    Check out this chair pilates workout for a unique twist on the typical pilates mat class! Don’t be fooled by the addition of the chair… this is a challenging and effective full body workout that may surprise you!
    In this 30 minute workout, we’ll move through multiple pilates exercise positions on the chair, including seated, standing, and lying on the belly, back and side. The chair is an extremely versatile prop, and can be more accessible for some than getting up and down on the mat.
    In this full body pilates workout, we’ll strengthen the upper and lower body, as well as the core. The chair may start to become one of your new favorite pilates props!

    would this be ok to do when healing from a herniated disc?

      That's a great question! Without knowing the details of your situation, in general I would suggest avoiding exercises that require deep flexion (rounding) of the spine. Exercises that are done with a neutral (think straight) spine will be better as you heal. With a herniated disc, you want to think of creating more space in the spine and in between each vertebra. So anything that emphasizes lengthening the spine is good!
