Gregg's voice sounds like he drank honey mixed with gasoline and gravel. Just one of a kind.

A long time ago I was a telemarketer and one of the folks I contacted was a Mrs Allman and she was somewhere in the South. I said “oh like Greg Allman?” She said that’s that’s my nephew! I swear the souls of Robert Johnson, Muddy Waters, ZZ Hill and BB King came back in some of the whites dudes. Excellent job!
I had never heard this version by Greg until a DJ played it this am. I have loved The Allman brothers since 1971. This is awesome. 🎶❤🎶

You know an artist is a monster when they cover a classic and do it just as well or better(i.e. My Maria, Brooks and Dunn.)
Geez I loved the original version of My Maria. I think I remember in the 70s it was a minor hit but I loved it. Probably bought the old 45!

It was never lost on me... he was a southern gentle- man, (his soul was gentle) but, he will ALWAYS be a wild eye southern boy, to me...I still have the silver top hat that he took from me here, ( IF this is Skull's Rainbow Room), so I would follow him next door to get it back... THIS is a true MUSCLE SHOALS SOUND song... and WHAT a delivery...(🎶"I need you darlin',, I need you right now"🎶)... who wouldn't, slip way😘💞

I saw Gregg sometime at a Baseball Stadium . I don't remember where . Maybe Alaska 1983 . At any rate. Great Job ! Dan Tolar playing his Gibson ! He played a Charvel in later years. I think .

Not much a fan of "covers", (as there are so many "These Days") Yet, ever since hearing Gregg Allman and his band "cover" that o'le Clarence Carter song/tune without disrespecting it, or mutilize it, think he,and the band "jazzed" it up a bit, yet, in true form to the "origional" . @@kcovington5798 the first girl that appears in the video that says great show Gregg that was the girl he was dating at the time. She became a porn star after they broke up. Stage name Savannah. She ended up committing suicide later on. Gregg never talked about her in any of his later interviews.
