@@eternalyt5175 ye I've been told before, and I did say 'pretty sure' so I wasn't certain And all other new things this year and last year where shows so I just thought that
The Ten Rings' lore is actually related to dragons. They are said to be rings worn by fallen warriors of a dragon race called Makluans. Mandarin got hold of the rings from a crashed Makluan spaceship, where they were being used to power the spaceship. The Makluans are attributed to be the reason behind old England and Chinese legends about dragons. In the comics, if Mandarin uses the rings for extended periods of time, his arm becomes scaly and dragon-like.
SPOILER ALERT!!!!! MatPat predicted the plot very well but was just a little off with the names. The BIG bad was indeed a giant dragon-like creature although it was never confirmed in the movie where the rings originated. The first end credit scene hints at this but just says that they act like a beacon soooo there’s still a chance MatPat is right about Fin Fang Foom.
I wonder if this movie will have an Iron Fist easter egg or post-credits scene where the sequel will be called, "Shang-Chi Vs. Iron Fist" or something.
A lot of theories out there have it that there will be an Enter The Dragon style tournament in this movie, and that there's real potential that you'll either hear the names Danny or Iron Fist as a competitor.

@@jordanharper3333 I am not a comic fanatic but in my general knowledge I think he's more of an Ironman villain. But since Ironman is dead now, they are adapting it to Shang-Chi, which isn't bad at all since it's all related to the Ten Rings.
Personally, I love the iron rings as weapons trope. It's one of the coolest tropes in kung fu cinema, but no TCMA person would *really* opt to use those over an actual weapon. They're training tools like a fast bag, jump rope, or nigiri game. Imagine Rocky using his jump rope or free weights as literal weapons to fight the Soviets. It'd be incredible, if a little silly, and that makes for good entertainment.
Fu Manchu is the archetypal supervillain. He's influenced pop culture to the point where eredicating him won't change anything. Every supervillain you can think of probably wouldn't exits without him.
Action intensive scenes are like special effects, they cost a lot of resources to do well, that's why action and special effect heavy stuff are rarely done well on TV.

I'm totally expecting them to just call Fin Fang Foom something like, "the Foom"
Or just "Makluan."
Triple F
@The LeaprachaunFinna call The Foom from the Fang Gang
They would wouldn't they
I can't possibly be the only one so nerdy, in the subjects of today's episode, that I already knew everything in this episode before watching it

And all other new things this year and last year where shows so I just thought that
Serves as an excuse for why matpat gets things wrong
This is probably the closest theory that Matpat has ever gotten on a Marvel film
That intro was something else lol

@Holl ywood f 🥺💗💞💞💖💕💗💞 /j
I think it is
I liked Iron Fist, is that an unpopular opinion?
@Holl ywood I love F too 😭😭😭
Looks like Matpat hasnt been watching New Rockstars, i was expecting a theory on “How does Shang chi fit into the final battle in Ant Man Quantumania”
Or they are working together to get this theory stuck in our heads
Or maybe they been having this theory working since the start and yak decided to not completely scrap it
In the comics the Ten Rings powered the ship that Fin Fang Foom used to come to Earth so it makes sense that they would be dragon-alien sized.
It doesn't. In the comics they were size- changing, hence why the Mandarin could wear them.
As a Chinese I can agree
No I cant
If we're gonna have Fin Fang Foom and Monica Rambeau in-universe now, I can only hope we get Nextwave someday.
she : who are you?
Shang-Chi :
i dont know how to pronounce my name but i can pose for you
The rings are big because they were meant for a hands of a literal dragon god. That’s so cool.

You should definitely do a collaboration with New Rockstars for one of their Rouge Theory episodes. I think it would be a good one for everyone.

The rings the mandarin wears have occasionally been called the makluan rings. As in the race that fin fang foom is a part of.
Wow
You always know its about to get good when MatPat says "hear me out".
"A mandatory sky beam to mark the spot".
That pretty much sums up most of the giant creature movies.
I appreciate that the dragon was attacking Toronto
Hello fellow canadian
I wonder if this movie will have an Iron Fist easter egg or post-credits scene where the sequel will be called, "Shang-Chi Vs. Iron Fist" or something.
A lot of theories out there have it that there will be an Enter The Dragon style tournament in this movie, and that there's real potential that you'll either hear the names Danny or Iron Fist as a competitor.
@@Niop_Tres They could re-introduce Iron Fist into the MCU that isn't connected to the Netflix version. That's what I was referring to, sorry if it wasn't clear.
Shang Chi would easily beat him since he fights like a 5 year old

"Ten"? Try FORTY.
@@Valandar2 It IS over ten years. So I mean, he's not wrong. Then, I guess the universe came into being over ten years ago too, so it's a super accurate, inaccurate fact. I guess.
@Martin Toledo True, I never knew about this guy and never cared, but Marvel decided that they’re gonna do this guy and of course he’s gonna gain popularity.
@Martin Toledo Also, Fu Man Chu doesn’t need Shang Chi to be known, he’s bloody famous long before this comic, and will be long after. (At least in China, we know and hate this guy because he’s such an embodiment of discrimination.)

Wasn't he a spidey villian for a second? I could be wrong since I don't have an encyclopedic knowledge of the marvel franchise
Matpat you where wrong but right about the dragon so good job

Fu Manchu is the archetypal supervillain. He's influenced pop culture to the point where eredicating him won't change anything. Every supervillain you can think of probably wouldn't exits without him.
Action intensive scenes are like special effects, they cost a lot of resources to do well, that's why action and special effect heavy stuff are rarely done well on TV.

Plus in his behind the scenes video, he said that it takes weeks to make, animate and record a theory and by that time the video could already have been outdated or disproven you if you had watched that video you should already have known that it takes time to make a video.
Even if mat pat doesn't know anything about marvel he researches with his team to make a believable there at least for his audience and "exploiting clicks" doesn't do anything nowadays on youtube its watch time that matters and audience reactions such as likes, dislikes, comments you would know that if you knew anything about the economic of youtube you inbreed transformer with no social skills.
Funny when Matt is wrong but also right at the same time lol
