Metronomes practice to Louis Cole
it took me a solid minute to realize what the joke was but when i did i had a genuine laugh.
so trueeeee
reminds me on Chuck Norris XD
I would say the metronome just surrenders.
"The kind of magic only Louis Cole can make" -Jacob Collier
when did he say that?
@@parkivich instagram
@@David-zn8lg which post did he say it?
@@mafirasyaharani7836 number 3. and the quote is "Only Louis Cole can do this kind of magic".
@@jordanputt What do you mean by "post number 3" his third most recent? His third most liked? His 3rd oldest?
When he started playing the hi-hat fills AGAINST HIMSELF at 6:31 in a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT METER, like a DJ overlaying two tracks, I lost my shit.
Imagine how much amazing shit he's never released
SO MUCH
like prince?
Like those ClownCore songs he totally didn't have anything to do with.
u got lucky. hope you saw it already!
aw man just imagine all the stuff that never got recorded, i know some of if not most of my best drum moments have only been and will only ever be heard once.
Louis is one of those rare guys who's invented his own genre of music...not only is Clown Core a multi-disciplinary type of music it is 100% the pure spirit of clowning
Scary chops
Absolutely!
louis cole is a version of jacob collier that did a lot of drugs in high school
Louis is what Jacob wants to be when he grows up and stops putting ALL THE IDEAS into every single arrangement :p
jacob collier meets vulfpeck
@@spencerfraye1780 Those two are totally different than Louis Cole.

@@spencerfraye1780 Thanks. I know that one. Of course, they can play together, but that doesn't mean their approach is the same.

hahaha😂
Louis and Knower might be known for their incredible funk, but Louis' choral arrangements and ballads always stun me the most. So beautiful!

I really wish LC would stream his practice sessions
or just some solo jam stuff, like what Leo P does
he would just be streaming all the time then. The man must practice more than anyone else
@@HakureiReimuOfficial sounds great!
Yeah he’s the only musician I know that I would pay to watch practice. Everything he does is absolutely jammin
I sincerely hope Louis one day makes an album filled with just choir arrangements. The way he effortlessly channels grand masters like Clare Fischer, Claus Ogerman or Brian Wilson, simply baffles me.
Couis Lole 😅
I hope so- his songs without words move me to tears
As a musician, I feel like a clown in my core after watching
I understand this reference.
Holy shit
Nice vids dude, I guess the Louis Cole and Noodle audience don’t overlap much

A surprise to be sure, but a welcome one.

#7 is so beautiful goddamn, can’t wait to illegally sample this
Number 7 is legit the most relaxing thing I've ever heard in my life.
Damn! That Money bass line sounds even sicker isolated!
He also made it even more funky, if that’s possible
And what size would you like the alien shirt, sir?:
LC: Yes
Joel Morse I need someone to find it for me in that size

I want them to get together and put out a country and western album to blow all our brains out.
wow, the melody on #7 is emotionally vivid. nothing but love for this one-of-a-kind musician.
Yeah I could go for a 10h version of that
almost ethereal
#7..... stunning! Enya first cornered the market on hundreds of voices recorded on one track. It's a weird comparison.... but that really is what he's got going there. He was born for music. The end!!
I saw the original cut of this video where he played them all at the same time. It was fairly impressive.
He told me personally that he excluded that shot from the uploaded version as he didn't want to come across as arrogant. I told him that his fanbase would be understanding; but he is stubbornly humble.
Sequence 7 is one take btw. Captured on a 29 lens camera.

“Hush now, don’t you cry. Everything will be just fine”.
I started jamming hard when he played Overtime
Saiyan C.J what did he play?
The Zesty Chunk at 2:54 he starts to play kinda watered down version of a song called Overtime which is from a duo he’s in called knower. They make good shit
#7 is a serious gem btw... gave me chills
Love the name!!
Check out Ian William Craig (a turn of breath is my favourite record.). Fairly sure Louis got his inspiration there.
Some of these are begging to be sampled
4:40 literally puts me in my feels. Everytime I hear it. It just takes me back to when I lost my family. Louis cole you're a gift brother.
Wow. 🙏🏽
Some of his atmospheric choral arrangements are so beautiful; they make me cry every time
Listen to "Let it happen" you'll be taken to another world.
HE HAS RETURNED WITH SOME FUNK
Some? that’s an understatement if ever I heard one
that a capella piece still gives me the feels
Sometimes his performance is very hard to comprehend. The first drum clip leaves me speechless. What an outstanding talent. What a diligence. And he´s still a young guy. I´m curious about the next surprises to come. Chapeau mille fois! Btw: His band Knower is also a killer...
Damn, 7 is beautiful
Your feel for harmonies is exceptional and the way you record vocal harmonies is just insane
Louis reminds me so much of my roommate, I wouldn't be surprised if I walk downstairs one day and there's Louis just slapping away in the laundry room
@son vult yeah m'ate I wanna see this roomate myself
This guy man....So glad I found him.
i cant imagine him ever having to practice to be this good i feel like he was just born this way hes an alien enigma
He said himself it took him 4 months of practice to nail down the bass part. He is undoubtedly talented but he puts the work in too.
in that cover of overtime he looks like he's concentrating so hard
The one dislike is Lars Ulrich
And his grand kids
Epic ex de

Lol I love the mental picture of Lars just downvoting musicians on UA-cam all day
😭
I'm addicted to #7 which has rendered me emotional and creative
#7 is absolutely gorgeous!
#3 at 1:10 is the best from all snippets. We want a full song!
Yes please, that snippet makes me tear up
6:06 that guy in the audience with a vulfpeck shirt tho
Sorry for the late reply, this is actually me! This was a concert that happened in pa! It was awesome!
It gets funkier IV
#7 was so melodic I felt like I was at the cinema experiencing an open wide shot of the sea or some other natural marvel.
watching these makes me feel warm and comforted
one of the most talented and hard-working musicians to ever exist
He did in fact play those instruments. The vocal arrangements were legit as well. Dude you are something else
#7 is haunting you to be made into a fully fledged single Louis. Embrace your inner Anúna.
I think it's safe to say this guy has some potential in music possibly.
You are truly an inspiration. Been playing my electronic drumset more than ever since I discovered you and working towards a real set.
Wouldn't have known about the concert in LA if not for this video, just bought tickets, thanks.
Dude, thank you so much for saying this! I had no idea, either. I just saw Cory Wong at the Troubador on Saturday and he was playing some Louis Cole videos before the show started. I was thinking to myself "hmm, I wonder if Louis is gonna be doing shows again soon?" but then I got Wong'd for 2 hours and forgot all about it until now.
I'm also extremely intrigued by the fact the title of this show/tour is "Louis Cole Big Band". If it's anything like the big band that Jacob Mann (with Louis on drums, ofc) put together, I'm gonna lose my shit. That group was amazing, and there was a lot of overlap because most of those same musicians played on the Louis Cole "live sesh" songs.
@barbarino Yeah, I got to see Knower before I even knew who they were. They opened for "Thundercat" back in 2015 (I think) in LA and they blew my mind. I've been a fan of Louis and Genevieve ever since then.
My only regret is not getting to see them again when they had a full band, especially when Sam was playing bass with them.
I don't know if we'll get any specific details on the upcoming shows, but the whole labeling it as a "big band" is awesome and if it actually means that literally, I'm gonna be in heaven. The blending of my favorite genres and Louis is crazy and good enough to pull it off.
saw a few of these on twitter, fresh as hell. that overtime keyboard jam is seriously hot, i'd love to hear a few more bars.
1:52 I love your Michael Jackson shirt!
Half of these comments are 4 years ago, why have I not come across you before.... Holy shit.
Just epic, seriously epic.
7 is holy fuuuuuuuuuuck. Louis Cole should do an ambient album sometime!
Number 4: One of the rare times we get to see Cole actually make a "concentration face".
I beginning to think he just didn't struggle with anything haha
Also, number 7 has some clear Sigur Ros/Jonsi influence in those super high pitched/vibrato-y lines.
Just gorgeous.
