I went to the opening ceremony of The Sphere. I “Edged” Bono and his voice in my core memory. Not a single video I took, I was mesmerized. 25 years, I have been listening to Bono, But that day is my best day ever. It was a beautiful day. ❤

I love going back to these performances when this song was still fresh for the Band. I know it can get tiring playing your hits, but there is something pure when a tune is fresh to the artist still. I love it.
Was only three when this concert took place. My stepdad was there. He passed away in 2019 but always talked how this was the best concert he had ever been to.
This was U2 at the top of their game. They were firing on all cylinders on this tour. After all the excess and theatrics of the 90s tours, they brought it back to basics with the Elevation and Vertigo tours. And Bono's dad had died not long before this show so you can tell he was working some things out on this performance. They just gave it. Only band recently that came close to this was Stars when they played the Phoenix in Toronto after 18 months of sitting in park because of the pandemic. Torq and Amy gave it. Reminded me of this.
