    Cool, thanks for doing this video and glad you are enjoying CURVEmachine.
    Some feedback:
    * you can repeat the last Blend on a new point by holding the ALT key while running the tool from the menu, check the tool tip
    * milti-point blends are coming, via a toggle
    * cap filling is coming, thanks for pointing it out
    * so is symmetrize and alignments
    * MESHmachine is so much more than just about bevels :)

      Haha. Oh I know Mesh Machine is so much more but it was a very quick simplification.
      Awesome on all counts and I was sure they would be as your so far ahead of the curve (pun intended) on these things it seemed natural things to include. And thanks for letting me know about the ALT key. I'll try that for sure and mention it in the next video.
      Again, awesome stuff!

      Just tried it and love it. Is there a way of making it so that you can also repeat last with ALT+CTRL+B (so its the same as the Blend shortcut but with the additional ALT?

      It would be great if Machin3tools's Align pie (Alt+A) works with curves too. It would compliment Curvemachin3 nicely.

    is a very great addon, i purchased all of Machin3 and are essential tools to have in blender with Hops and cablerator, these addons are "health" for you if you want to modelling faster and efficiently...

    What I recommend to do for the Blender team instead of playing around with the Geometry nodes - just take all best addons and make include them by default into the distributive.

    • @ArtisansofVaul
      @ArtisansofVaul  Рік тому +1

      Yeah I can understand this. At the same time I have found GeoNodes incredibly useful for doing things that just aren't possible without them and some of the things put out by people to generate things like buildings or scenes using them are amazing. So I can see why they are focusing on them too. And I guess it depends what someone wants from Blender. It would be nice to have some of the elements of the best add ons in Blender though for sure.

    I just bought this add-on based on the recommendation of this video and all I can say is _wow, this thing is great!_ . After watching this short tutorial, jumping right into it was a snap. I've never before enjoyed such precision and ease of use with curves. This add-on is brilliant. I often use curves to create the paths for the leads of models of electronic components. I also use curves to define the path of movement of objects for animation. While extruding the points and then beveling them works, it can be tedious to get it just the way I want it. It's also very difficult to go back later to change something that's already been beveled such as the number of segments in the curve and fixing a segment/arc tangency. CurveMachine cures all those issues and then some and it takes no time or effort at all. It's super intuitive. I really like it. I've got Cablerator too and I would say that it is a separate animal with other purposes in mind such as hanging cables, multi-cables, and connectors that can be scaled, slide along the curve, and other stuff. I will be using both add-ons in my projects.

    • @ArtisansofVaul
      @ArtisansofVaul  Рік тому

      I'm in total agreement. I forgot to discuss the animation path aspect but being able to sp easily manipulate normals and then the interpolate function is brilliant. Cool point on the wiring as well 👍🏻

      Glad you mentioned cablerator. While watching this tutorial the thought came to mind if I would need this add on. But you made some great points for uses for both, Thank you.

    Good vid as usual. Curvemachine looks like the little sister of machine tools. Also since this relies on poly curves, this can make stylized hair easier too. Yeah, instant buy from me. 😊

    how would you compare this and cablerator? do they compete with eachother, do they compliment eachother or are they completely seperate in functions etc?

    • @ArtisansofVaul
      @ArtisansofVaul  Рік тому +1

      Excellent question! This is exactly what I want to explore as I haven't had a chance to try yet. But with the control you have over the curves with curve machine (especially over the normal direction] I get the feeling that they are going to compliment each other REALLY well. But as I say I haven't tested that yet. But I will be for sure 😁👍🏻

    • @MACHIN3
      @MACHIN3 Рік тому +2

      There is essentially no overlap between the addons. They complement each other. CURVEmachine is much more foundational, modeling focused, whereas Cablerator seems to focus more on hanging cables, many cables, etc. Also while CURVEmachine focuses on POLY curves, Cableratore seems to work with (mostly?) BEZIER curves. That's what I'm getting from the trailer at least. Very different aims.

    • @ArtisansofVaul
      @ArtisansofVaul  Рік тому

      @@MACHIN3 Great summary. There are some nice other features of Cablerator I wanted to test and having had a quick look they all seem to work very well in combination with Curve Machine. The main ones being its array function and how you could manipulate it with using the standard twist and then Curve Array's interpolate feature. Ive also looked at how the cyclic works with it. Both seem to work fantastically which really adds a lot for both add ons.
      I'll be doing a video on these in the future as well as using Curve Machine with Geometry nodes as well. 😁

    How do I scale curve radius only two axis in Blender?

    • @ArtisansofVaul
      @ArtisansofVaul  Рік тому

      Sorry I'm not sure what you're asking exactly, but if it's how to scale on two axes but not the third its: Once you have started scaling (S) hold shift + the axis you don't want to scale on. For example shift+y would scale on the z and x axis

    • @crimso1313
      @crimso1313 Рік тому +1

      @@ArtisansofVaul when you edit curves, the radius command changes the curve along all axes, but I need the z axis not to change

    • @ArtisansofVaul
      @ArtisansofVaul  Рік тому

      @crimso1313 Hmm... I don't think you could do this particularly easily (admittedly I haven't tried as its never come up) but you wouldn't do it in the radius section as that looks at all axes equally. I imagine you'd scale it as described of its a flat curve. Otherwise you'd probably have to use Geometry nodes.
