I was 21 years old when Clarence Carter's "Slip Away" first hit the radio in my hometown of Los Angeles, CA. Radio stations KRLA/AM and KHJ/AM were belting out this sound and the AM radio in my 1957 Chevrolet was picking it up and laying it down. I only wish that I could have been there, at this performance, to enjoy a sound that is always remembered but is slipping away. This music is the vehicle I ride back into my cherished past with. I cannot tell you how special this music is to me.

I would listen to my Zenith shortwave multiband radio as a child and would pick up BBC radio late at night and learn about the music they called Northern Soul. I looked it up on Wikipaedia and got the following: Northern soul is a music and dance movement that emerged in Northern England in the late 1960s from the British mod scene as a particular style of black American soul music based on the heavy beat and fast tempo of the mid-1960s Tamla Motown sound. I learned more about Northern Soul from Miss Sarah Collins and her Northern Soul Band and the release of her Keep The Faith album release.
