My first time Kayaking and this Kayak held strong. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkx4k5UrhC3v_Y4hIEaXLGvHcN5a5aBmZNB The water got pretty rough as a speed boat zipped by me, and the Kayak withstood it (I expected to be capsized). The Ores are very easy to put together, the pump worked beautifully. the seats are a bit hard to sit in after a while (I recommend sitting on the floor). after reading the reviews I was very scared it'd get a hole in it, the material is very strong and durable. The Air valve may need a small Phillips head screwdriver to adjust, other than that, it's well worth the money!(update)I've gone Kayaking in 3 Lakes and 2 rivers totaling about 40 miles. the kayak had two holes and they patched easily and no other problems can't wait for kayaking season this year!
This is crazy! UA-cam just put this comment in front of me today (August 27th, 2023) stating posted 12 hours ago (August 26th). I assuming it's not snowing currently where you at now. Hopefully you've had time to enjoy it!
EXCELLENT video, very informative! First video that I've seen on this product that shows how to take it apart. Also nice to see a review that's NOT from someone who sells them.
I love mine I just upgraded the pedal drive haven't go to try it out yet thought I also run a trolling motor makes it really nice. I would suggest upgrading the wheels to large ones it makes it easier to wheel around, nice video.
Thank You! I do plan on upgrading wheels and I finally upgraded my cooler to match the yak. You have to let me know what your thoughts are on on the new pdl drive please. Is it worth it?
@@Get-2-ItOutdoors tried the new pedal drive today its very smooth worth the up grade in my book well see long term though i do think my old drive developed some rust in it were as the new one is sealed and shouldnt do that
Water getting in those latches is a deal breaker for me. Extra water = extra weight!!! The hatches should be watertight with seals and better latches. Yep, wheels twice that diameter at least! Great looking kayak!!!!
Smart design, I bet it's a great yak. While I do like this design, I've been leaning more towards the Jackson Knarr, though I can still see myself getting this particular model and trying to fit it to a lightweight trailer.
@Randy Wilson I haven't but just looked at it based off you mentioning it. I have been in a boat similar to it and it was pretty heavy. I can't find the specs of it to see the weight. If trailering everywhere not a problem but worth considering.
Good comprehensive video Matt. I have the identical 360, same year and color. I added a Minn Kota Terrova and it's a joy to fish. I'm considering an upgrade to the new Flex drive Mark IV. There's supposedly a huge difference in speed and noise and draft. I would like to use it in salt water eventually and it has some advantages over the old one.
Excellent overview and personal insights. Very helpful indeed. Well done and new sub! Thanks. One question, have you had it on moving water or just lakes?
Do u think that track on the the back is strong enough for 3 rod holders for catfishing ? Is all the other ones strong enough for a single rod holder for catfishing
I troll with them for Salmon and caught some decent ones with the rod in rod holder and haven't had a problem. I wouldn't let the cat pull on it too long without getting your rod out of holder.
Paul, Yes people have put smaller outboards on them. It has an accessory for an E-drive that connects where the foot pedals are and makes the existing drive electronic so you don't have to pedal. Also you can mount a trolling motor as well.
That's great! I've done some updates since video and got to learn the Kayak a little more. I will be doing a follow up review before Summer's out. Thank You!
Thank you for taking the time to make this video, I have a couple of quick questions, will this kayak, still be able to be entered into most kayak tournaments since it is a catamaran style boat? Would you be comfortable with a small dog riding with you, stability wise? Would you feel comfortable being in rough water with this kayak, will the peddle drive get you back to the bank safely under a load of white caps? You may have just answered that question about the water coming into the boat from the access to the hatch, could you seal those with camper tape maybe? Do you know if the motor drive that Jackson just came out with will work with the new pedal drive? Thanks in advance if you have time to answer me, I did sub your channel, with this many views on your Kayak, I would think it would have helped your Sub Count more. Keep up the fun videos and see you on the water, especially if you find yourself in Deep East Texas. Dale
Ok, thank you for watching first off. Yes, there are channels where anglers state the rules and regs of the tourneys they are in count the Bluesky Boatworks 360 Angler a kayak and able to participate. Absolutely comfortable with a dog on it, even my 75 lb German Shepherd (good video idea actually, so look for that soon..lol). I had it on Lake Michigan with white caps...wouldn't advise doing that..uncomfortable. A regular kayak kinda rocks back and forth but this rides like a piece of plywood meaning waves are more exaggerated. I'm sure there is a way to seal the hatches but I haven't tried to find the solution bc it really isn't a problem. I haven't found water on the inside until I did the flipping video.
@@Get-2-ItOutdoors Yes sir, I I have been left stranded in the past with a boat with a battery powered trolling motor with a storm blowing in and it was less than pleasant hahha. That is the only reason I ask,. To me it would be easy enough to stow the peddle drive and use the motor and if the battery dies still have a decent option for peddle power back to camp. Thanks again sir. dale
I saw this Catamaran style duel Kayak a few years ago, but never bought any boat yet due to my plans changing in 2021 with a wreaked economy.... If things change in 2025, I am seriously considering buying this Bluesky Kayak because I really like it... I looking at many videos to see how fast it goes, but so far, all people say is that it moves, but I want to know how fast, like faster than a good swimmer can swim? Maybe faster than an Olympic Swimmer? No? Not that fast? Then maybe as slow as a 5 year old kid? If so, this will not work and I'll buy a boat at Walmart.
do most people only buy these if they have a pickup truck? I would have to tow this somehow behind my station wagon. Does this allow a tow motor (Trolling motor)?
The TriCat is really cool but nothing I needed. I'm able to fit this one in my small toy hauler still, pretty sure the TriCat wouldn't have fitted. I believe the TriCat would be great for any couple or two people that want to own one though.
@@Get-2-ItOutdoors Been on one and yours as well....Tricat had that extra room and he had everything off the the deck and extention on both front and back porch...He had 2 ...5 hp motors on the back...I was so amased how stable the tricat was.
So I was on Lake Michigan and there was 1.5 footers. It wasn't comfortable at all with that. I turned back around and went back into the tributary. But, didn't sink or flip. I will say that I have heard that the hatches are not waterproof and can fill the pontoons with water which can lead to flipping.
I have a question, when pedaling, how much wiggle happens in that seat post? is it solid or would it eventually wear out? I ask because I'm a big guy and single pole style seats seem to wear out after a few years for me.
Clifford, I probably can't provide the best review due to me weighing 180lbs. But, I can say I don't experience sway or looseness. I also can say that the seat post and hardware seems to be quality belonging in a boat vs a kayak. You did give me an idea to create a video directly reviewing the seat and it's adjustments. Probably couple weeks out. Thank You
There is less friction with a Catran over a Monroe haul. So it seems to me it would be faster.. From my experience a cat is faster!!. I have been around for 62 years on and off the water a cat is the way to GO
That may be so. If it is faster, it's not noticeable when compared to my Father's Old Town. Don't get me wrong, I feel it's quicker than my old pedal drive yak.
@@Get-2-ItOutdoors no it did not. The material will eventually get there, unless you're lucky. Also when you wrapped the metal DO NOT use electrical tape. It will still squeak. Use Gorilla Tape.
