    *Very well-made, stable, comfortable **enjoyable.fishing** recommend love that everything fits in bag. Easy to paddle for single person as well, however might be too heavy to carry by one.*

      All good points and it is a heavy kayak for sure especially after fully rigged. I always tell ppl if you want the most stable pedal kayak, go with this one. If you want speed and agility over stability, there are better options than the sportsman PDL.

      @webechubbin Рік тому

      @@WannaFishAllDay what options would you say are better for speed and agility? Im not much of a kayak fisher yet, i mostly do small rivers and creek floating with friends, but i want something bigger and better than my current one.

      @webechubbin really the only drive that's better is the mirage drive, and a lot of the speed is the boat design and hull not the drive

    Shout out to Navarre Kayak Fishing (Nick) for almost all of the "aftermarket" upgrades mentioned in the video. Don't see a problem giving credit where credit is due. I have A BUNCH of his products on my Sportsman 120 PDL and love all of them.

      @@firefighterTomg The predator/bigwater is an awesome kayak. The only reason I switched to the Sportsman 120 is because I traded my truck in for a work van with a 12 foot box and the 120 fits right in it with the doors closed. I could get the Predator in there but have to really struggle to wedge the nose between the two front seats. Both kayaks are awesome fishing platforms.

    Thanks for the review! I’ve been looking at several pedal kayaks from the Sportsman 120 PDL to the Hobie Pro Angler 14. I didn’t realize they had the rod holders under the seat which was honestly the biggest issue I had (nowhere to set down rods quickly ). Losing under the seat storage is a bummer too though but because there is some space behind the seat and in front of the crate, perhaps a behind the seat setup would be possible.

    Great review. I did a lot of research before getting my OT Sportsman pdl 120 and really love it. I am 6'4" 240lb and it fits me good and is very stable. Yes, slower but a comfortable ride. One of the things I think is really good compared to some other yaks are the rear molded in handles for picking it up from the rear. I used to car top mine and the handles were a lifesaver. i have 4" risers on rear of seat and bought Nick' 1" riser for the front rail. Hi Butch! Thanks for checking out the channel. IMO, both models are great. Very similar layout besides the 18" difference in length. I think the 106 might be slightly better for you both since you are river and creek fishing. The shorter length and lighter weight will be easier to load/unload/transport. Both are super stable so you really aren't giving up stability with the shorter length. Also, weight capacity isn't a concern for you both so again, leaning a little towards the 106.. Nice that it's a little cheaper too. All in all, you can't go wrong with either option and if possible, I would try a demo in warmer weather before making a final decision. Good luck and thanks again for subscribing!!

      Hey Adam, thanks for your comment. I’m 6’2 and I’m constantly moving my seat forward and back depending on the conditions and how I’m fishing. If I’m fishing standing mostly then I’ll move my seat as far back as possible for a more open deck. If I’m on the move a lot, then I’ll have it more forward. However, for your height, there’s still plenty of room. A good rule of thumb for me is to extend it back just far enough so there is a slight bend in my knees when pedaling to avoid injury from locking out my knees. Also, when I have my daughter in the rear storage well, I’ll have it as far forward as maybe 3-4 notches back, albeit not the most comfortable position. Hope this helps.. Cheers!

      Yes it would work. I use 2 x 10AH batteries but you only need 1 for a helix 7.

      Yeah the kayak hull shape prevents it from going much faster so any mods are going to be negligible IMO.

    • @WannaFishAllDay
      @WannaFishAllDay  2 роки тому

      Not a lot but it’s a kayak so there will be water in it at times. Never a puddle bc of the scupper holes. They drain fairly quickly. You could also get the one way scupper valves that keep water from coming up but also drain out.

      @@WannaFishAllDay but do u heat over the kayak to make fit ?

    • @WannaFishAllDay
      @WannaFishAllDay  2 роки тому +1

      At first I would only heat the strip of kydex away from the yak and then place the heated strip on the kayak to shape. You’ll have to do this a few times to get it about 95% right. The last 5% I would heat it on the kayak but at low heat to ensure I don’t warp the kayak. Just be patient with it.

    • @WannaFishAllDay
      @WannaFishAllDay  2 роки тому +1

      And try to direct the heat on the kydex piece and not directly on the kayak as much as possible. The kydex will reach a point where it will soften and that’s when you know it’s heated enough to shape.
