@@mgardner70 not more than wanna be people who don't have a life and will come to the internet and start trying to get attention like some desperate girl with daddy issues by forcefully trying to be part of a conversation and stating their assumptions about others. i know we all have freedom of speech but if it's available to people like you we don't want it I wish it did'nt existed
When you ask to like and comment it just completely make sense. In 5min of your video I already learned so much about so many aspects : 3D / Camera / Light Thank you so much
as someone who does tutorials it's important to note that we are often following along step by step, so when you have a realization like the color code, you should go into the youtube editor and edit the video with a simple note on top of the video in the section before you began duplicating. you can also voiceover on top of the video and you wont lose any views.
If you want to quickly paste the expressions on all of the colors, you can hit cmd + f, type "color", then it will only show the fill color for all layers. Then you while folding cmd, you can select all of them and hit paste once
This is what makes Adobe “great”, every program, work’s somewhat “the same”. Happy you learned something 🤗 this works in Photoshop, illustrator, Indesign ect. As well
That's why I tell people "If you know how to use Photoshop, you can use After Effects" because it's literally just animated Photoshop (of course in some cases)
This is an amazing opportunity for me to learn something new on after effects. It was clear what to do and everything was free. I can't thank you enough man. 🔥
Such a tutorial, great job man! Aftereffects for me is still in its infancy when it comes to 3D, I do think it might be a better idea to learn Blender or the free version of C4D for basic tasks. That way, you will pick up a new tool and avoid the headache of having a mess of plugins and a 100 AE shape layer in your timeline.
Thank you! Glad you like it! Yes definitely there's still a great place for Blender and other 3D tools. Sometimes it is just handy to have a bit more features directly in After Effects for small 3D tasks.
This is wonderful work; thank you so much! I would love to see more of your process in how you created those expressions. Would you be willing to share for those who want to get more into creating custom expressions as well?
Thank you for your commnet. I really appreciate each comment! :) In terms of expressions, yes maybe we can make a tutorial on that, however expressions are such a vast subject, and I am certainly not the expert in them. In this specific example I use the Linear expression to interpolate between the distance of the effector from the specific object and convert it into a value for position, etc. I have a full explanation (line by line) on how the expression works on my website if you would like to have a look: neuronfx.com/advanced-3d-mograph-in-after-effects
Thank you for sharing this awesome tutorial on motion graphics effectors without using Cinema 4D. I really appreciate you providing the expressions for free.
Incredible! At the start I thought I would never be able to understand how those examples are made, after 10 minutes it all seemed very simple. Excellent! Thank you!
Wonderful setup. Thank you for sharing. It's great to reduce the expressions to optimize the calculations. With many layers and many expressions it becomes pretty significant. Such as in this case - the "var" in the beginning of each line is not necessary. While prompting expressions, I add a condition to adapt code for optimal AE use - and AE does not need to refer to "var" each time.
Hi, thank you for your comment I glad you loved it! :) For the purpose of this video and to keep it easy to understand and shortish I couldn't include the expression explanation. However, I have uploaded all the explanation on my website's blog. You can find a general explanation of the expression we are using and then I also included an explanation for each line of code to explain the reasoning behind it and what it does. Hope this is helpful! :) Feel free to have a look to learn more: neuronfx.com/advanced-3d-mograph-in-after-effects

However for the occasional 3D project, this technique can save a lot of time... less learning time, quic setup and so on.
