Chromatic Fire is a really good pairing for it. Because the explosions seem to count as weapon damage, they can actually pick up the orb automatically with a precision kill. It's really nice

It’s actually kinda cool because it has some lore reasons why it looks like that, because if you actually look at the symbol of what ever corporation or government group that owned the cosmodrome you’ll see that it uses the same colour scheme as the gun. So that’s kinda cool but yeah the ornament still looks better.
@@johannes1212 my only gripe with the ornament is our guardian uses the charging handle on the side of the gun instead of the M4 style charging handle
Just last night I got a triple kill just shooting 1guy in control never felt so satisfied using an auto rifle

This gun is nice for 3v3 cause it takes a core element of close quarters team work and makes it an inconvenience. People ducking out of cover while their team mate tags in to heal and then they can’t cause of the ricochet round.

You should try out the good old Forward Path if you have access to it, The Forward Path and Khvostov have very similar stats with The Forward Path actually beating The Khvostov in a few of the more important stats like Range and Handling honestly in my opinion its hard to say what ones better.

@@unforeseen9267 it shouldn't take away every mote if you kill the meatball last but there's a chance it takes multiple kills on a boss to actually get the mote
@@giga-egg Damn. That boss is already on a random rotation and a chore to deal with. Not having the guaranteed mote just adds to the bungo misery loop.
Do you have the legendary khvostov unlocked? The meatball wasn’t giving me anything I was stuck at 16 out of 17 motes but when I unlocked the legendary khvostov in my collections THEN killed the meatball again he dropped the exotic version of the mote and it let me open the chest for the exotic.

They did not fix it as I have done 4 meatball bosses and the 17th mote to make the primordial mote has not dropped, and yes I tried every single way to get it even putting the 16 I have in the vault did not work either so how the fudge you got it I dont know but Bungie needs to sort their shit out as this is bull shit and the incompetence to fix shit is mindblowing

Man, I was so excited for this DLC.
Here comes the unbelievable grind.
From getting the fragments to this exotic mission. Everything is complicated and boring.
Solo players will drop destiny quickly again.
I've already given up.
This thing is truly insane in PvP. I got two easy wins in Trials (which happens rarely) and tons of kills in 6v6. The only issue I have is that the "quest" to get it is very time consuming and pretty boring.
Edit: can confirm, the ornament is pay-to-win, for some reason it feels way more stable and has a big improvement on the aim assist.

What makes khvostov is that it’s accessible to everyone and its exotic perks, they are top tier in neutral.
Having said that, overthrowing summoner im just going to have to disagree with, just imo. I have one of the god rolls, 80 range, heal clip kill clip. Regardless of zoom and AA, the differences are minor enough where if you can aim, summoner with 80 range has 7 meters of range over khvostov’s 47. As far as perks, in this case with heal clip kill clip doesn’t need explaining.
The description where it gives more damage is incorrect. It's the wrong description according to bungie and should be fixed in a future patch. It does not do more damage. Either way, the gun is awesome and I love using it. But I was still able to go flawless with my zen moment and onslaught summoner this week. 🙂
"almost everyone stacks an arrowhead barrel on top of an adept counterbalance mod to bring the summoners recoil in line and make it manageable" Ummmmm no? first off, if the recoil on summoner was at all a problem at base (which it is not) you wouldn't add an adept counterbalance and mess up the guns range. a regular one reaches 100 with arrowhead without taking away 10 range. More importantly though, I have never run any recoil anything on summoner on controller or mnk, and it has always been the most manageable auto in the game, that's why its been amazing for so long.
The range difference is pretty big and in foundry summoner pulls away in some pretty important stats 18 range with hammer ricochet. And thats none adept most people will still go with khovstov due to base aim assist and recoil but a 4/5 or maybe a 3/5 adept summoner will have better stats.
If only I wasn't stuck at 16 motes with no clue which overthrow boss that I'm missing because the triumph page for the bosses shipped bugged. Maybe one of these days I'll figure it out. I thought it was the taken servitor that was disabled on launch week but I beat it this week and still no exotic mote...
I dojt have any issue with Summoner recoul direction which is surprising - but one of ky main duel roles has Zen Moment and the other perpetual motion. Ill get around to getting this Auto eventually - about halfway on the collection of the 19 thingys

Khvostov is a lot of fun. I’ve been running it with Actium war rig on my Titan. Can’t get enough of hearing “double down, triple down” 🤣
Is zoom reducing recoil just a weird Destiny thing? I'd assume the complete opposite since zoom means your viewpoint is further down the barrel.
First thing I noticed when launching final shape was AA felt weird / not so sticky - i was way off with my hits. Finally dropped kvostov and was like - wow ok this is how last season felt on practically every weapon (to a certain degree). I hope this tweak is dialed back a bit as time goes on because the current differential is too much imo.
The issue I have with this gun is the fact that the seventh bullet is a no-skill perk. Seven bullets = ricochet no matter if it’s to the head or foot. This gun is rampant in comp and trials and it’s ridiculous how often you need to run away from people because you’re ~40 hp less than full and never even saw the initial gunfight
I just wish this game had the same stability as in D1. If a weapon had more than 50% stability its bullet weren't all over the place. D2 weapon stability is garbage.
Yeah, that would’ve been quest and destiny. One was long. It wasn’t difficult really I mean there was some good fights and what not but the weapon is horribly underwhelming and it’s not as good as anything else that you might use. It was disappointing really
I wouldn't say it is, it's OK. It's a fun gun to use in everyday activities but even in Expert/Legend stuff it falls somewhat short.
They actually didn't fix it though. I've killed every boss 5+ times including the meatball and cannot get my final mote.

My opinion i have both and summoner has a perc zen moment and target lock. Wayyy better for crucible than khovastav. This is false info

I feel the legendary is better. Strategist and Multikill Clip is just better than shoot to loot and the occasional bonus damage imo.
And the sight picture is better.
Dont bother asking me if its worth investing.
I was already invested and on the hunt for it from the very beginning.
Its natural we hunt for this treasure.
After all, it's the 1st gun we get since D1.

I saw for a couple of days people calling the exotic Khovostov Garbage, but then when i tried it in pve and pvp it felt so good, So either they’re trolls, or they are spreading an opinion like it’s a fact
This gun at minimum takes hours to unlock..it’s now 4:16 in the morning..I started at 7pm
That suppress on the Thundercrash was nasty good
I just wish picking up orbs by shooting them reloaded the gun and maybe we’ll get a catty at some point that buffs the ricochet damage gradually as it bounces between targets
Just finished the campaign…and I’m done with Destiny. Zero fun left for me.
I got the meatball earlier. It didn't drop the mote. I'm still at 16 and I've got all the boss triumphs. It's very aggravating
I feel crazy , every content creator is telling me how amazing this gun is but it’s just so incredibly mid to me .
to me it feels kinda clunky, though that could come from the reticle being really big when aiming, and the fact my brain is constantly telling me im missing the ricochet bullet and to focus on that rather than..using the gun.
Then again khvostov also has 30 less range and 10 less stability and no zen moment

Nah summoner has a lot more range with the barrels and masterwork and then zen and target lock or kill clip feels perfect. Also idk the way summoner fires i dont think recoil rrly matters
something i feel has gone under the radar is that the richocet rounds dmg doesnt fall off ( or atleast if it does its minor) so in a way it kinda has an exposive round effect, idealy you woundnt really use it as a long range gun but its still pretty nice to have that option in certain situations.
I'm so frustrated with the quest. All golden chest and like 11 lost ghosts. I have no clue how to do the cyst thing right.

In my opinion and by little experience i think Quicksilver is Anti Khvostov.
I wouldn’t say the meatball is fully fixed because I killed it six times and still haven’t gotten the mote

I'm dogshit so getting two kills in a row fast enough to proc siphon mods is impossible.
in my first game with it i got we ran out of medals and my combat score was 14.5
devour was actually nerfed awhile back and only heals a chunk of HP now and not to full

The zoom only affects visual Recoil, not the actual recoil
stability scales based on your zoom value. deeper zoom means your shaking doesn't kick in as harshly at deeper ranges compared to a lower zoom. the recoil pattern is the same, the severity is reduced.
@TrueVanguard a weapon with the same stability stat and Recoil Direction with different zoom will not change its bullet deviation and Recoil. Zoom only changes the visual recoil for it.
