    Love the videos! Great quality and informative! How are you enjoying your tint on the windows? I'm thinking about this as well, I have the Ibis White and i'm contemplating it because I don't know how I feel about the contrast.

      Thanks a lot! I personally enjoy the tints as I like the privacy as well as the contrast it provides with the black wheels. Mine are tinted at 20% but you could opt to do a 35-50% tint which is lighter. It would give it a slight contrast but not as drastic as mine!

    • @DIYDetail
      @DIYDetail  3 роки тому +1

      Thanks so much! Haha it’s puzzled me too. I guess they did it for “efficiency” since the on-board computer tells you how much oil is left but the bigger question is - how do you tell if the oil is good or not with that computer?

    • @mojojuicejoe1
      @mojojuicejoe1 3 роки тому

      Precisely! As a fellow New Jersen I demand answers!!! I always thought it was a safety thing. It getting so cold here the stick would freeze in the tube. But, as a friend pointed out that that's a stupid idea cause all you would have to do is turn the car on for 5 minutes and your problem is gone.

    • @DIYDetail
      @DIYDetail  3 роки тому

      That does make sense but as you pointed out, a quick warm up resolves that. The international versions still have the dip stick! I guess we’ll never truly know why they took it out from the US models haha

    hey quick question, i am getting some engine stutters on full load. My spark plugs are 65k km old, could it be caused by that? audi a5 b9 2.0 252hp tuned to 320

    • @DIYDetail
      @DIYDetail  3 роки тому +2

      Hey! That could be one reason since it’s at that replacement internal. It could also be caused by the tune (if you’re running a stage 2, you might need to make the gap smaller or larger for it to work properly). In most cases, misfires are spark plug related. If it doesn’t solve that, it might be worth looking at the fuel injectors and see if you’re getting enough fuel through the injectors

    • @BMH1965
      @BMH1965 3 роки тому

      Not enough fuel reaching the combustion chamber - the tune is wrong.

    Well Done Video. One question: My 2019 Audi A4 shows, via the engine sticker, the recommended oil is Castrol 0W-30 and VW 504 (North America)

    • @DIYDetail
      @DIYDetail  3 роки тому +2

      Thanks! I checked the maintenance schedule for the 2019+ Audi A4’s and looks like they’ve changed it to the spec you listed (504 00). I’m not too sure why but it looks like it’s the right one. As long as the oil you get matches what’s on the service tag and user manual, you’ll be good to go. Hope that helps!

      @@DIYDetail Thanks for the followup. I literally went out to the car and read directly from the engine bay. Car was manufactured late in 2019 and actually, on the oil filler cap, it says "Audi recommends Castrol". One mystery is these VW specs. Which grade supersedes which other grade. If you could get to the bottom of this it would be very useful. Sorry about all the edits.

    I did my 3rd oil change using your video as a guide, thank you. I had an issue this time though. After it was all buttoned up, I started the car and there was a noticable chugging and uneven idle. I didn't get any warning lights and thought to let it circulate the new oil for a minute. I looked for leaks and such but saw nothing. The car felt like it wanted to die so I turned it off. I thought the oil filter that I bought from ECS Tuning and had no markings on it was the wrong one. But it was the exact same size as the OEM one and came in a VW/Audi branded box. Turns out, I had forgotten to put the dipstick cap back on. But I thought maybe I over filled the oil too, so pumped out almost a quart of oil. I started the car again and it idled beautifully. The oil level indicator was between Max and Min so after a short drive I topped it off and the car runs smoothly. I'm not sure of the exact reason for my issue but am relieved it worked out. Btw, I have a 2017 A4 and the sticker under the hood says to use VW50800 0w-20. So that's what I use.

    • @DIYDetail
      @DIYDetail  3 роки тому

      I believe the issue might have been not having the cap back on. I had that happen to me once and it felt as though the engine was about to fall out. Leaving the cap off disrupts the vacuum atmosphere that pumps the oil through the system. Is it still running fine after?
      Depending on where your car is, the oil requirements change (even within the states)!

    • @DIYDetail

      Congrats! I know from the older models (up to 2015), there’s a switch in top frame of the glovebox that lets you turn the airbag (not just the light) on and off but I believe in the 2016+ models, you’d have to use the VAGCOM tool to disable it. I’m not too sure about this though!

    Hey man, I happened to notice that your Audi A4 is lowered. Do you mind sharing what kind of suspension mods you used? I ask because I’ve read some conflicting things. Some articles saying that if you replace the stock suspension, you lose the Audi dynamic suspension that incorporates the Audi drive select regulating system & Audi dynamic steering. I’ve read you lose the ‘suspension adjustments’ that happen when you got from say Comfort mode to Dynamic mode but that the acceleration/aggressiveness of the engine will still adjust, you only lose the suspension adjustments the system makes. Do you know anything about that/have you experienced this yourself? Would love to hear because I have the same car but in black and want to lower it.

    • @DIYDetail
      @DIYDetail  3 роки тому +1

      Hey! So mine isn’t lowered at the moment. I’m usually driving in Dynamic Mode, which drops the suspension by about 20mm or so. The black wheels and rims make the wheel gap “look” smaller luckily
      I’ve had the same doubts as you when it comes to lowering. From what I’ve seen and read is that if you go with coil overs, you would lose that suspension adjustment as well as get several error codes when changing driving modes. Lowering springs on the other hand, in most cases, retain the suspension adjustment but the main issue is if the lowering spring is already at a compressed state, the dynamic mode might cause the spring to compress more hence making it more stiff. Personally, I’d go with lowering springs and not slam it to the ground so the spring still has room to compress a bit more when changing between comfort and dynamic. Hope that helps! You can check out audizine forums as there’s a lot of people who recommend brands and lowering distance to go as well as any problems they had during/after install
