BMW e39 Engine Control Module Replaced , eeprom memory chip swap

- Hello everyone !!
In this video you can come with me and repair a BMW e39 525d m57 , it has an internal problem in the engine control unit ,the problem is that the electric fan does not work and because of it the air conditioning does not work properly, but whatever problem I have I can solve it, first the defect must be confirmed , and finally repaired !
At the end of the work my video microscope burst into flames , and we'll try to fix that together, in next video !

Very nice. I like how you verified circuit integrity and found the open on the board. You make it look easy to swap chips. I’m not comfortable with that so I normally just read dump from 5p08 with an eeprom clip, then write it to replacement. You inspire me!

Hello, I have a BMW e39 520d. The motor controller does not communicate on the canbus and the engine would not start. Starter motor turns and dde relay turns on. I bought a new engine controller board, but I don't know which one is the memory chip to swap. Do you think you can help me to tell which one is it? I am electronics engineer so the swap is not a problem.

did you reuse he old computer ? if the old one isnt repairable does it have to be reprogrammed ?

I didn't use the old one anymore. I gave it back to the owner but it's not good, it has a physical defect not on the software, and it's not worth repairing because it's easy to find at the dismantling parks

If I swap ecu for new ecu without ews do I need to do anything else? Or is plug and play? Thank you if anyone knows
If you have an ecu with immo off , you first need to disconnect EWS and do a modification to wiring for starter
