Why would the Lululemon Management Team encourage their employees to confront one another for stealing? That is a horrible idea to put employees in danger of conflict with each other. I hope Jana’s family sued Lululemon. As I see them as having culpability.
Not only that, as Dr. Grande mentioned earlier, employees could (falsely) accuse one another of theft. Even worse, one of the employees could rob the other's bag of his/her own belongings and/or plant store merchandise in it. In short, this system is a disaster from the start.
Not only that but no cameras anywhere in the store?? That’s just begging for theft in general. What a terrible system.
@@red_five3325 OR they could both steal and ignore each others thieving! Either way, it's a ridiculous system.
Every place I've worked, they tell you to go to management for things that serious. It's horrific what happened to Jayna. No need for it at all. It could have been avoided if management would have care about their employees.
It’s call team work. If team members are not encouraged to confront problems, the operation falters!!!!! Have you ever owned or manage operate a business of any size? Also mental illness is the root of all crimes because the perps have stopped all rational thinking altogether!
I met Jayna a few years before she was murdered. I was (am) friends with her older brother. She was a delightful human. She is missed terribly by the Murray family. They have since maintained her legacy through the Jayna Troxel Murray Foundation which provides enrichment scholarships to university students. Thank you for covering this, Dr. Grande. Felt good to hear Jayna's name.
Such a tragic story 💔
@Melanie Pennock I cannot imagine enduring such a tragedy. Thank you for providing an update; sending prayers of peace and love to Jana’s family and friends.
She seemed to be too good a person for today's world. She was certainly intelligent, but who could predict a homicide over stolen tights. They should have really checked Brittany's background better. That store does operate on a high level of trust.
@@tinafoster8665 The employees in Montréal are about the friendliest in any store. As the Doc joked though, the prices are a crime. That store had no security cameras at all, inside or out. The Apple employees that heard the entire attack were disgusting. They heard both voices as distinct, so you know they knew it was an employee conflict at that hour... A serious one. Trust is the best, but these days you can't even expect common sense. She should never have allowed herself to be lured back to the store alone. She should have gone with security. Sad because by her words she really couldn't understand why that girl was killing her. Anyways, be safe.
Extremely sad. Why people never call 911 I don't unerstand.
It mystifies me , when stories are told by neighbors who hear the thumps, screams, requests for help and general bludgeoning that last for the better part of an hour and say to themselves or others , "meh".
Yes! Sick puppy!
I can understand people being scared, but that's why you call the police 🤷🏻♀️.
Clearly people are numb to others troubles. Apple store employees there case in point.

I can't believe the apple store workers didn't call the police. That's insane. If I heard a woman screaming and many accompanying sounds, I'd be calling 911.
That's the typical apple employee for you.
Why didn't they? The words and screams that they heard consistently were not congruent with just drama. Well, unless you just don't give one good care about anything.
Yeah if you aren't gonna go help it's the least you could do. It's crazy they didn't bother.
Too much to expect from their "geniuses."

You weren't allowed to approach a shoplifter? Did you work in Northern CA?
@@peekaboots01 no, Oklahoma.
I worked at Ross too. Even if we saw a customer stealing we weren't to confront them. But the employees had to go thru each other's purse before we left the building. Completely stupid policy. P.S. Lulamon has the ugliest clothes I've ever seen.
Traditional mist theft happens in house but it’s usually management so I’ve never understood this procedure. Yeah the manager orders someone to “look” they their bags but they can’t really do it.
@@peekaboots01most stores you can’t approach customers only department stores have that type of security & insurance because they have multiple items that are 10s of thousands of dollars. In fact Brittany's ex boyfriend got a restraining order against her claiming that she had broken into his apartment and also that she was physically abusive to him. So there was some alleged violence in her prior history. What is really heart wrenching is that the employees from the Apple store next door heard the attack going on next door and did nothing, they could easily have saved Jayna's life
I don’t know man. Vigilantes get punished more than actual criminals

Brittany Norwood had played a victim for her entire life and was always rewarded for her victimhood. She honestly thought that she would not face any consequences for her role as a "victim". Would love to hear you address how the Apple employees failed to have the humanity to call for help. This is criminal as well and heartbreaking!
What do you expect from Apple store employees... unreal
Oftentimes, corporations have policies in place to minimize their own risk. Like, not confronting any shoplifters, they might say, unless the situation is in our store, do not do anything.
Ironically I listen to this as I am now going on my second second week of an unresolved issue with my phone and still have no hope of resolution with Apple.
I can't imagine hearing that and doing nothing. So sad. What's wrong with people?
@@Allergictocatstoo we heard the sound of a person being viciously assaulted for 15 minutes straight, luckily we managed to not give a shit.
I wish this crime was remembered more for the lack of humanity and bystanders not DOING ABSOLUTELY ANYTHING, rather than the talk about leggings and yoga which had zero to do with the crime.
Yeah, but it was an Apple store. Once you purchase their product and they have your cash, they cease to care.
They didn’t know what they were hearing.
@@willnill7946 They knew they were hearing dragging noises, someone asking repeatedly "why are you doing this"/etc, and noises of distress.

I believe that is what most people take away from this crime, at least people who care about the victims. There are always going be people who consume True crime strictly for s**ts and giggles. I find that management in general are some of the most dull people you'll meet.
Peter principle!
Actually, retail managers that I have known are some of the hardest working people I've ever met. Nothing but mad respect for doing what os often a thankless job
@@kam0406 They are hard workers. My brother did work like that for 25 years. Store managers earn the position alright. Like he did. That's no reason to be dullards though. My brother would have called the police. Actually, he would have a problem staying with a company like that. What's more, he started using the word "psychopath" long before it became so popular. He used it only 2 or 3 times over the years, and only for one of his coworkers. I doubted him at first, but he made a convincing case. They were all suspicious of that one, but never caught them stealing. They had two-way mirrors too, and never caught them. Others were caught stealing, but not that one.
Perhaps off point, he also told me, shoplifting always spikes real high during school vacation during the summer.
True. I worked retail for many years . The level of incompetence is ridiculous
The ONLY Type of business that Really Cares about its employees and customers is a single owner proprietorship, a small business where you are or can be in touch with the owner. Corporations in general Do NOT Care about their employees and customers, just the "bottom line". In turn, most employees of corporation chains are so detached from the business owners that they spend their shift as "clock watchers" just waiting to go home. Although Propaganda BS on our TV's extols the virtues of large corporations, they are in truth very impersonal from top to bottom because they lack the personal contact and concern you find in small businesses with a local owner. The cost of "Progress" is that it has made us all cogs in an impersonal and uncaring Machines called Corporations.

It always amazes me how these things can happen. Two girls from different states end up working at the same place for different reasons. Jayna wasn't even supposed to work that night. Lululemon has this ridiculous policy for the girls to check each other's bags. How horrible that Jayna paid with her life when she had done nothing wrong, but just by chance these two girls were brought together. This is so sad.
One being too concencious and the other not that much?
And the person who gave the phone nr instead of calling herself, it could have given an opportunity to see the problematic of the situation. Several management blunders in a row.

It's like that movie Magnolia. Through a series of events and bad timing thigs happen by coincidence.
One's narcissism is their greatest enemy without them realizing it.
💯
My daughter in law works at a Lululemon store I Chicago, she knows about this case and she says that after this episode, politics about closing the store at the end of the day, have been changed for better. Thanks, for your channel.
This is a terrible story, but very true that small crime success leads to larger crime confidence. Thank you for this superb presentation Dr. Grande!
I think this is a misunderstanding of how it works. The same narcissism (and psychopathy?) causes both the small and large crimes. So small crimes *can indicate* the potential for large crimes. This is a very different case from the vast majority of thieves who will never kill anyone. So in reality, small crimes almost always *do not* indicate the potential for massive violence. And there are plenty of cases of psychopaths who's first crime was murder.
It's lack of empathy that is the key here. People don't kill because they gradually escalate from smaller crimes up a scale, getting "used to it". They kill because they don't feel anything for other humans. I'd be much more worried about someone who, for example, laughed at footage from the holocaust, than someone who stole something. Even though there's no crime, there's an obvious lack of empathy which is a much better indicator.
You forgot the most important part of that quote. "In some cases". As a reformed member of the criminal justice system. I can assure you, I live a contributing life and work with the public and take great pride in that. No larger crime was ever committed.
@@aarondavis8943 Good points. Let us also not forget career criminals that are specialists at what they do and don't stray too far from their expertise because of how great they are at it. Straying from the path may also get them caught.
@@aarondavis8943 Yes, I know personally that people who commit certain offenses(some that should have been decriminalized a long long time ago considering) are not the ones to worry about. In fact the ones who harmed me the most were the ones people assumed were relatively decent people and they didn't have records. BUT they lacked empathy, highly manipulative, crossed boundaries, and lied often. It's only because they picked and chose which people to act that way towards that they escaped scrutiny.
You are correct. There are many, however, that don't start in obvious smaller crimes, but if you were to ask anybody on death Row or in prison for life if they ever stole things, were sex addicts/porn addicts before, were serial liars, and on top of this lacked empathy, I'll bet they all have at least one of these ugly personality characteristics, if not all of them.
Even the kids who commit mass murder have a shady background of lying, stealing little things, being generally sour and like life did them wrong, and even addicted to pornography.
These specific things just aren't publicly addressed because there are even more people with these issues who never commit larger crimes and live okay lives and have families and even stable relationships.
There is no way I would have returned to the store to help her. She would have had to wait till the next morning.
Every freaking store...even the small 10 employee mom & pop business I work at...should have cameras. Lululemon charges $80 for yoga pants, but didn't have cameras 🙄
Apple employees are used to ignoring everyone 🤣
At $80 per pair, how many pair could they possibly be selling every day? My guess is they were barely making payroll (along with all the other overhead involved) and who has money for cameras at that point?
@@elliebellie7816 Lululemon is a huge corporation and usually stores are located in areas where people's incomes allow for them to afford things like $80 yoga pants.
I’m sure the mall has cameras. They probably rely on those.
Exactly i am total shocked that they dont have Camera . In Europe lululemon Leggings Cost 100€ even 1€ Stores here has Camera its for the Workers Safety when something happend in the store example Robery or Something second if so they noticed uf some Workers Stole things or money from the Store..
Again we see why the devil is a narcissist- narcissism was on a business level and personal level in this case. Even the business next door. Even a non believer with an iota of sense can see the parallels for sure- police response times could be a factor too- nobody wishes to call the police for having to wait on a randomly places callback once your home from work it seems. Another topic entirely. Even psych tests wouldn't stop this as NARCS rarely seek help as they don't self reflect. Scary situation. The 'victim' mentality may be worth looking out for in employees of any nature...

I saw an interview once with a police detective talking about people not responding to yells for help. He said it’s better for anyone in any kind of situation where they need help to yell Fire, as people respond / react to that more often. Just maybe not apple store employees ?
I'm utterly fascinated at the commonality that is typically found in cases like this: where people suspect something is usual or not right, but no action is taken. Failure to act is why a lot of things like this happen. I often think about the number of lives saved and heartbreak that could've been avoided if someone had simply spoken up at the right time.
And it was all for nothing. Brittany tried to convince Jana not to tell management and thought if she were dead, she wouldn't get in trouble for stealing, but Jana had already told them before returning to the store.
That was stupid. There were plenty of jobs.
When I worked at Jo-Ann fabrics and crafts they had a policy where they check your bags before you leave, but it was always just the manager who would check your bag, not a coworker. I forgot about that.
I was told that they do pat downs at Ulta, by a friend's daughter who worked there. Even your lip balm has to be checked to make sure it's yours. A bit excessive but people do steal, so 💁♀️
A needless tragedy. Two lives ruined, one dead and the other in prison for the rest of her life. The managers policy of theft prevention was idiotic.
The people who made the policy: What?? The item was returned. The policy works just as intended!
Goddamn snitch though smh
I obviously wish none of this had happened to her (I mean she wasn't even the employer, she was a fellow worker), but come on, don't fucking snitch. Hopefully they’ve changed that ridiculous, not to mention dangerous, policy
Fire a women like her and you'll be sued into oblivion.
I think it depends on the state, but yeah where I live you can fire someone for literally no reason. However, if there is no good reason then they will get unemployment and your insurance will go up. Large companies probably want to avoid this.
Other sources allege that Brittany had been accusing everyone of racism. While it's not impossible to fire an employee who's accusing your staff of that, it's certainly less of a legal headache if you get proof of them stealing. Of course, no retail store should have employees playing detective and confronting each other. I'm sure if Jayna's family brought a tort claim against Lululemon, their insurer would settle

My guess because the promise to return them and conduct a bag search again. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
It kind of reminds me of people involved in acrimonious divorces who agree to meet their soon-to-be exes in dark remote locations late at night only to end up dead.
i mean, it doesn't seem that unbelievable to think that many employees or assistant managers would do this if their employees or coworker said that they forgot their wallet in the locked store. i do understand your point, although i don't know if i would have thought "i shouldn't go unlock the door for this coworker cause she's probably gonna kill me" ... either way, it's not a good policy for a store to have.
Maybe she believed brittany have regretted and was going to return the pants
Why not, its not like getting murdered for such a minor thing crosses your mind at that point, unless you are constantly thinking about getting murdered everywhere you go or meet someone?
From a risk management standpoint having employees checking one another for theft is so inappropriate, so completely out of line with nationwide loss prevention standards that I cannot imagine Lululemon surviving a civil case brought by the family of the victim. Just a terrible policy thought up and implemented by someone clearly suffering from a head injury. They deserve to lose millions for this stupidity which sparked this eventual murder. Very sad
The word "sparked" doing a lot of interesting work there.
I also wonder if they did a proper background check and drug test on Brittany. I don't know that her behavior could have been predicted in this case and she may have been equally provoked to violence in a different context.
"Brittany had a habit of taking property from her own siblings. Doc, you were right on point."
😧😬
It baffles me to this day that no one bothered to call 911.
First time I am hearing about this case. Brittany is a monster! When I worked at Victoria’s Secret years ago, one of the managers would search my purse as I was leaving the store at the end of my shift. They did that to all of the staff at my store. I don’t know if we had security cameras because if we did, there would be no need for that.
ive had friends who worked at many retail stores where this was a policy. i think one of the main issues with the Lululemon policy is that it involves coworkers checking eachother's bags, when it should probably strictly be managers only who check an employees bag (although I really dislike the whole policy either way because it just harbors a feeling of constant distrust). there's so many reasons that coworkers checking eachothers bags just isn't sensible. like Dr. Grande said, if one coworker accuses another of theft, they can simply turn around and say they're lying and stealing themselves (and shifting the blame upon being caught). also if the two coworkers were good friends after working together for a long time, they may just allow eachother to steal on shifts where they are the only two closing. it just makes for an awkward situation anyway, when the coworkers have equal positions of power at the store, I don't see why they should be going thru eachother's bags.
So the manager needs to sit down and watch 8 hours of camera, maybe multiple, to make sure employees don’t shoplift rather than checking your bag.
There used to be an upscale store called Gayfers in the Southern U.S. and all the female employees had to use clear-plastic store supplied purses when working to help prevent theft.
@@elliebellie7816 unfortunately those upscale boutiques see a lot of employee theft, and theft hurts them more than a dollar store
I often wanted to be a panties inspector
The theft prevention policy was created by an idiot. The manager should have been at every closing and shift change to inspect the bags not a peer. This would be a good case for a lawyer to argue.
And yes, the manager might be dead....
A lot of places do that (I used to work at Hollister in College) but I agree, so stupid.
Or cameras?!
Or just get cameras. When you notice merchandise missing, check the cameras.
wonder if it was the same manager that walked away when he heard crying when he found the crime scene?
Thank you Dr. Grande for researching this murder and giving the background to a murder that at first just seemed a woman simply 'snapped'. I could see by your analysis that there were signs this person had sinister potential.
In every single retail job I’ve had, it’s always been the whole ‘check each other’s bag’ thing to prevent theft but I’ve always also thought that it’s stupid and anyone can accuse each other of such theft as you said 🙄
I would feel so stupid saying to my coworker "oh hey Jenny I gotta check your bag before you go" I would just never do it.. It just sounds nuts. Even if you saw something what you gonna do? Citizens arrest? Lol I never knew there's employers who do this!
I'd say they want to get you against each other at all costs so you'll never unionize
In the future it be like going through airport security just to leave your workplace!
My favorite part is you taking a nonchalant shot at Apple and their store employees. I felt bad laughing after such a disturbing and tragic story but I do appreciate the comic relief. I get too affected, I don't even know why I watch anything that has anything to do with tragedy. My inner martyr makes me do it.
Yeah, me too. I fly a lot and watch plane crash shows. I don't know why, but somehow it helps me to understand why they happen. I also feel bad about laughing during such a tragic story, but it was both disturbing and laughable that they "called a security guard" while hearing a pretty obvious murder. What?
Maybe same as the police in Uvalde?
@@kenmore01 I think it helps even more if you start telling the person beside you on the plane all about these plane crash episodes. Hahahah I'm just kidding don't do that.

At the sound of dragging apparently it was too late ....I mean what the f***. Love your videos! This case has fascinated me since I first heard of it. I think there might be a mix up at 3:15, though. Jana found the stolen pants in Brittany's bag, not Brittany finding them in Jana's, as the video says, leading to Brittany's attack on Jana.

You are so intelligent and amazing Dr. Todd Grande! When you said " The last item I want to talk about in this case was the indifference of the Apple store employees. These employees heard all these sounds associated with a crime coming from the lululemon store including screaming, high pitched squealing, and a victim crying out for help. Yet. they decided that what was happening in the lululemon store was just some drama. In a way their behavior does make sense , considering that they were Apple store employees and had acquired a lot of experience ignoring people who were saying something was clearly amiss. I could picture them using this as a defense when someone complain about Apple products. They might say, "Look we don't even pay attention when someone is being murdered. What makes you think we care if your iPad screen keeps freezing?" Using your intelligence , and your great sense of humor, you got your point across in a way that everyone can agree with you, while shaming those who did nothing to help a woman they could hear being murdered right next door! Sick story, watch out for people like Brittany Norwood! Thank you for your analysis of a very disturbing and awful murder of a beautiful young woman and the mean POS who killed her!
It boggles my mind that people think they can get away with murder....maybe because they do is the reason they commit murder!? Excellent analysis, Dr. Grande! ❤️
Sometimes you just shake your head and say, 'wow.' and hope it's never you.
I'm glad that someone is finally speaking out about the dangers of wearing yoga pants. For far too long people have been silent about this important issue.
No one tells a story better than Dr Grande! The crime itself was horrifying, but the management's position on having employees catch each other in theft, and the Apple employees refusing to care at all about the obviously brutal crime taking place next door, just mystifies me! So much callous disregard for people! Another insightful case study with the leavening of wit to make it bearable! Thank you!❤
I REALLY enjoyed your analysis of the Apple store staff. I found it shocking that they could hear and ignore those sounds without investigation - your comments are spot-on. 👍🏻
In retail, whether it’s a small locally owned store or a national chain theres no way employees would be allowed to enter a store after hours unless a manager or owner was with them. The entire idea of employees checking each other’s purses or bags and confronting each other for theft is outrageous in terms of the legal implications, the insurance liability and overall safety of the staff. I’m not totally surprised tho because in my personal dealings with Lululemon I’ve found them to be incredibly unprofessional.
My thoughts exactly
A lot of athletic clothing outlets have employees who either just joined the work force, lazy management. Usually both. This is especially true at Nike outlets....yikes!
I didn't think about this until I read you comment, but I work in retail and yeah, as a low level employee you're NEVER meant to confront another employee (or customer) over theft. You are to get manage or AP involved straight away.
So you like hideous clothes? Lol
Lululemon is a horrible company, and horribly run. Absolutely unprofessional.
I am appalled that the staff at the Apple store as well as the security guard failed to call the police. And Lululemon’s policy requiring coworkers to go through each other’s belongings at the end of their shifts to police and report internal thefts isn’t a good idea. Peers policing each other can result in friends covering up for each other, someone falsely accusing a coworker they don’t like, and an honest person turning in a dishonest one resulting in a violent act of revenge like what happened here. Hire a security guard or let a manager in authority do that job.
I worked at Victoria’s Secret when I was 18 (15 years ago) this was the technique they would have us use too and boy did it create DRAMA! After each shift we were supposed to “search” each other’s purses to make sure no one stole any merchandise from the store. One girl put items in another girls bag to get her fired. One girl lied and said she seen stolen clothes in the bag of a girl she didn’t like and later admitted to everyone that she did that. It was a whole mess and baffled me as to why the managers or corporate or whoever made that rule thought it was a good idea. I have no clue if they still do that but even as an 18 year old kid, I knew that was just asking for problems especially working in an environment with young mean girls who often have conflict, they could of definitely used this as an opportunity to get one fired or cause a lot of problems and trust me, they did!
They should’ve hired people that were more mature in attitude. It has nothing to do with a bunch of women working together but the quality of the women they hire.
This was a big upset to the town of Bethesda! The whole incident was so creepy! You have filled in some of the gaps in the case that weren't available when the story broke!
In arguing that the prolonged brutality of the killing and the seemingly remorseless coverup attempt made life without parole a fitting punishment for Norwood, State’s Attorney John McCarthy summoned eight of Murray’s relatives and friends to a lectern, where each sadly addressed the judge.
“Of the many stages of grief, I have not moved away from rage,” her father, David Murray, told judge Greenberg. He recalled leading soldiers in combat as an Army officer and seeing changes in their psyches as they grew accustomed to fighting. “Once bloodied, the second time is easier and probably more likely,” he said of killing. And that would be true of Norwood, he said, if she were someday let out of prison.
You've plagiarized this from a newspaper.

Another good one regarding Apple! That is just so like them! Is that part of their training? To ignore the real needs of the end-user, and ultimately, human beings themselves? Perhaps they were hyper focusing on the undeserving the customer who was next in-line.
Your Apple employee dissing at the end - loved it!
It was a mistake for management to set their employees against each other to find the evidence that they should have gotten themselves.
The fact that employees next door heard all that noise but did NOTHING! They have to live with that. R.I.P. Jayna, and peace to her loved ones ❤️🙏🏾
Interestingly, Yoga Pants of Death was the melodic death metal band I belonged to in the late 1990s.
Melodic! Nice!
@@bthomson my wife came home wearing them in the nineties. I called them "Tatoo Pants"............but she's Asian, so anything on her looks good.
I would love to listen to you break down the investigation into the death of Lauren Agee. I know the case is a popular one amongst the true crime UA-cam community but nobody has your secret ingredient. In any case I’m looking forward to any upcoming videos you’ve got for us.keep up the great work.

Good call!
Hi BH - You are back! So vey glad!🤓💐
This happened where I grew up. Still haunting and tragic on so many levels.
Addressing the lack of actions from the Apple store employees should remind anyone that you are your own rescuer
Damn, you’re EVIL!!!
Dr. Grande, the details about this poor woman's death and all the things she said as she was moaning and begging for help as she died really disturbed me! I have been upset for days!
Good God! I never knew Jana had So Many injuries!!
I think there was built up rage in this?😠
@@bthomson I think so, too!!
Maybe rage is an element in many of these overly horrendous crimes?
Searching employees for potential stolen merchandise after a long hard day working in retail -- that's how you boost morale and commitment.
@Roz Alman either you're being sarcastic or you never worked retail. How about being on your feet for eight to ten hours, picking up trashed out dressing rooms, never getting your breaks, rehanging clothes, dealing with shoplifters, balancing registers, restocking shelves, unboxing merchandise, tagging inventory, answering phones when there's a line of people just like you, and on and on and on.
People shouldn't steal.
You know it's wrong, right?
The Apple store staff behavior analysis is so hilarious!! 🤣🤣🤣
" Dangers of yoga pants" gave me a little chuckle .😄
I live in DC and still remember this case. I actually stopped shopping in that strore when I learned that Brittney was stealing at Georgetown location and they transferred her to Bethesda. Bethesda was less upscale so I guess they thought it's ok to have this kind of person working there.
Management who made that decision should have had to explain themselves.
I live in the DC area. I believe that they would put her in Bethesda for that reason. It's so classist here.
I've worked in retail B 4
Wait a minute. She was working in G-Town. Got accused of theft there. So, the company TRANSFERS her to the less affluent store. WHY, why? That makes no sense. Usually if you get nailed 4 theft stores give you the boot. They don't allow you a lateral move. What the heck?
@@manuellubian5709 As I said above, lived in the DC metro area since college, which was 20 years ago. It's a class-based society. Why not send a thief to Bethesda? It's only Bethesda, in the eyes of G-town management. Now, I happen to perceive Bethesda as an affluent, gorgeous area with a lovely shopping area. (Probably an awesome night life, but I am married so none of that for me. Although I do remember being 22 and a date paying $50 for my martini at Bethesda bar. So.)
Unfortunately Maryland has a lot of people like her. I live in Cecil County near the Delaware border and there's SO MANY thugs migrating away from Baltimore. It used to be a nice country type area 10-15 years ago but slowly over time it became a drug infested area with trashy people. We used to make fun of people who thought they were tough bc nobody would actually do much of nothing but now there's gangs and shootings and nonstop overdoses and thefts. It's awful...
if ever there was a qualifying tale worthy of the plight of the african and african history month in usa this is it! Bravo doctor!
LOL…”Two crimes were committed, stealing, and charging $80.00 for yoga pants.”
You crack me up Dr. Grande!
I remember this case. So sad, love your title and analysis. Thanks Dr G😊💚💚
This happened near my town, and I frequently shopped at this store (it’s still there, as is Apple). Took me a long time to be able to walk back in…it really shook the Bethesda/Rockville area.
The way Dr Grande moves his eyes from side to side 10 seconds in as he's 'speculating what could be happening' . . . . comedic gold.
,
I like the little jokes that you throw in, and the deadpan delivery. They're all funny, but only because they're true. Take care.
Did anyone notice how Dr. Grande said “yoga” like he was saying dog turds? Best laugh of the day, thanks Dr. G.
Poor Jayna, she was doing all the right things to advance her career while aiming at a better future, only to be brutally murdered by a coworker. It’s just a frightening world out there. We may never know what are people’s intentions and motivations. As for Brittany, she could also work for the betterment of herself, but her self-centered attitude took the best of her and ended up destroying her life. What a sad case.
Very insightful analysis Dr. Grande, thank you.❤️
On a side note- this shirt is glorious.💖
Rejane - Hope your summer is going well? This case was hard to hear. One feels that at some point the outcome could have been so different!
@@bthomson Hi dear, my summer is going well, thanks for asking!😊
I know, what a horrible and senseless death, but most importantly so unexpected. Who would imagine that Brittany was capable of such a heinous crime?
I should be embarrassed, I laughed out loud during this! Your sarcasm is legendary!! I love your videos!!
Main reason I like Dr Grande, is because of his sarcasm.
I don't understand how anyone could feel comfortable with meeting with someone after hours, at night, and alone that they just accused of a theft. Alarm bells would be going off for me if someone asked to meet with me in these circumstances. Very sad ending that was preventable...never meet someone alone, especially after hours, especially if there is any reason for them to want to harm you. Take care of yourselves everyone.
This story is tragic and I appreciate the concise analysis. Thanks for being a beacon of care who always highlights the importance of looking after each other. Had the Apple employees had some empathy they would have called 911 or at least intervened. Alas, in a society like ours the “me” effect appears to be the most prevalent one. Thanks again for presenting these matters to all of us.
I heard about this story from another channel and was so shocked by the twist of this story! It's insane!
Dr.Grande shade on expensive yoga pants and Apple stores is hilarious 😅
These people who continually play the victim are so dangerous to society.
You forgot to mention that Brittany accused everyone of "racism" every step of her life prior to this particular incident.
And.........

The savage Apple takedown starting at 13:10 was by far the best part of this video. This is easily one of the funniest things Grande has ever said. Amazing.
At Hot Topic, Ulta, and Sephora we were required to check each other’s bags as well. Sometimes I would have to wait an extra 10-15 minutes after my shift time just for a manager to become available to check my bags in front of the cameras. At Sephora they required we got a small letter carved into our personal items to show we brought them with us and didn’t steal them. I understand the policies were there as a deterrent and it became a normal habit but always rubbed me the wrong way and I hated waiting after my shift just to be checked.
I dont think i would have went inside the store after a confrontation late at night I would have let her inside and stayed away, IDK hind sight is 20/20 but I think my spidey sense would have kicked in. It is important to remember your own safety over a job
"Spidey sense"
🙄🙄🙄
Love your jokes and how you can verbalize them with a straight face! Love the shirt again❤
I remember Dr. Grande from the days when he started out of what I assume to be his office at the time. I learned about personality traits and other things that really open the world to me. I am glad to see that his channel has grown and developed well. Well deserved.
As I can understand, that some ppl feel this kind of rage against another human being, never could nor should rage be bigger than the will to not physically harm (murder) someone.
I can not believe that that no one called the police…
I already know from the title this is going to be good!
Not even waiting to “like”!
(I never do anyway)!
You shine!
"Two crimes were committed - the theft of merchandise, and charging $80 for yoga pants." I did not see that coming 😂also wth Apple Store staff
I’ve been hoping to see Grande’s analysis of this. I’m so interested. Thank you, Grande.
Let’s not leave out the “steel bracket.”
Sometimes screaming doesn’t help. But posthumously, you’ve told her story and it’s excellent. Thank you!
Yes the attack was brutal!
