- I wanted to give a quick summary of just how many tools and functions there are in Machin3 Tools for Blender. It has recently stopped being free, which is a shame, but I still think it's probably the best value for money addon available for Blender. See if you agree.

The align pie is absolutely indispensable for me. Everyone should donate to the author.
Totally agree. It's a shame as if they did to begin with it would remain free for those that couldn't afford to pay. But it's still very cheap
Crazy useful.. this addon does so much that I always forget all that it does .. even the basic stuff.

This is one of my top 3 addons for blender, I can't imagine not having it. When I saw the new pricing I didn't hesitate to get it, and it is pretty cheap in comparison with other addons which are about 40$.
Totally right on all fronts I'd say. 👍🏻 It's a total bargain.
videos like this are so helpful. some add on packages for blender arnt the most intuitive and as a visual learner spending hours on a wiki isnt what i call helpful.

Thank you for doing this and explaining what most of us would likely use the most for each tool. I finally turn on the top 3. lol It's too bad align tool doesn't work when one of the objects has its rotation transform applied but I have 3 point align for that.

So many tools and I still don't fully understand this one, well, or many of them ha, but the align and mirror tools were such a time saver and worth getting it.
Agreed. Even without using many of the tools it's still so worth having.

Yeah it has a huge amount to it. That isn't even everything, just the bits I use.

I thought it would be handy as a summary. Felt a little bad not going through everything each function can do but that would take hours.
I'll probably upgrade to dues version just to support the devs. I love the addon.

That's understandable. You can always just change the keybinding to different numbers/keys

I had some hesitation initially but the tab+mouse swipe is faster.

Thank you for this useful tutorial. I just started modeling and a question has been occupying my mind, maybe it's funny, but does Blender have a good career future? If I get an answer, I can continue with much more energy. thank you
That's a difficult one. It's bee getting used more and more and a lot of the theory is applicable in other programs regardless. It also helps you learn a larger variety of skills like sculpting, nodes concepts and topography. But there are other softwares that are specialist and "standard" for some industries so it does depend a lot of what you're thinking of going into.

would be cool if the developer of machine tools could implement a perpendicular snap of the knife tool like in Maya. Some features are simply missing in Blender
Sorry, what do you mean by perpendicular snap?
in Maya one has the option to snap to an edge in a 90 degree angle when possible. In Blender it only works as long you are working with the axis x y z, but does not work in local space right? when you rotate a cube for example
@dubtube6691 Ah I see. Blender already allows you to snap to increments after each click to allow this. It's just related to your view so it can be any plane. It's covered in this video along with other tricks you might like: ua-cam.com/video/DhQOisnlMu0/v-deo.html
its really strange, because you can measure the angle with the knife tool lol just lock it at 90 degree, done, would be too easy :)
@@ArtisansofVaul ok ok, it works :) in your video you explained how to change the number of the angle snap increment. Pressing A twice it changes between absolute and relative ! and with D it shows a 90 degree snap, nice. works in Blender as well, not so obvious but the edge gets yellow in relative mode
