This dress could be so many things: a costume, a fancy dress, a beach dress...thank you.
You are so welcome!
Beautiful dress!
Thank you! 😊
Happy I found you. I really love to sew. I have been since I was 13 years old. This weekend I'm finishing a fleece jacket with large a large feather design. Also you know how pattern companies have you buy so much excess fabric...I'm sewing a nice tank top, but I added sleeves to it. Happy sewing
You too!
Hi Melly. When you measured the elastic, you did it at the waistline. But since this is more of an empire style dress, shouldn't it be at the underbust area? Or am I missing something? Thank you!
Because it is elastic AND ribbon it’s highly adjustable. The waistline on this hits lower than the under bust but slightly higher than the waist.
@@Mellysews Ahh, ok, thanks so much!
Hi Melissa, I have a question regarding patterns in general (I have enjoyed so many of your videos.) How would a person upsize a petite pattern to a regular sized one? Although maybe not at all. What are the general differences?
Petitie patterns generally are shorter between vertical markers on the body, like between neck and waist or shoulder and wrist.
@@Mellysews Thanks that's what I was thinking, but wanted to confirm with an expert...
Do you give lessons on how to use a sewing machine ? I’ve had mine for years but I’m still struggling.
I don't do lessons in person, but I have a free online course here mellysews.com/learn-sew-free-online-course/
