Since the One x 2’s don’t have any straight edges… getting them to point in the same direction will be tough with tape. Two R’s or RS’s with a spacer would be good.
@@ShawnFoxhorn That makes total sense, thank you. How about 2 not so wide FOV cameras, say Osmo Action 1? Have you tried how it would look like if it's not 180? I imagine only around 110ish
@@joeyrodriguez7125 at that point it is just a 3D video… still very nice to look at in a VR headset and a lot less headache. Many cameras are going 4:3 aspect ratio which is almost a square.

I've been experimenting with two Sony Action cams with the lens centre offset 60mm. I can edit the footage from the left and right cam in Final Cut Pro but when I export the video in a 2:1 ratio I can't get a full imersion, just cinematic rectangular video to show on my Oculus Quest 2. Any tips on how to make a more immersive video?
I'll be releasing a video example soon. I have written software to do it mostly automatically. It does take the program a long time though and if you have a very long video then you have to leave it overnight but the results are great. Once generated you then use an injector which is freely available to put the spacial data in (again automatically). Then just upload to youtube.
