Hit it right on the nail there it is incredibly more full full sound on everything every one was going heavier I’m great full for the radio version but man this one hits way harder def is a bad ass version you can feel it inside your like hell yeah this is great at least that was my experience 😂😮❤
The "agh" in this opening sound haunting as hell!!! Shits sounds much grittier and raw. The All mighty Alice in Chains definitely took the crown for raw sinister side of grunge. Always felt they were thr under belly, darker side
Holy crap. So glad I found this. Even more grungy than the original. The more pronounced harmonies are killer. Jerry’s leads are better than what was released on Dirt.
Gonna have to disagree. The guitar solo, although just as enjoyable, is a bit of a mess. A few spots sound like Jerry was a bit lost and needed direction. This DOES sound like an awesome in-your-face live version(if it was one) and it does show a nice tonal contrast with the album version. But it's not 'better'.
No idea how but my dad had these demos on a recordable cassette back in the early 90s and these are the versions I remember hearing more. I absolutely adore Dirt but these ‘rough cuts’ are insanely heavy
Damn, this is better than the album version! The original is way too polished, the rawness in this version is way more powerful. The vocals sound more massive and the guitar solo is way better. Why in the hell did they change that?!
They wanted to make it sound more polished, I'm honestly glad they did it the way they did. I think the rawer sound worked better for the second self titled
Not necessarily. This version of the solo was a bit sloppy and lacking direction. If it wasn't, Jerry wouldn't have re-worked it for the official release.
It's just me or the demo versions of Dirt are more haunting and badass than the album ones? Especially the harmonies.
No they definitely are.
The demos are amazing
Some of the facelift ones too
I love the dirt demos tape while im tripping on acid its very haunting and different
In this case I gotta say the album version is more badass but I do love the background vocals at 2:10
even heavier
Ya I download from youtube the demo of dam that river cos it's so much more awesome and heavy demo style

Layne's vocal riffs in the background toward the end are un fucking real
I wonder why did they remove that high octave backing vocal? The shit hits like truck man
i think thats layne..and wouldnt be playable live
Probably so they can get Jerry's vocals in noticeably.
The "agh" in this opening sound haunting as hell!!! Shits sounds much grittier and raw. The All mighty Alice in Chains definitely took the crown for raw sinister side of grunge. Always felt they were thr under belly, darker side
Damn right.... Couldn't have said it better myself!!!! 🤜🤛💯

I love the echoey harmony on the last “them bones”, sounds so cool
Pretty pro sounding for a demo. I love this stuff!
The anguish is palpable. I can feel the suffering within and I like it
No idea how but my dad had these demos on a recordable cassette back in the early 90s and these are the versions I remember hearing more. I absolutely adore Dirt but these ‘rough cuts’ are insanely heavy
...the way it should be..especially love demos, because of its purity
I hate to say it....but this is better than the album version
All the Dirt Demo songs are better than their album and I dare say even their Unplugged counterparts
Nah this is just something new to your ear. People are always like this
You can say it... that's how unbelievably good they were. Most of their demos are better than the album.
no it isnt
Nah
R.I.P. Layne! One of the best bands ever!!
Would love to have this demo album the tone and extra kicks on guitar amazing
God damn … that guitar solo 🤘🤘🤘🤘
Damn ..this shit is scary. Better than the album. I didnt think that was possible...
Some say we’re born into the grave.
So good
the way he harmonizes with himself at the end is the best part and IMO is better than the album version
This is fucking pure art
Damn, this is better than the album version! The original is way too polished, the rawness in this version is way more powerful. The vocals sound more massive and the guitar solo is way better. Why in the hell did they change that?!
This is the original. This was recorded before the album version.
They wanted to make it sound more polished, I'm honestly glad they did it the way they did. I think the rawer sound worked better for the second self titled
Vocals are too loud IMO
@@rowanmelton7643thatd be a mixing issue, not a recording quality issue.
Like the demo better. Love all aic songs but this demo is sick!
there's an AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA-EEAAAAAA that he sings in the live 1996 version, awesome.
like everyone already said, this demo is way fucking heavier.. the ending gave me fucking goosebumps
HEAVY ☠️☠️
Love the base ....
The solo
That was great!!!
How he says “bones” 0:35 😩
infuckingcredible
Cantrell's solo here should have been on the official release.
Not necessarily. This version of the solo was a bit sloppy and lacking direction.
If it wasn't, Jerry wouldn't have re-worked it for the official release.
Absolutely not
Yeah I prefer this too
HOLY F- WHERE TF DID THIS COME FROM?! My inner 8th grader is fucking SCREAM CRYING...!!!
Best damn demos I've ever heard!🤔
ultra badass
I love that ending
Brutal
It's a common misconception that the "AH's" were a random thing Layne did on the spot when recording the album version. However, this proves otherwise
Wtf that shit is lit
I imagine this is what you hear when you enter a night club in HELL
Fuck yeah! AIC all day 🔥
Why are al demos always bettter and more raw. Love it.
Cool
Ahhhhhhhhh Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Sounds similar to Smoke the sky from Motley Crue
🎵🎵🎶🎶🎸🎸🍻✨✨✨✨👍
SUBBED 🤜💥💥💥💥
The guitar solo is way more superior on this track.
outro better the orginal version
The faint ahhh is better
Sound like drop B.
It’s drop C# but tuned down about 40 cents
