Diary of the Madman is the best of Ozzy. Randy Rhodes whom was the best guitarist ever played this song. Sadly Randy Rhodes died in an airplane crash!
The very last studio album that Ozzy did with Randy Rhoads on guitar. It is such a shame that Randy tragically was killed in a plane crash in March of 1982 while touring this album. Truly one of a kind as far as musicians go, and I wish he would have lived and gone on to do so much more.
@@briangumphrey7603 You know God is rocking out on Randy's Music now! LOL
Little Dolls. Next
@@gossman75 lol yup that is the truth indeed my friend
Randy was having a time trying to come up with a solo for this one , he stayed behind at the studio and came out smiling. Nailed it. Always Epic. Master Rhoads. Still inspires today.
saint rhoads that is
I think this song features Randy's best work. It's such a weird song musically, and so damned good! My all time fav Ozzy song and the message is clear.
Ozzy's bass player Bob Daisley wrote this song. Said Daisley: "I really wrote that one about myself. When I was 16 I had my first nervous breakdown and it really f---ed me up. I was a sensitive kid and I have always been a sensitive person. I suppose you have to be sensitive being in the arts. I wrote the words about myself. Quite often we have problems and we are our own worst enemies and that is why 'Enemies fill up the pages one by one in the diary. Are they me?' I am my own worst enemy.
The other thing was that Randy [Rhoads] had the rough idea for the song 'Diary of a Madman' and I came up with title. I wrote all of the lyrics as well on the album. Ozzy would come and go from rehearsals. One day he came in and we played him 'Diary of a Madman' and because it had funny timing he couldn't get his head around. He said, 'Who the f--k do you think I am? Frank Zappa!' We said, 'You sing in this part but you don't sing here. This timing goes like this etc.' He started to like it when he got his head around but at first he was like, 'This is not for me'."
He did (as in several interviews write this song about Ozzy) lol and Ozz sung it with passion.
@@smokeybear5460 I've never seen an interview where Daisley said anything about writing the lyrics about Ozzy. He wrote them about himself at the age of 16.
You beat me to the comment lol
I love how Randy was able to make classical music so mainstream. Rock music generally takes a lot of things from blues because it's easy on the ears and listeners can make sense of it. Randy had the ability to guide you through these exotic notes and everything would make sense even when he is shredding your face off. He didn't use classical music just for the sake of it, he had the ability to use it to influence emotions. It's a testament to his ability that these 40 year old songs are still inspiring musicians and nobody has been able to do what he did back then.
RANDY JUDAH TORREZ < ❤️
Absolutely 💯
The incomparable Randy Rhoads sets the tone for this track and album with his brilliant guitar... Ozzy certainly a good choice of topic, especially from this era :) A great track mostly written by bass player Bob Daisley, though you'll find that Sharon tries to credit Ozzy with nearly everything and his bandmates tend to not get enough credit, but he's always had great musicians around him to share each others stories.
Well said, can't imagine anyone else playing guitar for Ozzy's first solo albums. Randy is the very best that I've ever heard!
Yes Bob Daisley wrote most of the lyrics for Ozzy and this particular song as well. Music is composed by Randy Rhoads, Bob Daisley and Lee kerslake who was the original drummer on this song. I believe this is not the original version of the song and that means it's from the remastered version with re-recorded bass and drums played by Robert Trujillo and Mike Bordin.
@@kullerwo Daisley in some ways did not write it... he rearranged it.
Diary of a madman is a story written by Nikolay Gogol and published in 1835.
It was written as a diary in first person about a government clerk who battles delusions and slowly descends into insanity.
The second story that had the most influence on the song is a story written by Lu Xun called "A madman's diary" it was published in 1918.
It's about a friend who goes to see two brothers that were his friends hearing they were sick. The older brother (I believe, I may be wrong about which one) was talking to him and gave him the diary of his younger brother to read.
Inside there were 10 or 15 maybe 13 passages written describing delusional mentality setting in, and eating people. He didn't even trust himself or what is inside of him. He thinks people are watching him and fatting him up to eat him and so forth.
Yes Daisley wrote the words to the song but he based it on these two stories and wrote it as being the younger brother from Lu Xun's story..... just wrote the same thing but in other words.
Still a masterpiece in it's own respect.
@@1wickedgroove without Randy, there's no Blizzard or Diary. He wrote most of the main riffs. Without those riffs/ideas, no first two Ozzy albums
@@mikegoddard210 absolutely,100% correct. Randy has been my favorite since I first heard"Blizzard" when it first came out...
The two first LP by Ozzy is masterpieces.
This whole album is masterfully crafted.
This is my favorite Ozzy song of all time. His first two albums hold a special place in my soul for my youth and also because of Randy Rhoads. Who was responsible for 1000's of guys back in the 80's to learn guitar including myself at age 12. Having mental health myself Diary of a Madman may be a dark like song but it is some what relatable.
Diary is my favorite song from the Randy Rhoads period of Ozzy's career. The music is orchestral and it builds and builds and explodes into a solo, just amazing. Randy was a genius. RIP
This song saw me through very difficult times. I give this album and the Blizzard of Oz album credit for saving my life ❤️
I suffered crippling depression for decades, this song and this particular band, and specifically Randy Rhoads saved my life. Randy's music touched my soul, and helped me connect to a higher power, and lead me from the darkness and into the light. This song means a great deal to me, especially with the war I fought with myself, wondering who I was and what this insane circle of pain I had fallen in love with that was killing me. The lyrics have great meaning in that regard to me, the man living behind my eyes who wasn't really me, and wondering if I would succumb to that demon and die. I nearly did, many times, not by my own hand, but my own inactions to take care of myself. I reached a point where I just couldn't take it anymore and had it out with the demon, either it would stop and I would be set free, or the demon would win, I would die and also be set free. I won the battle that day, and began the road to recovery. It's been more than a decade since that day, I am now a happy person, taking care of myself, growing, progressing and loving life again like I did as a child. I have Randy Rhoads to thank for that, god bless him, Bob, Lee and Ozzy for making music that truely inspires and isn't afraid to face the darkness. Also helping others gain the strength to perservere over their inner demons and finding their own path to the light.
I have always loved this song. The instrumentation is just captivating. The lyrics, I always use to admire from afar, and they reminded me of a close friend. Recently I have been able to self identity with them, and they have helped me keep some perspective.
Such an amazing Album and Song. Randy Rhoads was such a gifted Guitarist and He is responsible for Helping to make Ozzy's solo Career what it is today. He was such an amazing song writer as well!!
Ozzy's bass player Bob Daisley wrote this song. I attended these Ozzy Osbourne concerts.
What a song to have first discovered your channel on. One of my all-time fave songs and prolly my fave Ozzy song. I suffered from extreme depression for 31 years and only just freed myself of it around October of 2017.
The lyrics are written by Bob Daisly the bass player and mental issues he suffered from when young...the composition written is deliberately written so off balance to give the feel of slipping into madness, It really is an artistic masterpiece
This is a musical masterpiece the solo is so sweet i have to rewind it over and over again
What a wonderful service you are providing to those out there who are suffering from what is a much more common problem than society as a whole can even fathom. As for me, I was a guitar student of the late Randy Rhoads. When he passed it was like losing a friend, which was something I had never experienced and it took me many many years to get past it. I think that Ozzy's life took a plunge into a very dark place after Randy's death. They were like brothers. Randy was his salvation in a way when Ozzy was at his lowest point. Now, he was gone and I'm sure Ozzy felt lost, alone, beyond depressed. I guess what I'm saying is that this particular chapter on your page is so meaningful and there is so much beneath the surface that the whole story of this band in terms of mental health.
Really shows you how strong you are when you can beat it I watched a lot of my friends out there die from it but couldn't stop thank God I never over dose I lost a good friend the day before thanksgiving and that woke me up and I had to fight it and I'm thankful I beat it
I loved it when you made the "metal face" 😂
We can't help it sometimes, especially with Ozzy
Thanks for the great reaction to this often overlooked gem
In my opinion it is one of Ozzys best! Cheers from Canada 🙂👍🇨🇦
Ground Hog Day!! What a great way to describe depression. In my case it became a safe place, I didn't want anything to change and disrupt the small bit of control I had in being able to know what tomorrow could bring.
I know all to well about Major Depression. And suicidal tendencies and attempts. This music always pumped me up. Thank you for sharing this and your reaction. Your so adorable too.
The last bit where Ozzy just sings.."OOOOOOOOOOooooohhhhh", as he gives up and sinks into the abyss might just be the greatest thing in music ever.
I love this song. Such a masterpiece. So well written. One of my favorite Ozzy songs.
I've been listening to Ozzy since the early 80's a bit after this came out in 1981. Musically it is very unique, to make it sound not just quite right its a 4 + 3 beat that's syncopated that goes with lyrics of a Diary of a Madman. It's basically a story of someone that is losing their mind or questioning their own sanity. Good song for a topic of discussion on Amanda's channel. Another song that would be good to do, that goes along with the same theme, is Metallica's Welcome Home (Sanitarium)
And if Randy was not in the band he never comes up with this song.
For reference, as idk of she's that familiar with music, most music tends to be around 4 + 4, that's 4 beats per measure; nice, even, and easy to pick up on. Western music in general is overwhelmingly written in 4/4 for this reason.
That's the time signature we're used to, whether that be for pop or rock (though rock tends to have a bit more variation). So 4/3 gives a tiny bit of the feeling of unease for most listeners, like they can't *quite* pick up where the beat is going at first.
@@jaernihiltheus7817 some of this song is actually in 14/8 signature. Some 6/8. Some beginning of this is 4/4. Weird time signatures that make it sound "not right" as you mentioned.
Crazy train as well
I can never figure out if this is 4+3 or 7/4
The guitar riff before the solo (-5:53) is a masterpiece of guitar rock granite. it is not only Randy’s finest riff it’s one of the single greatest pieces of music in rock history. That riff is BRUTAL. ❤️🤘🏼🫶🏼☀️🔥🔥
Extremely enjoyable to play that piece on guitar. I often find myself playing it for a few extra bars. It was in E minor, though the song begins in the Key(s) of A (major, minor, and diminished). The solo is in Hungarian Minor and minor pentatonic run to finish.
Great content, thank you so much for bring there in your own way. Just recently lost my best friend if 30+ years, and on quite an emotional ride. Watching and hearing you calms me, so many thank yous....
I hope that you continue to heal. I'm so sorry for your loss. Feel free to share memories with your friend here.
I've always envisioned that finale as a camera pulling away from a closeup on Ozzy's eye. Back through his dark room of dusty secret things. Out of the window revealing that he is in the tower of a castle on an island. Finally the camera pulls back further and ends up back through his eye to where it began.
Flying High Again - Same album
I was a freshman in High School
when this came out !!!
I was going to suggest this song. It has been turning in my heart lately with the rollercoaster this time around.
One of the best songs Ozzy has made.🔥🤘🤘
You are doing something very worthwhile by sharing your insights and experiences on such an important and serious subject. Wishing you good health and happiness!
My favorite line is when he asked the guys at the diner.they say yep sounds about right.
I usually can't pick just one favorite song from a band, but this is my favorites song by Ozzy. A masterpiece.
Lee Kerslake actually wrote this but my all-time fav ozzy song. I'm so blessed to have seen Randy live. This song says it all for us mentally challenged
I was in 8th grade when this came out, I’m about to be 53…good god where did the time go?! Metal 4 Life!
I've never heard of you, until today. Great job and way to take it a step further with intense reaction & analysis: Thank you and awesome job! I look forward to more 70's & 80's reactions of all genres from you: especially hard rock, soul & funk.
wOw! There is so much life and joy you give off looking into your beautiful eyes. Lessened any depression I may have had for sure. Great pick and reaction.
I found your video, first time viewer. I love that song it means the world to me. And then you spoke about mental health. Blew me away other people were having the exact things im dealing with. The groundhog day reference zapped me, it truly feels like that. The shouting darkness taking your memories and making you think your a monster. Know that you helped me just now, i appreciate it.
The lyrics are written by bassist Bob Daisley based on his experiences with insanity and how he overcame it. Brilliant song written by Randy and Bob. Excellent time signatures in this song. My personal favorite. RIP Randy Rhoads (what a gifted musician).
Thanks for doing this one. This entire album is amazing but there’s just something about this song that just resonates some days. This one is inspired by an experience of one of the band members at the time (the bassist I believe)
Bob Daisley wrote the lyrics about Ozzy.
@@michaelkeudel8770 Bassist Bob Daisley said he wrote “Diary of a Madman” about himself. After suffering his first nervous breakdown at age 16, he quickly learned some of the biggest problems we deal with are in ourselves, which inspired lyrics like “I am my own worst enemy.”
@@slothkng Exactly!! Thanks for a factual comment.😬😁
You are SO greatly appreciated.

What a interesting insight into your mind and a perspective I've never had. Very Courageous. Thank you!
Ozzy Osbourne, oh the stories I could give you!! This is second solo album of his after being fired from Black Sabbath. The very start of this particular song was an idea Ozzy thought when he heard guitar player at the time Randy Roahds taking lessons from a stern looking guitar teacher. He bursts in in his underwear (such a lovely view eh?) and asks what it was and Randy said it was Mozart. This is the intro bit and Ozzy says Right, we're knicking it. Randy says you can't knick Mozart and he just goes oh, im sure he won't mind. It was a shame only after this album Randy lost his life from a crashed plane on a tour bus. My favourite album of Ozzy's is No More Tears from 1991 with guitarist Zakk Wylde. Every song on that album Ozzy wanted to sound like a potential single and I think they didnt disappoint, I have listened to that album a bazillion times and still don't get sick of it, an incredible record. So much more I could tell you about him and his music but maybe another time.
Actually it's Leo Brouwer's Etude #6, not Mozart.
@@hullbarrett thankyou sorry for the incorrection.
I love no more tears but this trumps it.
Your such an inspirational person because your a beacon of hope for a lot of people including me keep doing what your doing
Bob Daisley wrote ALL the lyrics and co-composed ALL the music and played bass on Ozzy's first 3 albums.
Long time Sabbath fan hence was glad to see Ozzy find RR and and his genius. Saw them 1st two tours and it was awesome.
Thanks for posting
Suicide Solution was involved in my getting my life saved from one of my least believable sources
one word, Masterpiece
Randy put all this together, he played nylon accustic and steel string guitars, even on your he would look up classical guitar teachers, I saw him on the BLIZZARD OF OZZ tour, I was 13, I play guitar, trumpet, barratone horn, I spent everyday in my room learning him, I cried so hard when he passed away
Thank you for this reaction. One of my favs of all time... I recently found your channel and LOVE the insight that have, your views, looking at them sometimes completely different then I do. Excellent education on psychology with the legendary Mr Ozzy Osborne and Randy Rhodes mixology.😊 This Album was released on October 1981.
Thanks, Amanda! You're awesome and amazing!!
Love to see younger gals enjoying Randy and Bob music!!!!!!
Randy was a brilliant guitarist, hands down one of the best!
THE best.
The kid in the back is one of Ozzy's kid from another marriage
The bass player wrote these lyrics, based on his depression as a teenager
Howdy mental. Hope the sun is shining bright in your neck of the woods.
Love your videos. Today's especially resonated with me. Sometimes I'm my own worst enemy. But I'll never give up the battle.
Have a great day mi.lady
This was by far Ozzies greatest album ever and Randy's masterpiece. I've been dealing with mental health issues my whole life and I'm still battling them to this day and I'm 65. I've been through so much that most people couldn't even begin to deal with. If I wrote a book it would be so damn depressing and scary as well as heartbreaking. I've been alone for over 25 years now and I haven't even dated at all and I'm not interested in dating. I really can't talk to anyone about my life.
Thank you so much for sharing and opening up. We can't rewrite your story, but we can be here to listen and love you!
OMG YAASSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!
This WHOLE album is AMAZING!!!!!! "Over the Mountain" and "You Can't Kill Rock n Roll" are also amazing from this album!!!
*Edit: Ozzy has a LOT of mental health songs in his catalogue of 50+ years!!!
Flying High Again!!!!!
Believer is one of my favorites on this album.
This song was written by the bass player Geezer Butler and the lyric content was actually taken by parts of his mental health diary while he was actually in a mental healthcare facility for treatment of severe depression and addiction.
Bob Daisley, soo sorry
My favorite ozzy song and he's my favorite singer, relate to this song strongly!!!!
Revelation Mother Earth is another thought provoking Ozzy song with rock / classical crossover
Also, the little boy on the album cover is his oldest Son Luis Osbourne from his first marriage!
Wow I didn't think you would understand the lyrics so perfectly. God bless, Sister!
One of my favorite songs of all time. Each of the six times I have seen Ozzy live I was just waiting to here it. So relatable. Especially this week. And your reaction and analysis is so spot on. My Tuesday began with a major COPD flare up at work causing a trip to the ER. Having been battling anxiety and depression for a big part of my life it was inevitable that and anxiety attack was coming soon. Well having to deal with it for so many years I know the triggers and can spot the first simplest signs of my mind trying to take over, and while sitting there on the table, connected to machines and screens like my grandsons xbox, I began to feel my mouth start to dry and my palms begin to sweat. Luckily for me I was already in the hospital and was able to inform the doctor of what was about to take place. Before I knew it my mind was rambling, my breathing was getting worse be exacerbated by my anxiety, and things were going off track real quick. I have always had a fear of pharmaceuticals, even as a child, but I have learned that sometimes they are an absolute must, and before I knew it there was a slight burning sensation in my arm where that had put in an IV without me even noting because my mind was elsewhere. Within minutes my cyclonic life was easing from a typhoon of doom back to a place of reality and peacefulness, without being high. Just better. Sometimes, if we want to survive, we just have to do it. At just 58 years old, things get real in an instant when they start placing time frame on your remaining lifespan, and it is single digits. That is a whole lot to deal with. But through counseling, and using writing and art to focus and ground myself, and with the help of others like yourself who have been there, I can face my future knowing that I will be OK and I can make the best of what I have now. It is time to do what I want, when I want, with who I want. I appreciate what you do. Thank you. To others out there fighting this fight, it's a battle, but that is all it is. It is a war that can be won as long as you keep on fighting. Now if it ok, I would like to leave you all with a little something that I wrote while struggling with a similar severe anxiety attack.......
Floating peacefully on the surface
of a clear and glass calm sea
All is well with my world
I have great friends and family
My artwork is quickly starting to spread
My words are being asked for
I have a truly wonderful life
From it I could ask no more
Suddenly the mirror begins to crack
From nowhere comes a mental wind shear
Like a great Noreaster in my head
My world becomes filled with fear
With the gale my calm is stolen
My relaxing float has been disrupted
Turbulence tosses my raft of life
My peace instantly corrupted
Waves crashing in on my cyclonic life
Monstrous seas and a rogue typhoon
As I break the top of one white cap
The next brings visions of doom
On my little raft I am tossed about
I dread the future and what comes next
What's right? What's wrong? An attack on my soul
I spiral helpless into the vortex
Gasping as the water fills my lungs
The end is near I will surely drown
Then suddenly from the horizon
Comes a familiar peaceful sound
As the trials of life spin viciously by
Comes a ray of hope with a silver lining
My wife and son stand fast by my side
They speak of a world brilliantly shining
They allow me to speak, rant, and ramble
Of how I think my world is dividing
My pacing stops, I'm able to sit
The turbulent sea is slowly subsiding
I ease back to the calm for which I am fond
With thought of fishing and hunting ducks
I realize it's just the power of our mind
And anxiety really sucks.
I love that you use your anxiety symptoms to write something so beautiful. I had to chuckle at the last line. When I have a panic attack, water really grounds me. Whether running my hands under cold water, my feet under hot water or just drinking cool water, it can REALLY help take the edge off. Proud of you for getting through!
@@MentalAmanda that old saying "the pen is mightier than the sword" is so true. And it works both ways. A few written words of malice and bad intent can bring a person down and literally destroy them. But, as in my case, it can be the ultimate life saver. Keep up the great work you do. Best wishes. Frank
Yes...that ending. The more you listen to this song The More you will hear things you didn't hear before. There is a whole lot going on in the background. This is basically a short Opera and that ending is a Gregorian chant. Absolutely brilliant. Look up "O Fortuna"
One of the brilliant aspects of this song is that the listener can reasonably interpret lines like "someone who lives behind my eyes" any one of several ways. It could be multiple personality disorder. It could be a metaphor for depression. Or, given Ozzy's penchant for horror story themes and Satanic trappings, it might even be understood as referring to demon possession.
Ozzy Osbourne himself has had his share of mental health and behavioral issues, including ADHD, a learning disorder, depression, and addictive personality disorder. (Like, he gives the Rolling Stones and the Grateful Dead a run for their money when it comes to lifetime achievement in substance abuse).
He has actually recorded other songs centered on themes of mental illness/insanity/addiction. With his original band, Black Sabbath, he recorded songs like "Paranoid" (an all-time classic), and "Am I Going Insane (Radio)."
As a solo artist, he did "Suicide Solution," which is about alcohol addiction as a form of slow suicide, and others.
Bob Daisley wrote the lyrics when he was 16 years old
I have loved this song with all my heart since age 10....never did I think it become my life, I guess it is rather fitting.
Amanda, let me let you in on a few things that make this song unique, the lyricist and my own mental journey.
The bass player in the band at the time was the one who penned the lyrics. He was going thru a hellish mental episode and just started writing what he was feeling. They are dark they are scary, and they are REAL.
The music itself is played by a man who is revered by guitar players worldwide to this day. A life cut short by a plane crash. Randy Rhodes was a classically trained pianist/musician who taught at his mother's music school since he was 14. His classical background is why this music is so haunting and scary sounding. Master of the Friggian, Mixolydian and Lydian modes he used those scales known as the "scary scales" to add to the power of Ozzy's music.
Last, but not least, the reason the music sounded so odd/peculiar/catchy is because a good portion of the song is written in a 7/8-time signature. The brain is used to 4/4-time signatures or even counts. 7/8 is extremely odd and catches the ear easily, but the brain does not know why.
I am a survivor. A survivor of many things. I beat cancer, sepsis (both in the same year) and I have had a mini stroke. I also have been diagnosed with PTSD. Stress related anxiety that was debilitating. I beat them all and came out on the other side. Thru prayer, family and good old fashioned hard headedness I won. I removed the stressors, realized that when I die, I die, and God wants me home. I no longer live in fear of death. I looked him in the eye and didn't blink. I got help, I talked about it with anyone who would listen. Professional, friends, family, you name it. Processed it and tossed it all in the crapper.
To anyone reading this, remember you are not alone. Get some help, talk it out. It's going to take a while. It's not an overnight thing. It took years for you to get to where you are, and you will make it out of this hellscape that you're in. I've been around, I've dealt with death, seen friends die, mired my way thru the tragic death of a fiancée', faced my own mortality a few times and I have a pulse still.
Live your life. Tomorrow is not promised, give every day like it's your last.

Thank you for being you!!!
I saw an interview with the producer of this album and i think this is the song that one guy from the band ELO came in and wrote the sheet music for the orchestra in like 30 minutes, while drinking lol
this song was actually written by Ozzys bassist at the time.. TBO this song is my daily anthem and my daily life.
Me too dude.
So you're not alone
Nice job, by the way I have been around since the 60s and that ending was definitely unique!! One of my favorite Ozzy songs! I was lucky to have seen the 1981:tour with Randy Rhodes, such a tragedy he died so young with that incredible talent!
I worked in a mental hospital for over 30 years. I really appreciate your channel. I could tell you some stories.
If you want to listen to a song about mental health listen to Megalomania by Black Sabbath brilliant song.
Ozzys best song ever. Everything ok this song kicks ass.
Dig deeper into Ozzy’s stuff, especially the Randy Rhoads albums. Those two albums are huge inspirations for me as a guitar player and have gotten me through some rough times.
OZZY = UNIQUE. It was interesting watching this as you were reacting to Ozz singing, but you were listening to the music as well. Your explanation of your experiences is valid not everyone lives the dream.
My favorite artist of all time is Bruce Springsteen, I finally understand why a few years ago Bruce wrote his autobiography and talked about his deep depression that he couldn’t cope with even after he gained fame and fortune, it took medication and therapy, I have experienced this for over 40 years and I thought it was just me
Exactly! Grounding Day...is a very accurate example of the self torture/struggle.
great song and Groundhog Day is one of my top ten movies ...love it....
Thanks for this. A Perfect Circle did a cover of this blended with The Cure's "Love Song" that always stuck with me as a very BPD version-- such a splitting kind of song. Afaik there's only a live version of it, but I'd bet it's on UA-cam too.
hey lady, just found your channel. everyone has doubts about themself at some time. just do the best you can everyday, there is no key to happiness. just make yourself happy however you can, without hurting anyone. something about diary of a madman, the song and the album, just love it.
Been an Ozzy fan since 1980& saw Ozzy for the first time in 1981 12-31-81 rip Randy Rhoads listen to Korn thoughtless & no one's there plz give those a listen 🤘
Don't let your mental health slide folks, but this is the best Ozzy song of all time
Musically this is a Randy Rhoads masterpiece. I can only imagine what he would have done if he hadn't passed to early!!
Hand of Doom, by Sabbath (still Ozzy) might be a good song to do. It was written about drug addiction among Vietnam vets. It paints a very real picture both lyrically and musically.
Yes, as the 80's Ozzy I would run and never look back (to Sharon).
All lyrics of the first two Ozzy albums were written by the original bass player Bob Daisley. If you're wondering if Randy could pull it off live then listen to Randy Rhoads Tribute. Sidebar: the cross is the cross of St. Peter due to how he wanted to be crucified.
Great album and song and heck of a great guitar player Randy Rhoads.
Excellent review and reaction.🤘👋😊
This song is awesome!
1. I'm blown away by the 'Groundhog Day'/depression analogy, it's so right on point, I could not think of a better way to describe the experience of deep, long-term depression. 2. I love that the verse section of this song is in 7/4, a very unusual meter, which has this almost sorta misstep in the rhythm, which is perfect for this song, gives it just that extra little layer of perceptual disorientation. 3. I'm glad that you're enjoying this song, and I hope you check out Ozzy a bit more, 'Blizzard of Oz' and 'Diary of a Madman', his first and second solo albums, are seriously like the Gutenberg bible/albums of early Heavy Metal (and don't pay attention to the whole geek show incident, it was totally overblown). Also, Randy Rhoads was/is an absolute LEGEND as a heavy metal guitarist; every note is pretty much perfect; e.g. 'Flying High Again'...! 4. Love the bunny ear headphones, I gotta find those for my niece, she'd flip! and lastly, 5. Good God Almighty, what incredibly beautiful big blue eyes you have! Knock me over with a feather!
I can send a pair to your niece if you like. Signed even if it would mean more 💖
I have listened to Ozzy for years off and on, I Prefer Black Sabbath while Ozzy was lead singer, I have fought Depression for most of my life and continue to this day, I have been in councilling and meds for the lost year and the fight goes on, but it is getting better and I'm a little stronger. Thank You for being here
Happy you survived!
