Fagen is known as being grumpy, and is critical of most other artists and bands out there - but he might actually like and respect Louis Cole. But whatever someone else thinks, it is just opinion and I think Louis is totally awesome.

Sorry to hear that dude, it is great song but it's shit to have no close friends. What worked for me (which might not work for everyone) is just start going to public events that correspond with your interests. If you're into a certain type of music, go to those concerts, especially if the band isn't that famous so it's relatively small. If you're into videogames or tabletop RPGs, go to gamer events, most major cities have them. If you live in a rural area (like me), then plan your trips to the city out way in advance, make sure what you're going to is good and book a hostel or cheap Airbnb. Basically, just keep finding opportunities to meet people who are into the same things you are and you'll make friends, it just happens naturally. I know you didn't ask for advice so feel free to tell me to fuck off, but just saw your comment and it made me think of my own struggle with such things. I have a pretty solid friend group of people who are equally as weird as me now.

Whole album is great. I don’t generally listen to entire albums in a single session anymore, but I played this from start to finish without even really thinking about it. The eclectic mix of genres and creative harmonies - which are complex, but don’t cross the line of being “too technical” or “technical merely for technicality’s sake” - really drive home what a talented composer he is.
Anyone who secretly thinks that drummers aren’t “real” musicians should listen to this.
