@@edgar.em1168 same lmao I wasn't looking for it but clicked immediately and then got disappointed and watched other people react to the actual acoustic version
Originally, the song was written about an unrequited love with a friendship he had. He felt that by confessing his love to her, that he pushed her away and at that point she wasn't even willing to fight for their friendship anymore. The official music video takes a mini-movie route, directed by Shawn "Clown" Crahan (lead percussion), with cameo appearances by Malcolm McDowell and Ashley Laurence. The full story goes that Paul (bassist) overheard Corey (vocals) working on this song after the breakup and Corey was reluctant to bring it to the band because of the subject matter and pacing, but Paul convinced him to keep working on it. Then one day after practice Paul "Pig" Gray, Jim "Jester" Root (lead guitar) and Joey "Kabuki" Jordison (drums) surprised him with some preliminary instrumentals to go along with it and it became a collaborative effort unlike the band had ever known before, which is why it doesn't really follow any real song structure. It got recorded and added to the album "All Hope is Gone" and became an instant fan-favorite. Then shortly after Paul died of a drug overdose and sometime after that Joey died due to complications with transverse myelitis which he had since a child. So the song is usually played as a dedication to Paul now but it was also the last song recorded with Joey because he left the band shortly after due to a legal dispute. There is a lot of heavy history tied to this song and I can relate and add to it for my own personal experience because it become my only friend after a breakup from a 23 year relationship with a person who had been my best friend for 32 years... eight months ago. As toxic as she was, if she was willing to work on things with me.. yeah, I would take her back in a heartbeat. ♑❤🩹♋
I feel like there are 3 different versions of this song. The one you reacted to, the music video version, and the live version. To me, they all tell a different story and different emotions with the live being the most emotional.
Great reaction Tom, i am thinking the live version would have been better. Glad you got to hear one of the softer slipknot songs. Cant wait for whats coming next! Cheers to you and yours! Side note: just my opinion but the sponsor should be after your introduction. Not in the middle of a song. But thats just my 2 cents. Thank You All! -James
So the title snuff refers to the act of snuffing or a light or a candle. And this song is about Corey Taylor's ex. He was going through some bad stuff and she refused to fight it with him and she walked. But it was the last song recorded with their late drummer Joey, so every time he plays it, he's playing it for Joey
So, for a bit of context on what this song does for the fans now, I dont remember what this song was originally about. But in concert they now play this song and "Til We Die" in memory of their late band member Paul Grey, who passed away.
It was about a former love but then it was turned into a song about Joey Jordison the original drummer who passed away. Edit: Got Joey and Paul mixed up I’m horrible with names
@@davidgessin-mccully3919 well you were kinda right, Snuff definetly makes Slipknot fans think about those members who passed away and Joey is one of them

I REALLY think you should take a listen to some more of Slipknot’s stuff! I realize that it may not be your style of music but the messages and stories behind some of their songs… like Medicine For The Dead, Dead Memories, Gently, Duality, Skeptic… I’ve been hoping for the LONGEST to see you do a reaction to one of their songs so the moment I saw this my heart leapt into my throat!! I really recommend you listen to more of their music!!

Do a reaction to any of the songs on the album "still searching" by senses fail. That album got me through a suicidel time in my life, but I think it also promotes it. Just thoughts. Let's see what you think.
Been awhile since ive listened to any reactors to snuff or any music really funny ive been able to hear this first note of the guitar since before the album hit of course it was my first tattoo right over my left chest done by a friend it can very much apply to you absolutely missed his heart and visuals in this

I don’t know how to talk about my feelings but these two men seem to be living in my head and it’s scary accurate.
Can't believe you didn't react to the live accoustic version. Now you can never experience it for the first time even if you listen to it now. Very bad move for the person who sent you this suggestion.
Oh please, I didnt meant it like that. 😅But the pain, the raw emotion of the live accoustic version it's unmateched. This song was writen about a girl and him being a metal vocalist it's always uncertain what people might thing if you release a song like this. His best friend Paul Gray, which was the bassist for Slpiknot enourage him to release the song and help him through the pain of this breakup. Nowadays when he sings the song he remembers his best friend and not his relationship, he always sing it for Paul and after all this years there wasn't a single performance where he woldn't break up in tears or very close to it. I hope one day you could react to "Corey Taylor - Snuff Accoustic", I really like to listen to you comment this type of songs and can still be a great experience nonetheless you already listen the studio version. Sorry for my bad english, not my first language@@ReactionTherapyOfficial

Snuff is also a term used by smokers... it means "putting out the fire"
Don’t forget about “snuff films”.
Snuff is literally to extinguish. No need to be in any clicke to understand that. Just grab a dictionary
