Thanks BonBonB for showing this Mod. I got it and tried and could not figure ou what I was doing wrong. After watching your videos I saw what I was doing wrong. Thanks and have a great day.
Is the river nodeless once built? Couldn't you use MoveIt or Network Multitool to slope the river instead of the ramp tool? Frankly, I find the "Terrain River Tool" to best thing ever for building rivers. It does all the carving and sloping by itself. You can adjust the river width at each node to create variations like real rivers. It is a bit fiddly to work with, but it creates perfect rivers far more quickly than any other method I've used.
I've got 1,300 hours into CS and tried using this mod in several maps. In each one, I ended up ripping it out and carving out my own rivers. The big problem is the green stripe on either side of the river, which makes it look fake. The mod does make it easy to lay down the rivers, but the look just isn't there.
Hy! When I download this asset, I get the error message in the LS that all objects are missing when I load it in the Asset Editor and save it again (under a different name) and then reload the game (original asset deleted), no error message and I can use them in the game! What's going on? Only I have the problem ??
It's a shame that it doesn't show up outside of purchased tiles and in the editor. It took me ages in the editor to realise the water was there but not showing. You can't really use it to design a map because it vanishes outside the unlocked area.
I'm not a map maker. So, my opionion and $5 might get you a Starbucks Caramel Macchiato. But, here it is anyway. These could be useful, but will require a lot of practice and patience. They look more like man-made canals, with the banks all perfectly lined out. They will be great for the types of canals you see in cities like Cape Coral, Florida,,, Stockholm, Sweden,,, Amsterdam, Netherlands,,, Birmingham, England,,, or... Venice maybe? But, I'm sure the really talented artist around here will make these look like beautiful, naturally formed rivers. Sad to say, I'm not that talented lol
I can't disagree. Not with the last bit, I couldn't possibly say. But yes, the edges are very clean. I can see a number of uses for these networks, but I think most top map makers will prefer working with the actual terrain. All that said, its always good to have another weapon in the arsenal, and MacW has given us something remarkable :-)
Interesting. I do actually say that "I had some trouble transitioning the network into the source", which I don't show on camera because it was a total mess, and wouldn't help anyone who is trying to understand the mod. If you actually compare the screen at 2:40 with that at 3:03 you'll see there's very little difference if any, and what minor differences there are would be from minor terrain tweaking.
@@BonBonB I understand, however, I think a short timelapse would have been ok. Anyway, there's a new mod for rivers you could review - TerrainRiverTool.
I never really knew what to do with a network, but now i do. thank you - i think, I hope we'll see maps with these rivers soon. They look fantastic.

Good heavens! This is a nifty development.
This most definetly helped me thank you.
Another excellent tutorial. Interesting new mod.
I was today years old, when I learned that you can make water sources smaller than 0.01
Check out his realistic rivers tutorial 👍🏻😃
Is that a river mod? What a crazy show this has become.
Great stuff! Not a fan of the transition bit but we all know people are going to make this look like sexy-stuff

wow, impressive mod, thank you for this tutorial
Good tutorial. Thank You.
Good tuto BBb
Thanks B :)
It doesn't work so well in the map editor...I found that out the hard way 🤷♂️
I did notice that the demo was in-game.

Have you tried the Common Ground mod? I'd think this would resolve this
@@BonBonB doh! That’s a great idea. Thanks. 🤦🏼♂️😀
1:50 Can you send me the mod for putting water?

At 3:03 the video jumps from the view of a river in a slope to a river without a slope. Where did the slope go? Why would you cheat in a tutorial?
