The solo at the end is one of my favorite solos of all time. I was a devastated young teen when Randy died. I idolized the guy. These first 2 albums were on constant replay.
I wore this cassette out
Same here bro. He was my final idol, I just got sick of my idols dying. To me he and Eddie are the greatest guitar player and innovators ever.
And the way it leads into Steal Away The Night is awesome.
Randy Rhodes, if he had survived, would have been even more important to music than EVH. If anyone ever says, I don’t like Ozzy, I play Revelation for them.
@@wildwoodandonyx i dont know about that eddie had some good stuff with van halen and sammy
This is one of Ozzy's and Randy's most UNDERRATED songs on both albums they released! This song is freggin' ridiculous!
It's a blizzard pf ozz song written by Randy and Bob Daisley
@@Dave_Wight_The_Rock_Oracle I know.
Was fortunate enough to see Ozzy on the Diary of a Mad Man tour while Randy was still alive
I saw blizzard..and was blown away.. couldn't wait for diary...randy died on his way to my show..what a punch to the gut..miss you randy..long live Ozzy and the rest of the guys Ozzy put in front of us..
The writing of Randy Rhoads and Bob Daisley was amazing. Add in Lee Kerslake's drumming and of course Ozzy's voice... two brilliant albums.
Bob never really got the credit he deserved. His lyrics are simply amazing.
One of the greatest bands ever
@SomeGuy-xf9bc he's an all time A leaguer
As a teenager in the early 80s, I literally listened to the closing guitar solo thousands of times with headphones. But back then, listening wasn't enough. Many of us were inspired to buy guitars and learn the parts. It was a magical time. I don't see it happening today. But imagine being at just the right age when Rhoads and EVH were young guns and in their prime. And then Yngwie was right around the corner along with the 80s shredders. That era of creativity has yet to be surpassed. Of course, I'm biased.
Two greatest guitarist heroes, Ed and Randy, Yngwie is a B leaguer
Randy's personal favorite track.
R.I.P Randy
The planets were aligned and the gears of the universe were in sync for Ozzy's first two solo albums. Meeting Randy was fate and ultimately it cost Randy his life but God damn did he make his mark on the world of guitar , musicians , and metal lovers that has only grown more powerful with time. Randy was a special talent that could melt faces with his shredding but it was always musical. Not just finger gymnastics , he made every note count.
His first two solo albums were Bark at the moon and ultimate sin. Did you mean the two Blizzard of ozz albums, two masterpieces
@@Dave_Wight_The_Rock_Oracle Technically you are right but almost no one knows that.
Yo biz. Yeah growing up with this music. We were misunderstood. Everyone who didn’t understand it said it was noise devils music. We knew better though. Rock gave us everything musically vocally. We didn’t give a shit what people thought anyway haha
This is one of the albums that walked me through high school and made me the bad ass I am today! 19kilo US ARMY veteran at your service my friends.
Ozzy & Black Sabbath are just one of many great bands from my home town of Birmingham,(U.K.). Along with, The Moody Blues, E.L.O, Duran Duran, UB40, Judas Priest and many more. A great reaction to this brilliant tune.
Fuck yeah!!!
🤘🖤🦇🤘
And this is my favorite of this album, thank you Randy Rhodes!!!!!
*Rhoads
Yeah, it's Randy Rhoads, He was a guitar virtuoso, his mom & dad taught music & his mom had a music studio.
He only did two studio albums with Ozzy before his death, this album & my personal fave Diary of a Madman!
Randy was in a band right before Ozzy, Quiet Riot & after his death on their album "Metal Health" they dedicated "Thunderbird" to him, its a beautiful song! 🤘😈
☮
Two albums with Blizzard of ozz...randy of course was a game changer
The fusion of classical and metal…brilliant!
That's who Randy was, then it really came together pf the magnum opus: diary of a madman
Great reaction Biz! This followed by Steal Away The Night is EPIC! When I was a teenager this cassette was probably in the tape deck in my car more than any other I owned. RR’s death like Jimi Hendrix death stole so much incredible and innovative music from the world.
You are the only UA-camr to really listening to the Great Randy Rhoades and I give you Mad Respect...
I appreciate that
No, there are others buy it seems like a whole new generation is finding the greatness of Randy Rhoads and the band Blizzard of ozz.
Been listening to this song since 82 - I still get chills from Randy's guitar solos. Crazy.
Chills and tears. The message of the lyrics still resonates today. And the sadness of what we lost, in the ascension of Randy’s greatness, was so profound that I cry my eyes out every time I hear this. It is Randy’s masterpiece.
Unfortunately, Tipper Gore and friends never bothered to listen to this selection. They had no idea what Ozzy is about, but the Prince of Darkness always gets the last laugh…
That's why metal music kept me in touch with God''
Great reaction to an all-time classic!
Randy Rhoads was brilliant and the song exemplified why he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2021.
Both Blizzard of Ozz and Diary of a Madman were masterpieces for their time and are still relevant today. No one Randy would be killed in a tragic plane crash just four months after Diary was released on March 19, 1982. May he rest in peace.
Thank you
Daisley’s lyrics are timeless.
Sadness the cup drink they drink from, self destruction the toll
Bob one of the all time greats
What a RIDE!!!! Love that piano breakdown and then Randy's solo!!!
Great songwriting
All time great song, it's actually a band called Blizzard of ozz. Great ending solo. The whole album is great. Top selling metal debut of all-time
My tape cassette wore out from rewinding this song.
One of the greatest guitar solos of all time.. period. Great song overall. Randy was the GOAT of hard rock guitar
*metal guitar, he's undoubtedly revered as a metal guy.
All time A-leaguer
It’s ironic how spiritual and positive allot of Metal songs are. Only a small % of Metal band openly associate themselves with “the devil” 😈. Ozzy has always been on of my favorite! Thanks for this video!
Right where you say the switch up is the calm before the storm
Is song hits on so many levels and it very relevant, especially in todays time. Such beauty and amazing passion in the lyrics and greatly in the music. Randy was a living God.
Randy Rhoads and Bob Daisley one of the greatest songwriting teams ever
Just amazing. Keep rockin !!!
I see you feelin it. How can’t you. Master piece. Love randy.
Bam!!!
Man, that piano solo is so f*cking gorgeous!
Piano plus the guitar solo
Glad you love it... Good reaction! 🤘🐐
Goosebumps 😂
Love that track
One of the great hard rock masterpieces. Some of those live versions from ‘81 are incredible. Some of Ozzy’s great singing.
It's metal...the live versions are better than the studio but that's who Rhoads was
This is the greatest Ozzy song for me. Kinda funny , you read the lyrics and hear the message, but yet he gets labeled as the prince of darkness, evil, or devil worshiper.
Great reaction you get it thank so much
I have to say my favorite is good bye to romance. For the simple fact that Randy came up with the melody for that song prior to meeting Ozzy and was the conclusion to his guitar solo for laughing gas with Quiet riot.
Randy Rhoads was the One who wanted to combine Rock N Roll with Classical Music and it shows up in this Song... The Best Guitarist Ever.... And he passed away Way Too Soon.... Just like Stevie Ray Vaughan.... Seems like the Best EVER can Shine for a limited Time....
What do you mean , a limited time. It's been 41 years and his music and his legacy shine as Brite or should I say brighter then back then. God bless Mr. Randall William Rhoads and each and every one of his fans.
Sir, seeing you react to ozzy and randy has been a pleasure. Dee is my favorite song on this album
As a Pagan, I really appreciate the juxtaposition of *MOTHER EARTH* alongside, and woven into, Biblical verses.
One of my favorites from the Prince Of Darkness, He, and Black Sabbath too, were always trying to awaken people and call them to action...*before it's too late.....*
I know ppl say mr Crowley one SATO or a number of other songs for Randy best solo. But for me its this one right here it sounds like a symphony to me
I listen to this every Earth Day
This song is not actually about his own mother, but it's about mother Earth, and how we are destroying it with all the drilling and pollution, and every other shit that we are doing to are own planet...it's really sad and very truthful!
During a listening party on the 21st of September 2020 that celebrated the 40th anniversary of this album, Ozzy stated this about the song:
“You would think we’d have learned to treat Mother Earth better since this song was originally written. Unfortunately, I think we actually treat her worse now.”
This and diary my favorites of all time
Diary of a madman arguably the greatest album ever written
Thank you for doing this song. It just doesn't get the love it deserves. It truly is the most beautiful song. To me it teaches you how evil the world is and ii just keeps repeating itself. And those who see that are the ones that get judged for standing up against it. Again thank you for giving a beautiful song love.
It's just a great song with inherent beauty , but that's what this band was led by Rhoads
Great that you read the lyrics.....Many of Ozzy's songs have surprisingly deep lyrics. One of the most surprising songs by Black Sabbath is "After Forever"......the lyrics would shock most people.....maybe make them change the way they actually view Ozzy, the man.
War Pigs says it all
Best song ever from ozzy, after 20 other best😂
You can be having the worst day possible. You put this album on and it moves you in ways unexpected by the end of it your outlook is better for listening to this..
You are in A JOURNEY
Nice Review. Keep up the Good Work!😇😇😇😇😇
Thank you fam 🙏🏿
My favorite track is Mr. Crowley
THIS is my favorite tracks on the album along with Steal Away The Night which i feel should be played together because of the way the final solo of Mother and the beggining of Steal run together.
Randy was my final idol, I just got sick of my idols dying. To me he and Eddie are the greatest guitar players and innovators ever.
✌️Peace✌️
Yo biz. Anotha one 🤞
This is one of my favorite solos from Randy.🍻
Fire!
The live version with randy sounds 1000x better
Nothing will ever sound like this when Randy died so did this sound he was the best yeah a lot shredders out there now i challenge you to write a song this well
RIP Randy Rhoads
Right into STEAL AWAY THE NIGHT .....
Aw man! Your supposed to let it go into the next song Steal Away The Night!
That’s song busts into another song “Steal away the night”…..
Is that the part song play in SCARFACE🤔
Ozzy's vocals are awesome... hey Biz great album pick... now you need to react to Ozzy's 2nd album "Diary of a Madman".
Most of my teenage years were spent trying to explain to people that Ozzy and Black Sabbath wrote about good and evil, and as far as being on any one "side," they were definitely not down with any seriously evil undertones.
Rhoads yep
Fucking Randy Rhoads man...RIP
Fuck, man. Early solo Ozzy is a hidden gem
Every album up until the end of the Zakk Wylde Era is a fucking masterpiece.
From blizzard all the way to ozzmosis
Einstein said, doing the same thing and expecting different results is the definition of insanity.
You should now be able to see why Randy was so special.
Randy Rhoads masterpiece
rip rwr
70 times seven shall u forgive your brother, in 1 day if he asks in sincerity, Jesus taught, his mercy endures forever praised David Nothing new under the sun is true
To me ignorance is not knowing, stupidity is knowing and not doing or saying the right thing
I hope you’re not trying to go against ozzy
BizMatik, thanks for sharing that. BUT you really need to hear this song live from the Ozzy/Randy Tribute album. The centerpiece interlude is done much different. It's done with the toned down electric not acoustic. And the ending solo is much more fiery. You really need to check it out trust me. And by the way this and Mr. Crowley on my two favorite songs from this album. But then again the whole album is phenomenal.
