To be honest, isn't every single human "non-binary"?
Really, it seems that the soul has no gender (which makes sense, because our bodies possess our reproductive parts, not our souls). So, unless someone constantly thinks of their gender every second of their lives, no one completely feels they are one gender or other, they just feel like themselves right?
I think some people our out of touch with how most other people think and feel, so they assume that if they feel like themselves, and they aren't consciously aware of their gender constantly, they are different than others and they are non-binary. But, I think everyone, except for people that have gender dysphoria or body dysmorphic disorder, don't focus on their gender and are what is described as "non-binary."
Seriously, when you think of yourself do you automatically think of your gender or race, or are you just you, until you have a social need to categorize yourself?
I am always just myself, and only think of myself as a female when I have a need to categorize myself, such as when I have to use the public restroom, fill out a form, buy clothing, and so on. I also think of the fact that I am female when I am experiencing something that only someone of my sex can experience, such as buy sanitary napkins, delivering a baby, or breastfeeding my baby. In practically every other aspect of life, so about 95% of the time, I never think of my gender at all. For instance, I have thoughts such as, "I'm hungry," not "I'm a woman that's hungry."

@THE HOLYROCKER But the color blue is an abstract and many people would ardently disagree with different shades being 'more' green or purple for their taste. It seems that in ancient Greece they didnt even refer to colors anything like we do now, a word that implies color could mean anything from grey to blue or yellow, or that word may not have anything to do with color at all. To the ancient Greeks, the sky was definetaly not 'blue' because that was just not how they mentally saw the world. Its a rabbit-hole of mind-bending proportions. =3

Lord Freeza well no my friend. Nonbinary is an unbrella term. Anyone can be Nonbinary with something else in a subcategory. Kinda like, "school" and within school you have a bunch of tiny subcategories. (Classes/periods)
Nonbinary itself means not make or female. Not NO gender. Sure, some enby folks have no gender, but some have two genders, three, multiple, half and half, bits and pieces, a new thing all on it's own or maybe even fluctuate through them often.
I don't understand how people get so confused by it. When I was young, I was super baffled. How could someone be not Male or female? Right??? That didn't make sense. But as soon as I looked up the term, it imediently clicked. Such a simple consept. Really, it's easier then Math, by far. Some people may struggle to understand, like how some do with math, but in the end, everything is made up. Republican is a made up word. So is Democrat, God, Cheese, Math, Names... It's language.
Nonbinary identies have existed throughout history. The problem is, it seems like it's just "becoming" a thing. But in reality, there were people in all counties, cultures, religions and communities who had these thoughts, but settled... That's what we did.. we settled. There was no language for what they felt, so they just chose one... They were unhappy, but dealt with it...
Now we have language to describe what we feel. Is there really anything that makes sence? You THINK it makes sence, but that's just because you've been conditioned to it.
Just some facts for you, not really stating my opinion here..

This stuff makes me laugh xD Like, convincing people that sex and gender are different is a whole other topic in itself, but just the fact that people think there is only 'penis' and 'vagina' is hilarious. What about intersex? And if gender isn't a social contruct, why is it different across cultures? And finally, nonbinary people have been in history for centuries now, so how was it resently 'made up'? All this information is available for the public yet people would rather waste their time feeling offended or triggered by someone else's gender rather than being educated. But hey, some idiots in the world still believe the earth is flat, so I guess some people are just gonna be dumb. Oh well.
The amount of people who deny the existence of intersex individuals is truly sad. Also people who are diagnosing non-binary people with mental illnesses as if they are certified to diagnose someone. Lmao. There is always a grey area nothing is exclusively black or white.

We are mentioning intersex people because of the argument some idiots bring up which is that there are only 2 sexes/genders, which is not true cuz intersex individuals exist and so many people deny their existence for some reason. Also doctors operate on intersex infants when there is nothing wrong with them just so they fit as "male" or "female".
I think the problem is people have a "one or the other" way of thinking, wanting people to have to pick between the "two genders". They also shut down and are completely close minded when we try explaining, and then they just start throwing insults around. I'm not saying everyone is like this, there are plenty of people who although they may be unclear or confused, they accept us, and instead of shunning or making others feel worse, they move on and live their lives.

All you’ve got to do is shun or embrace these things and show by example that you live as exactly the person you are without needing a label. Most people look like a male or female anyway regardless of pronouns and bathrooms. So why fight nature when you can be uniquely you. You don’t have to join a fad that has more oppressive rules, boxes, categories and politics than mainstream society. David Bowie will be cringing in his grave at this herd of gender sheep.

Hi, you don't have to read this if you don't wanna hear my rant.
I was in my room, watching UA-cam while doing homework, and my mom came into my room and asked what I was doing. I said that I was texting my friend, and my mom said "are you texting a boy...or a girl..?" I said no. She said started talking to me about gender and said to me "you know you're a girl right?" And I said "yep". She then said "good, you better not come to me saying that you're a boy or a... whatever..". I'm a closeted non-binary Asexual and aromatic, and now I'm too scared to come out.
I don't know how to help you but I'm gonna say that if your parents won't love you for who you are they don't deserve you. your supported and loved more than you know, I know how hard it feels to be scared of your own parents because of things like that but talk to someone a friend or something like that it will help

Can you make a video on the process of getting trans healthcare? I live in the Netherlands too and besides the fkin rediculous waiting list (I got on it when it was ten months, by now its around a year I think) it's also literally on the other side of the country for me. (I live in Noord-Brabant). I'm just kinda scared of what the process is like and not sure if they'd even take non-binary that seriousely... Is the waiting list for testosterone and stuff long? do you have a lot of appointments (Id have to travel back and forth so much ;-;) etc

I’m a young non-binary and I’m still in school and my teachers are accepting of it and I honestly wish people would be accepting of it because this isn’t easy to drill into people’s heads that when I present feminine I’m still non-binary, when I present masculine I’m still non-binary. So thank you I really like that you’re open about being non-binary because I’m a closet non-binary on my main social because of fear so thank you giving me confidence!
It’s been a long time coming, my slowly realizing/accepting that I am agender, and I’m still scared. Through my whole life, I’ve always struggled to make room for myself. I always think “how dare I take up space if anyone ever slightly gets miffed by it.” But a few days ago, I finally realized I am agender. I’m scared and excited; esp for pride. I don’t want anyone to feel like I just want to be part of the party and am taking away from Trans people in the binary. It’s a tender time I guess, so thank you. Agghhhhh I’m scared.

Everyone calls me a girl my parents refuse to use my preferred name and people at school argue with me about my gender saying there are only two genders and I’m a girl no matter what I suffer from depression because of this I feel like I live in a world where I am expected to not be myself if I can get some supportive reply’s that would be great thank you and stay awesome

I think sometimes people forget about the difference between sex and gender. You can always tell because they might bring up how it’s “science”. And yeah, scientifically, I am a female. But does science understand how my mind works? Does science read my thoughts? All science does is tell me my genitalia. That’s all female is. Gender, however, is more complicated. It involves the mind and how the mind perceives the body. That’s why we say ‘gender is a spectrum’ and not ‘sex is a spectrum’. Idk, share your thoughts.
Why do people watch videos about people like us if they hate us? Like.....I'm not Christian, so I don't watch videos about Christianity. Is it that hard to respect that we are different and be on your way since we're not hurting anyone?
Being non-binary is amazing and the people that are non-binary are just as great as everyone else and don't deserve the hate they get. Yes, theoretically there are two genders. But, being non-binary/agender means you don't identify as either gender. Does that necessarily make it another gender? In some cultures there are four genders, who's to say that there are only two? You're great for staying strong, Noah. For all of our genderless hearts, we thank and love you.

I am non-binary I find lots of types of people most who disrespect me but some people who want me to feel powerful I have a trans friend he was the first person to make me feel accepted and even now he is my best friend both of us have familys that don't accept us both we stick together that's all we can do just stay close to the ones who accept you for you.

I told a friend I was lesbian (I was still confused on what “gender” I was). He told my entire school. That was in fourth grade. Fifth grade. I’m tilting towards bisexual, since I’ve had major crushes on boys and girls. Also fifth grade. Pansexual, as I see myself fit with any “gender”. Sixth grade - now. Non-binary/agender. Still haven’t told my parents, as they said it was a mental disability. Also kids call me an attention seeker, and continually call me gay girl or lesfuck. So yeah, middle school has been great, you?
i lived the same, but my mother knows. she kinda accepts it, but stills call me the wrong pronouns & by my deadname bc "it's a habit & she can't change it".

My parents are non-binary haters, which is a problem because I am non-binary and I made the mistake of coming out of the closet to them.
I feel you there. My father is super old school religious. Like, women cant be on the stage area (sorry dont know what its called) level stuff.

Even if you don't support or understand non binary people you should still respect them and use their pronouns and name. Or if you want to try and understand them more try doing some research on way some people may feel this way and it may change your mind.

What happens if I don’t feel like a boy or a girl?
Nothing. You simply id as what you are. The sex you were born with. The end.
Then you can identify as you please. If you stay from make to female feelings then you can say Gender fluid, but if you feel like your both or neither then you can call your self Non-binary. But that's all up to you

@Alaina Howard actually you can feel feminine or masculine or feel like a boy or a girl as you call it do to chemical balances and imbalances in your brain.
You could possibly be non binary or agender etc. or it could just be that you feel that way
I actually love the haters. I would rather be vilified for being NB than be accepted for passing convincingly as female. It feels oddly validating.
